    Morning all :hello:

Managed to get a good sleep last night so feeling a bit better. Still coughing like mad and the nerves have seriously kicked in for tomorrow.

    1. Had a good chat with my dad about his dad, and how everyone was feeling.
    2. Wearing a scarf that I knitted last year - very warm and fluffy.
    3. Starting to (attempt to) knit a hat today - this may be a pleasure or an erm, interesting article!
    4. Sorting out ingredients tonight for pheasant casserole to go in the slow cooker tomorrow morning.
    5. Thinking how much difference MSE makes to people's lives - just a few things I read today that have made me tingly happy :)

    Hugs to all x

Good afternoon everyone. Just having a rest and a mug of tea. My five for today,
    1. Having a move of furniture and really good clean of DD2's bedroom - all done now and looks great. Just need to sort through her clothes when she comes home from school.
    2. Off work until Tuesday. Getting my holidays in before the year end.
    3. Being given some bicycle panniers from a nice lady on Freegle.
    4. Taking christmas presents to my brothers house and Christmas music on the radio again.
    5. DH has finally taken his bike out of the dining room! (Don't ask!)
Ollie hope the mammogram has gone ok. My mum had hers yesterday and will get her results just before christmas aswell. Fingers crossed.
    Love to all. X

Ollie - Hope all goes well with the mammogram

    Mine for today are:

    1. Lovely homemade leek and potato soup for lunch made out of a leek looking a bit sad for itself at the back of the fridge.
    2. Someone's birthday in the office so having a jam doughnut after lunch, bad but yummy
    3. More christmas presents arriving today in the post that look great but cost hardly anything:T
    4. Big pile of ironing done before I left for work today
    5. Old boss thanking me for helping him with a report that he thinks is really complicated but only took me a few minutes to do.

    One for yesterday:
The nice man from St.John's Ambulance helping my daughter when someone spilt hot chocolate down her arm at our community Christmas event. No damage done just a bit sore.

    Hi all

Quick collective hug to all who need a hug and collective wave to all of you dear friends. I got two days to write and am so very tired, having been out today for the first time since being unwell.

    Here goes for yesterday:

1 - Able to get up and about at last!

2 - Downstairs does not (quite) look like the bomb has fallen, the rest of the family have kept it "fairly" tidy. Well, I am just grateful for what they have done, who cares if it is not all shiny surfaces and dust free floors?

3 - Not coughing quite so much, which is such a blessed relief!

4 - Made a big pan of lentil soup, DH helped by chopping leeks and carrots, we all loved it.

5 - Watched Waterloo Road downstairs with DH, we are now on a totally even keel. He is being very attentive. I shall enjoy it while it lasts.

6 - Went back to the little room for the night, but had such a terrible sweat in the middle of the night that I decided to decamp back to my "old" bed, so I did it. It is great to have the choice of two beds!

    Here are mine for today:

1 - First day OUT today! Went all the way to the herbal clinic in Stratford on the bus.

2 - The herbal clinic supervisor and students were really nice to me, I was really embarrassed because I had to cough and spit in tissue paper and they were very reassuring that it is ok (after all they are health professionals in training!). It made me feel better and I left with a nice tea and a potion for cough and other symptoms, for the next couple of weeks.

3 - Managed to fit in a little shopping and got a few yellow stickered bits in Mr S.

4 - Had a bowl of boiled rice and some fruit for lunch and feeling really good about starting eating healthily again.

5 - Managed to do a bit of paid work, only one hour but it means that from now on I shall do some work and won't officially be on sick leave even if I do only one hour per day - saving me from having to go to the GP for a sick note.

    Love to all

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi, everyone, hope you are all well and hugs for those who may not be ((()))

    Recent ones for me include:

    1. Enjoying my blind date last night. I don't think I want to see him again, but we had a good time and he was very complimentary about me :D.

    2. The tremendous support from friends :grouphug: after I got burgled on Tuesday evening, whilst out. Fortunately there was very little damage or mess and I have very little worth stealing! - but they got my jewellery which has sentimental value, and my camera. I can get extra locks installed for free apparently (someone is coming round Monday for that) and my insurance company has been great about the claim.

    3. The yummy curry  I had with friends whilst [STRIKE]scumbags[/STRIKE], sorry, I mean not such nice people  , were in my house.

    4. Writing every day and seeing my story progress :T. Have reached 12,500 words on this one so far. Not far from getting the first draft done.

