Welcome to all the new and returning posters, good to hear how you're all doing
CCP sometimes good old 'ordinary' food tastes special when we haven't had it for ages
Kittikins your DD's 'divine' reminds me when, some time ago, DGD2 and her friends started to use 'lush'. They were most put out when I said it was a very old word, seldom used any more. They replied that that it was a modern word, so I couldn't possibly understand what it meant
Caterina have a good weekend, would love to be there on Saturday but it's just too close to my going away. Perhaps there will be a Spring meet in London in the not too distant future
Tealady thinking of you and your Mum, everything x'd for a good result from the tests
I do try to post at a reasonable time in the evenings but always get sidetracked reading all the forums, they're just too interesting. Anyway, will try for 5 but not much happening atm...
1. Nice long chat on the phone with DS
2. nsd
3. Postie brought me a power lead for my old lappy, bought it on ebay and saved myself about £8 on shop prices
4. A ham and tomato sandwich for lunch, and there's still enough ham for one more
5. It was warm enough not to have the heating on until this evening
Night night, sleep tight

Hi - I've had a very unexpectedly chaotic few days which is why I haven't posted. I've ended up doing much more driving, using much more fuel than intended, (and dealing with a chipped windscreen),having to find meals on the run that weren't anticipated and spending money on food-on-the-go when I didn't want to be doing so. I've learnt that I need to have much more emergency packed lunch meal ingredients in the store cupboard or freezer than I've planned for so far.
However, good things have still been happening over the last few days:
1. I've got some wonderful brown ink and a dip pen and have been practising my copperplate handwriting for a project we have got underway. I love writing with a dip pen!
2. We had an unexpected powercut but we had a big stash of candles, batteries in the radio and food that could be cooked quickly on the gas hob. Very pleasant evening and I got on with housework-y things by candlelight which made boring jobs seem much more bearable!
3. I'd ordered a pair of lace-up shoes a couple of weeks ago but got ones half a size too big so exchanged them and the replacement pair arrived today. They fit perfectly and are really comfy. I've been surviving with walking boots and trainers for the last two years so it's lovely to be wearing proper shoes again.
4. And to go with that... I bought a couple of pairs of good quality trousers very cheaply in a sale a couple of months ago but discovered they were a bit too tight to wear so I put them to one side, but today I tried them on and I've lost enough weight to get into them... and... they look really nice with my new shoes.Suddenly my wardrobe is looking up!
5. Have been getting on well with some money earning work.
Sleep well

Well, I'm hiding upstairs both to use MrN's internet connection and to escape the plinking and plonking of the piano tuner!
Here are my 5 for yesterday (Thurs).
1) Mammoth tidying up morning. Swept the patio, tidied outside, brought logs in, hoovered, did washing etc.
2) Helped out at school in the afternoon which is always good.
3) Made a quick, cheaty tea which turned out to be very nice.
4) Listened to the Archers in bed in iplayer.
5) MrN came round :-)0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Pleasures for the past day or so:-
1 - Lovely day out with a friend yesterday. It was foggy and frosty when we left my house, and by the time we got Colne to Boundary Mill retail outlet, it was a beautiful sunny day with a bright blue sky. Back home it was still foggy and frosty! And we hadn't travelled far either.
2- Not OS, but got a fab pair of black leather ankle boots for £22, well known make. Absolute bargain
3 - Must be ham seasonHad a delish ham sandwich on wholemeal bread for lunch, with tomato and philadelphia cheese with chives. Yum!
4 - Enjoying a lovely tidy, dusted and hoovered house today, and am determined to keep it this way (how many times have I said that before....)
5 - Lazy day, watching craft shows on tv
Hope all are well,
Pam x0 -
1. Waking up to my lovely bf even if I did feel very ill!
2. Having a warming hot chocolate when I got in from the cold.
3. Helping an old lady who fell over. The falling over wasn't a pleasure but she was really sweet and her and her husband clutched my hands and said thanks once we'd sorted her out.
4. Having all my stuff organised to come to work today ready to leave so I didn't have to flap.
5. Sending my laptop off to be fixed. It's under warranty but 4 things have broken so I'm really glad it's being sorted.0
