Blimus, I love the idea of crocheted bunting. Are you making it up as you go along or are you working to a pattern? If so, do you have a link?

    Quick five pleasures for today:

    1. Another NSD :D

    2. Getting DS1 to think quite hard about a major project that he needs to plan - we all got involved with ideas for it and it gave us all a bit more energy.

    3. I've got this year's £1 a day sealed savings pot started and it now has £5 in it. :D

    4. My parents have said they'll pay for some decent new clothes for the DSs. Really kind of them.

    5. Classical music on in the background all evening. I must do this more.

(Oh and 6. A non-MS confession. I raided the cooking chocolate. It was very nice :D )

    Sweet dreams

Evenin' all, hope all the poorlies on the road to recovery and CCP hope you don't have too many aches and pains in the morning

    My 5

    1. nsd, 4/5 this month so far :D

    2. Eating sensibly, and cleaning house every day, so using up lots of calories which means I have...

3...lost 7lb since Christmas, it'll slow down now I expect but I will get into those dresses!

    4. Decided to book myself a pamper day before I go away, four weeks today - did I mention I'm going to India? ;) - and have 'the works' so I feel a little more confident. All on a budget though as I'm going to the college for my treat - I may have had a wee windfall but doesn't mean I'm changing my OS habits and throwing it around. Not looking forward to the eyebrow thing but am looking forward to seeing the results :)

    5. Postie brought me a free H&S shampoo and conditioner, and a sample of cat food

and very important 6. Took the dec's down before 12th Night for the first time ever, and am so pleased to have my home back as it should be :D

    Night night, sleep tight

  • sparrer - 7lbs since Christmas?!! That's amazing! Well done :T

Broomstick -I'm making the bunting up as I go along. Just chain about 16-18 (depending on how big you want each piece) and then turn without adding an extra ch at the start. This makes plain triangle shapes. Then just sew each of the triangles to a long chain of single stitch. One of the simplest things I've tried :)

  • 1) I've brought in lunch I made at home to work for the third day in a row. :A

    2) This should be my third NSD of January. :money:

    3) Tonight will be a home-made meal of some kind. Maybe eggs, chips and beans, I quite fancy that today.

    4) I've got to pick up a package tonight and I think that's the diary I've ordered. I need to get organised so that I can plan birthdays etc. My mum has asked for a CD for her birthday, which is at the end of this month, and I've found it on Amazon for £2.69! :D:rotfl:

    5) I've applied for some freebies and made a note to get the News of the World this weekend for a voucher towards a make-up bag plus grocery vouchers. I found out last night you can now collect Boots points at several other online stores, I guess it's an alternative to cashback sites. Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone didn't know. :)

    4) DH very kindly turned himself into a human hot water bottle when I was cold on the settee this evening. Although he did fall asleep and dribbled a bit on my shoulder!
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Bless him :D

Not done yet, but will be making banana bread with littlie later, with the bananas that I got for 1p each in Asda.

Oh this is always such a nice thread to read.....in keeping with my new year decision to post more on MSE (because it's just such a possitive place) here I go:

    1. Being cheered up from reading other OSers pleasures and knowing there are othre people like me!

    2. HM tomato soup for lunch, which was warming and full of flavour.

    3. A good nights leep last night. I was starting to wonder if I was to be awake for all of 2011 :)

    4. Music. Listening to music can change everything.

    5. Watching the rain from the kitchen window and then hugging the warm radiator.

    Hi everyone!
Had a nice today - now settling down for a lazy evening watching some TV. Hope everyone is well and that anyone under the weather feels better soon.
    Todays pleasures:-

    1) Finally sorting out my local Govt pension - been procrastinating for ages as I needed to dig out various items of paperwork. I rounded it all up last night, went in to the Pensions dept, filled out all the forms, and it's all sorted and should be paid soon :j
    2) Had a good laugh with the Adviser there - told him I'd done 30+ years in local Gov't, and he said I'd serve less time for murder :rotfl: Think he was suitably impressed I'd stuck it for so long, and was very envious I'd escaped.
    3) Had a look round the shops while I was in town - and didn't spend a penny other than car parking
    4) Planned 2 nice days out visiting friends next week
    5) Caught up with e-mails
    6) Mad half hour with puddy tat playing with her toys - she loves that I'm around much more these days

    Have a good evening, everyone,
    Pam x
  • 1) Cleaned and tidied the house.
    2) Saw a friend for a coffee and heard all about her exasperating family Christmas.
    3) Got a couple of jumpers in the charity shop. Second hand M&S is wonderful.
    4) Sneaky snooze on the sofa before starting studying.

That's it for today. Have pleasant evening, everyone.

    Hi Everyone,

I feel very sleepy today - so am probably going to head to bed early... maybe it is just an excuse to snuggle up and read my book!

My colleague with breast cancer starts chemo tomorrow. She's being amazingly brave though the stress was definitely showing through today. :( Another colleague's sister has just had her cancer confirmed as terminal with weeks to live which is so sad - she's only 42. He has had a really awful last 12 months with his mum dying after a long battle with cancer, and his BIL being murdered (stabbed to death). He is such a lovely person who just needs a run of good news for a change. :(

    1) I am healthy and so is my family

    2) Took my own lunch into work

    3) Left work at 5.45pm (YAY!!)

    4) Wore my new shirt to work - it's an M&S pink and white stripey one with a white collar... very smart! It made me feel very confident for some reason!

    5) my new PJ's - the tatty teddy ones have to be taken back as they really are a little small.... the other ones that I bought are VERY snuggly....

Night all - have a fabulous Friday!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