    5. Anticipating the coming weekend in London at the MSE meet and seeing an old friend who I'd lost touch with for the last 28 years :j.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Hi all :A

Ollie - will keep my fingers crossed for your results
Redsquirel - good luck with the interview tomorrow. Just remember, they really cannot manage without you and would be lucky to get you!
Savingforoz - So sorry to hear about your burglary. I am thinking very uncharitable thoughts about the scumbags who did that to you
Caterina - god to hear that you are up and about

    My 5 for today:

    1) Taking my coffee back to bed this morning and having a lazier start (still up by 7:30 though)
    2) Getting a game for the Wii using Tesco vouchers this morning. I know it makes better use to use them for rewards but I wanted this game and I have loads of vouchers stacked up. Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics ... I am going to use this to stage a Winter Games extravaganza for my Golden Oldies (Dad and partner and Mr M's Mum) on Boxing Day. Virtual skiing, snowboarding, skating, toboganning and snowball fights followed by a medal ceremony. Will finish off by toasting marshmallows in front of the fire and hot gluewein. Should keep them occupied for a while.
    3) Friend coming up this afternoon for a coffee and a natter. I made the Grans Natter bars and they went down very well
    4) Nice comforting cauliflower cheese for tea (with sausages for Mr M)
    5) Night in front of the fire watching I'm a Celeb

    Sleep well all
    x
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

oooooooooooo Ollie, a book!!! We are going to do a scrap book of his stay so that could be adapted to a kids xmas book!! Something to think about! I will add it to my list!

    Mine for today are:

1 Leaving on time again - kids rushed to get ready to see photos of Otis climbing out of cot and swiping dh's car keys!!!!

2 Went through xmas activities for next 2 weeks at toddler group so I know whats going on and can change stuff!! :P (was meant to be painting stockings next week but now we will be gluing shiney shapes that i will cut out and glitter and anything sparkly - much more xmasy than a bit of paint)

3 One of the mums at school pulling me to one side to say how much she enjoyed the few bits and peices of cooking I gave her (just a few bits of what I cooked for the school fete), so chuffed that I have done her another bag! A little bit of flattery and I give out all my cooking!!! :P

4 My stuff selling out at the fete in minutes!!

5 Getting home to a snowman activity for the kids, I am sure I enjoy gluing, painting and glittering more than them!! Think thats why I always do the craft in toddler group, i just love getting covered in paint and usually end up with little hand prints on me!!! Great fun!!

6 Getting in from the rain and cold to a nice hot cup of tea and some home made rocky road!!!!

    Hi

Just heard my OH is going to be made redundant :( so I am officially having an awful few weeks! Not going to panic as we have a few months to get ourselves in order (good excuse to spend more time on here!) . So I am trying even harder to find good things in my day.

    1. Wrapping up bargain xmas pressies
    2. A trip to the library and a great selection of good (free) books to enjoy now
    3. Clearing out my wardrobe, selling the old to make way for the new
    4. Lots of kitten snuggles
    5. Going to clear my desk so that I can craft again in style

As long as we are all together we can face whatever the world has to throw at us. Thank you all for your help and support and knowing you are all there will make the future easier to face!

    Good evening everyone.

Rummer My DH lost his job a few weeks ago & we are surviving. It's an awful shock so I know how you are feeling world.gif for you and this to make you smile HSmotivate-smile.gif xxx

Busy day here not helped by the fact that I decided to put the tree up at 4pm :o:D It's like tinsel city in the living room at the moment with the dogs getting tinsel wrapped round them by the children & trying to eat baubles at the same time - the dogs not the children :rotfl:

    My five for today are:

    1. Lovely pasta bake for tea - I make it regularly but it was extra yummy tonight.

    2. The house looks lovely & christmassy :xmassmile

    3. Instead of throwing the old door wreath away I rummaged through my craft stash box & found some festive looking ribbon, got some stars & baubles from the tree bag & re-did it. It's on the front door now and looks great, probably better than it did when it was new :money:

    4. I managed to do some cross stitch this afternoon - nearly finished DH's christmas present now - a picture of John Wayne as he loves him (not a shared love I can't stand him!)

    5. Laughing with my Mum on the phone about my Dad's umming & aahing with his back. Mum thinks it's a bit better now but he likes the sympathy bed.gif

I hope that everyone has had a good day with some pleasures in it.
