5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

A very up and down few days, my comp died so was out of cyber contact for a while which I enjoyed, once my right hand stopped trying to use the television remote as a mouse!
1. Received a parcel containing two super sarongs for my holiday from a lovely OS'er. They're just the ticket, thank you so much
2. Had to buy a new laptop (thank goodness for that windfall, it eats into my holiday spending money but couldn't have afforded it otherwise). DD found me a super dooper, extra fast, huge memory, lots of things I could never hope to understand but which I'm assured are essential, replacement at a greatly reduced price as the store's offer of the month, so here it is, and here I am back in the world of the web
3. Being reasonably good on my eating plan, now lost 9lb since 26/12 so far, the first 7lb of which went in a week, so it's slowing down but at least it's not stopping
4. Popped into Mr S before getting petrol and got two till spits, one for £3 off my next shop (which I gave to DD as she was going later that day) and one for extra points on petrol. As my tank was almost empty it was very handy
5. The weather, being grateful for a bright if windy day and feeling huge sympathy for the Australians who are suffering so badly because of the floods
Night night sleep tight

1. A (my gentleman friend) and I spent a lovely evening together- and even better, I'll be seeing him on Thursday night!! Yippee
2. Managed to get 2 very cheap 2nd hand summer school uniform dresses for DD so that means I can take back the brand new dresses that I bought recently using a gift card to M&$and have the money for other goodies
3. More YS goodies in village shop
4. DD is sleeping in my bed tonight, so I will have lots of cuddles
5. Had a good day at work, managed to get something done that I'd been putting off for ages.0 -
Hi,
we spent last night watching the news unfold about the floods and I've had the TV on all day watching the progress of the horrors. It has really shocked me.
1.Wore a dress I bought in a car boot sale back home........Monsoon for a pound....can't beat that! Thought I might be a bit cooler with a dress in very humid heat!
2.Dodged showers & got washing mainly dry & ironed.
3.Got our first gas bill in.........and was pleasantly surprised......not too bad!
4.OH home slightly earlier than usual, so nice dinner of spag bol, an ice cream cone for pud!
5.Grateful to be safe & dry with a home and all my family.
have a good day x0 -
Hello, I'm a newbie but I have lurked on this thread for ages and hope you don't mind me joining in. Thoughts to everyone in Queensland.
Mine for yesterday:
1 - sorting a pile of stuff to put on ebay (plus another pile for charity shop)
2 - Beetroot tahini dip with homemade flatbreads for tea
3 - took a risk and put handbag through the washing machine in an attempt to revive it - came out shiny and new!
4 - used a bath bomb (I got for free) and had a lovely bath with a facemask and a chapter of my book
5 - early night with fresh sheets
Hope you all have a lovely day xAiming to be overdraft free by Xmas 2012 - £0/£1800 :xmassmile

Mine for the last day or two...
1. First week back on the slimming world plan and have lost 4 1/2 lbs which is brilliant.
2. Got lots of little housework jobs done and things sorted as I am at work tomorrow and then at the hospital for endoscopy Friday. (In a weird way am looking forward to the latter as it will be time spent with OH, he has been so busy lately we have hardly seen each other)
3. Finished packing and posting the 16 ebay parcels for buyers who have paid. Just 2 left who have not paid yet. It takes ages really for the small amount of money gained but at least it has boosted my paypal balance a bit.
4. When I went for my swim this morning the pool was shut so I had to return home. Luckily I found an old Rosemary Conley fitness DVD and so did some of that instead...I have been meaning to look at it for ages!
Have a good evening everyone! xxx0 -
Hi. I've had an unexpected day off work today so I have finally got around to completing an OS jam making task. I have made my Sloe (Gin) Jelly from the Sloes left over from this years batch of Sloe Gin. I managed to get two good sized jars and actually reached setting point this year! Tastes gorgeous.
Now I've just got to think of 4 other OS pleasures for this thread....0 -
1. Updating my spreadsheet for the year to include the categories I forgot.
2. Doing the washing and getting help putting it on the airer.
3. Getting a nice big portion of sweet and sour to myself (HM but yummy)
4. Going swimming and getting it cheaper cos I have a certain card
5. Coming home and having a nap!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Evening all.
I'm sorry I didn't post yesterday, but I really couldn't think of any pleasures to write about.I'm not sure I can think of much for today, either, but I'll do my best:
1) Took lunch into work rather than buying it, which I've done for the past couple of days.
2) As a result, had a NSD. I'm aiming for at least one a week this year.
3) Kisses from my puddy tat when I got home. It was a shame he'd just been eating tuna catfood, though - his breath stank! _pale_
4) Meatballs for dinner. (And probably some LO for lunch tomorrow, too, as I'm not particularly hungry.)
5) Being safe inside on a foul night.
FLA27 - that's a great idea to make jelly with the fruit from your sloe gin. I wish I'd thought of that before throwing away the damsons from my damson gin at the end of last year.
Ginger Snap - very well done on your weight loss. :T
RoobyNooby - hello and welcome! :hello:
sparrer - that's great news about your new pooter - it sounds quite a bargain. Well done your DD! :T
laloopi - thanks for the link to the croissant recipe - I'll definitely be trying that when I've next got some time off work.
Have a pleasant, safe evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
Afternoon everyone!
Well, cloudy and rainy today, but incredibly mild. My pleasures for today:-
1) The excitement of opening an ISA :j Due to money troubles over the years, it's a novelty to have some cash to invest at long last. Thanks to Martin for his money saving guides - think I've got a great deal :money:
2) Saw a robin at very close quarters. Unfortunately it was flying round a large Mr T supermarket - turns out they've had RSPCA, RSPB etc in, to try and persuade it and it's mate to leave, but they keep on coming back in!! However, the birds have got nice supplies of water and mealworms - and it is a novelty to walk round and hear them singing and occasionally see them close by
3) Found a wonderful craft store in my local town that I didn't know existed until today - it's rather tucked away. They have various craft classes running, so am going to look through the handout and decide which to do
4) Naughty naughty - having another instant meal tonight (another half price bargain)
5) Day out with another friend to look forwards to tomorrow
Have a good evening everyone,
Pam x0 -
1. Pleasant walk this morning.
2. Finding we didn't need to buy much from the fruit & veg market stall today because we're still managing to be innovative about using up post Christmas leftovers.
3. Signing up to support Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's anti-EEC fishing quotas campaign to prevent fish having to be thrown back dead into the sea simply because quotas have been reached. Pleased to see how quickly the numbers supporting him are rising.
Can only come up with three today.0
