Hi all
Mollie, good to see you back on the forum!
I am feeling better still even if the cough comes and goes.
I just came in to say good morning and will be back later with my pleasures. Have a good day everybody xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good morning all. Well it's certainly brass monkey weather here today, but it's beautiful. I didn't post yesterday as I had a particularly trying day. Bad phone call with ex. I just find the situation so exhausting and unnecessary. I felt so low last night and then I found a grey hair!!! So, in all I didn't feel terribly blessed yesterday. Anyway, now I have a bit of perspective back here are my belated ones,
1. Walked dog into town to run an errand (killed two birds with one stone).
2. No washing needed doing.
3. Lovely homemade cottage pie for tea. It was delish even if I say so myself.
4. Not terribly OS but I ordered myself a new mobile phone, although it is a good deal and will be the first new phone I have ever owned. I have always had hand me downs on PAYG deal but due to change of circumstances I will be better off on a contract. It will be a bit of a nightmare until I get the hang of it but it's PINK!
5. Being safe and warm in the house with DD1 and DD2 and knowing Frith and Caterina are feeling a bit better.
Hopefully a better day today and I will post later.
Best wishes to all. X0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well.
1) Lie in - I only had to be at an event midmorning so I took the opportunity to treat myself
2) Making progress in my plans to buy a new property. It should come to fruition by the end of 2012! I am looking forward to having a little more space and no moany downstairs neighbour!
3) NSD (except for some diesel which I have to claim back on expenses)
4) Quick chat on the phone with my oldest brother
5) Cat nap when I got home this afternoon - I felt exhausted and it really perked me up.
Night night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Caterina, what about some fresh lemon juice, honey and a bit of glycerine, a spoon every second hour or so?
That has worked for me in the past.Felines are my favourite

Another wanderer returns to the thread. Second bout of psudamonus landed me in hospital again for 5 weeks so I haven't felt very pleasure like, but here is a selection of OS pleasures since I came out last week.
1. Lungs have decided to play ball for a while & let me out of hospital.
2. Catering department at hospital now playing ball when I ask for low GI options like boiled or jacket taters instead of mash and small salad to go with a sarnie- only one hiccup of white ham sarnie instead of wholemeal ham.
3. Found the delights of curries in hospital resteraunt (one of the chiefs is indian and used to work at a 5 star hotel in Dubi) They are really lush and this is from somewone who would no more go into an indian takeaway or eating house than fly in the sky.
4. On Sunday the weather was nice enough & I felt well enough to go out for lunch.
5. DS has found a house share he realy likes and people he knows to share it with.
6. DS has agreed to help clear the loft ready for it to be reinsulated in just over a wees time ( free grant from the council).
7 looking forward to staying with dad for a few days next week - (he lives not far from the Severe Asthma unit I attend in Birmingham).
8. managed to drive to GP's surgery on my own today and deliver some useful declutter to the local Resource Centre as well.
9 Hubby agreed to a more house de cluttering whe the loft is finished.
Huggs to all who need it

Evening
1. Did'nt have to get up before 6 this morning as no one had to be anywhere too early today.
2. Took some chocolate muffins into the office which went down well
3. Got to work in the local office today so no travelling and had holiday approved for this Friday and Monday of next week. May be able to take more time next week as well depending on how the project we are working on goes.
4. Helped out at the 100 years of guiding event tonight, good to see so many people there supporting the guides
5. Lovely fireworks at the event and coming home to a hot cup of tea.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening everyone. Here are my five for today:
1. Not having to get up at 5:30am tomorrow morning for a driving lesson! It was due to start at 6:30am for 2 hours, but I am only doing the one hour tomorrow and another hour another time. The dark mornings make it really hard to get up, so I am very grateful for this.
2. Reading "The Girl Who Played With Fire" again. I started it on the station this morning and had got about 2 pages into it when the guard came over and said "Great book - hope you've got the other 2." I have, and I shall enjoy reading those again too.
3. I managed to get a reply to a troublesome query at work. It feels satisfying.
4. Working on more party ideas when I got around to Mum's tonight. I'm not saying what she suggested I label vegetable soup as!
5. Tea at Mum's, which meant I didn't have to cook tonight. I know I enjoy cooking, but it is nice to have a night off every now and then.
6. My sister's home-made fruit scones. They're lovely and light and I couldn't resist taking a second one.
Always knew I couldn't count. That's six - my fault. I'm feeling tired. Hope everyone has a nice night and a great tomorrow. Take care, all.

Unfortunately another lousy day for me today. I've also had a long day, working on and off from 8am until now. I will try and find five pleasures but I have found it difficult the last couple off days.
1. A walk with the dog and seeing the lakeland fells on such a beautiful clear day.
2. DD1 had a full day at school without getting into trouble with her teachers. Her behaviour has gone very downhill recently, not surprising following recent events!
3. DD1 in her own bed upstairs (DD2 with her dad tonight).
4. Leftover cottage pie for tea (still yummy).
5. My filled hotwater bottle and a comfy bed waiting for me in a few minutes.
Hugs to all who need them tonight. X0 -
Been busy over past week or so and haven't managed to post but pleased that most seem to be recovering from illnesses.
My five are
1. A few NSD's
2.Some fantastic sunsets and sunrises.
3. Spending very little on food and using up leftovers which DS2 has actually approved of.
4. Meeting up with a friend for coffee and having really good chat.
5. Selling more on ebay managing to list some items a week it helps with money and the decluttering which desperately needs doing.
6. DS1 phoning for a chat and not just to ak how to cook or use the washing machine. He normally rings DH to talk.0 -
Hello All,
Five for yesterday
1. DD UCAS form progressing well.
2. Despicable Me. We all enjoyed the film and Orange Wed, with our own snacks, made it an affordable evening out for us all.
3. Half price hot chicken from Mr T meant I could make tea for everyone before we went to the cinema!
4. My fun halloween activity was a success with one class yesterday. 50% success rate!!
5. Hugs from DS2 and DH as I was upset about having a bad day at work and DD being mean to me and having too much to do.........etc etc Roll on half term :j
Have a lovely day everyone.HE xx
