    Hi all

I have been so busy that every time I go online I mean to post then get lost in other things (emails, other threads etc) and then fail to do so!

However, I have had a few very good days - will update in the future because now it is nearly midnight and I need to get my beauty sleep!

    Love to all

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Late as usual :o. Hope everyone is well or getting that way, and not too much snow in the north. Horrid stuff, thought it had all gone :(

    1. NSD, 6/7. Tomorrow will be different though

    2. Had my vac's, didn't hurt a bit, lovely nurse. I'm now protected against camelpox (at least I think that's what she said :D) and heaven only knows what else!

    3. Friend came by and is going to tile the rest of the bathroom for me

    4. Postie brought me a dynamo torch as I bought my car and house ins from the same company

    5. Went out this evening and got back to find my car had a dead battery. I was the only person among 4 other women and 9 men who had jump leads in the boot of their car :p

    Night night sleep tight

A very quick five from me for Friday:

    1. Yet another NSD :D That's 6 this year. This is very satisfying and something that I'm really enjoying sticking to. :T

    2. Another £1 in the sealed pot.

    3. I ironed the enormous crocheted mat I made out of tons of vibrant bits of scrap wool ages ago, cleared the coffee table and now have the mat on display. Looks good.

    4. Caught up on an episode of Edwardian Farm which is still on iplayer.

    5. Fish for supper was delicious.

    Sweet dreams

Hello, I've been MIA over Christmas, reading and lurking, but am feeling good :) Happy New Year to one and all :):)

    Recent pleasures

    1. I've started keeping track of my finances in a kind of cash-neutral way, i.e. I spent quite a bit in the online sales just before the end of the year and accounted for them then, buying lots of presents for birthdays, (dare I say it) next Ch****mas and a few bits for me. Since then, I've taken a few things back, and have also received small amounts of money in from people that took my place at a couple of Christmas social events I couldn't go to due to snow/illness/lack of babysitters! So, even though the cupboards, fridge and freezer are overflowing and the car is full of petrol, I've only spent about £10 in real terms. Going to see how long I can keep this up!

    2. Have already had 2 NSDs, which for me is a lot ;)

    3. Very excitingly, think I'm going on a date tonight!! Met a friendly gentleman yesterday and he asked to see me again, so we're off to dinner in a country pub. I'm not sure if it's a date or him just being polite, I'm so blind to these things.......but anyway, it's a rare evening out!! Wish me luck as I'm already nervous, lol.

    4. Going out to the theatre today with DD and some friends, with tickets already paid for last year.

    5. Have had enough energy recently to start the much-needed tidying up!

    6. A freegler gave me 3 binders' worth of vegetarian cookery magazines, so I'm having fun going through and finding new delicious recipes for us. I've been vegetarian since childhood and love experimenting with new flavours, even if DD can sometimes be a bit suspicious - but it's try this or go hungry in my house, I'm not pandering to ficklessness, to a great degree!!

    7. We had a lovely Christmas with my parents and have been nicely spoiled :) DD stayed with my parents over NY, so I popped to a friend's house for a couple of days and enjoyed being able to let my hair down without having to worry about being compus mentus in the morning!

    8. Have realised recently that even in the depths of my depression, I had a core group of really good friends, who put up with me when I was at worst, and are doing their best to drag me out into society more now I'm starting to get better. I'm so blessed to have them in my life :):)

    9. Only had to work for 3 days this week, hoorah!

    10. Will hit my 5 years' service at work today or tomorrow, and will have a very small bonus in my pay packet and can spend on my company credit card as well. Yippee!! That'll basically pay for our transport to France for our hopeful summer holiday, once I've worked out if I can afford the rest of it!

    Afternoon everyone!
    Quick 5 for today:-

    1 - A NSD :j
2 - Finally went through my bank statement online to check all was ok - and discovered DWP have paid in my £250 winter fuel payment
3 - Started work on the major decluttering needed in my house. So much to do  but have resolved to try to just do half an hour a day and concentrate on one task (eg a cupboard or a drawer) and try not to get side tracked or put off by everything else needing doing
4 - Just enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee whilst sending off an e-mail to a friend
5 - Puddy tat is happy and content, presently snuggled up on my bed.

Hope everyone has a good weekend,

    Pam x
  • Hello.I hope you're all having a peaceful day.

    For today (working):

1 Woke up to a purring feline hot water bottle curled up with me under the duvet.

2 Have had a really nice day at work.

3 Came home to a nice cuppa and some HM cheesecake.

4 Going to have fondue tonight (still getting through Christmas supplies).

5 Definitely an early night tonight.Too many late nights recently.

Frugalpam your plans on decluttering sound good.I set the alarm for the length of time I want ie 30 minutes,so when it goes off, time's up.It's a very good idea to do it in small stages.Good luck!

Kittikins hope your date goes well.

Patchwork Quilt (((hugs))) to you.A new chapter has begun...

    Good night x

Couldn't resist sharing this photo of my puddy tat - she had crawled inside a bodywarmer I'd left on my bed, and was fast asleep with her head poking out of an arm hole :D

    Evening all.

frugalpam - thanks for that photo of your puddy tat - so cute!

    Mine for today:

    1) The daffodils are just starting to show through in my garden - a nice reminder that, although it feels like it's ages until spring, the plants know it won't really be that long now. :)

    2) Had a mooch along the seafront in the sunshine.

    3) Bought a copy of the Times for the £10 Waitrose voucher in the there, which had the additional bonus of giving me a paper to read. (Although I'd forgotten how difficult it is to read a newspaper when you've got a cat - with a whole house to lounge in, why do they have to sit on the paper? smiley-confused005.gif)

    4) Ordered my new breadmaker - reduced in a new year sale, with cashback and loyalty card points. :money:

    5) Having time to sit and listen to the football on the radio. I emphasise that it was the opportunity to sit that was a pleasure, not the match itself, which could most accurately be termed a complete fiasco.

Have a nice evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!
  • Thanks for the hug Marmite. And I love the picture of the cat CCP!

    1) A long lie in, courtesy of having teenagers in the house who are nearly nocturnal.
    2) Left overs from last night for a quick lunch with no preparation.
    3) An afternoon on the sofa with a magazine, eating jelly beans that someone gave me for a present. Got a fire going too for extra cosiness. You can tell I'm pampering myself.
    4) Just about to watch a film that one of DS's friends brought round and forgot to take home. DS says he won't mind and it saves us renting it.
    5) Coffee date with DH this afternoon consisted of two peppermint teas, instead of lattes and a cake between us. Much cheaper and healthier too.

    Have a peaceful evening everyone.
  • Here are mine for today:

    1) Met up with some good friends that we hadn't seen for nearly a year.
    2) The Food!! :p Everyone always brings a dish to share and my friends are the best cooks! Their burritos were so delish as were the selection of tray bakes and brownies and home made tostadas and bean dips and....well, everything!
    3) Same friends also brew their own wine. I wasn't drinking because I was driving so they kindly gave me a bottle.
    4) A NSD.
    5) Am having great fun finding lots of educational resources that I want to use in the next term. I love lesson planning!

Have a great weekend everyone :D
