:hello:Bon voyage savingforoz :hello:
Have an amazing time, keep in touch when you can, take care (seems you're going well prepared to do that, thanks to your friends) and enjoy every minute !
a bientot! :wave:0 -
SavingforOz - have an absolutely magical time. I am completely emerald green with envy. Stay safe (looks like you will from your prezzies
) and have a blast.
Come back and visit us when you can.

Savingforoz, I hope you have a wonderful time. This thread is great - it's like chatting with friends over a coffee.
Well, I've done good again today an have five blessings;
1. A beautiful sunny but cold day.
2. Going for coffee and toasted teacakes with my girls. The cafe even had a roaring fire. Toasty warm.
3. Changing round the furniture in my bedroom. Duvet cover and lampshade changed. Looks really nice.
4. Starting to tidy up the garden ready for the winter.
5. Invited for wine and nibbles for an X-Factor evening at my sisters house.
Best wishes to all. X0 -
:jSavingforOz :j:j So excited for you! Have a brilliant time and please, please come back and tell us everything!!

Evening all.
savingforoz - have a fantastic trip - if you happen to come across an internet cafe on your travels, we'd love to know how you're getting on.
beachbaby - how lovely to find a cafe with an open fire - it sounds quite idyllic. (No, I'm not jealous - much!)
Kitchenbunny - I'm glad your DH is starting to feel a bit better - he has my sympathy even more than usual as I've been so unwell myself recently.
marmite - lucky you, seeing a nuthatch - I've only ever seen one once, and they're such pretty little birds.
ampersand - good luck on keeping four legged visitors out of the house. I'm lucky enough to have a cat that's partial to mice if they come in the house, but won't hunt anything outside so my avian visitors are safe.
Ladyhawk - fingers crossed that your colleague's lumps are entirely harmless.
My pleasures for today:
1) Lie-in this morning.
2) Got an invitation to do a product trial on a very tasty-sounding new breakfast cereal. I haven't done any product tests in months, and now I've had four in two weeks. :j
3) Spent much of the afternoon and evening watching the three day eventing from the World Equestrian Championships. It's been about perfect so far - dramatic enough to be exciting, but without anyone coming close to getting hurt.
4) Treated myself to a free range gammon joint. Being free range it was quite expensive, so it's meant to do me for at least 3 meals - if I can stop myself nibbling at it.:o
5) Having a glass of wine this evening - I got some half price following a tip from this site :money:, and it's very nice too.
Have a lovely evening, all, and stay dry!Back after a very long break!0 -
savingforoz :j:j:j Bon voyage!
Hope you have a great time and take care!0 -
Hello everyone
Sorry to be so absent this past week - for no real reason I've been feeling really down in the dumps, but following a night out with a group of good friends yesterday evening (and I had to force myself to go - and so glad I did) I'm feeling decidedly perkier today :j
So - today's pleasures :-
1 - Waking up this morning not feeling so down in the dumps
2 - My cat's quite a bit better (she's had a respiratory infection and cold (didn't know cats got colds) Actually, her being poorly has got me down.
3 - Bank account healthier than expected when I went through it today
4 - I've lost almost 5lbs since I started back on Weightwatchers and can now fit in my trousers without gasping for breath
5 - Realised it's now 20 months since I gave up smoking
and another one
6 - Realise that giving up smoking and now dieting makes me feel good that I'm taking control of my life again
Off now to catch up on a week's posts!

Evening all,
Pam - glad you are feeling perkier, and that kitty is doing better. They are such a worry aren't they! WD on giving up smoking.
I have had such a lovely day. Really relaxed and chilled - just what I needed. I had been invited to a party down in London but I really couldn't face the hassle of getting the train down and frankly I know it's going to be a boozy one, which I don't feel like either.
1) Pottering around the flat
2) baking bread using my Kenwood Chef
3) Made some butternut and red pepper soup - YUM
4) baking some gorgeous ginger biscuits (using a recipe from here)
5) Changing the sheets on my bed.
6) Doing some knitting while watching CDWM
7) Washed my whites
8) Afternoon snooze
9) Finished my book - 61 Hours by Lee Child - which I thoroughly enjoyed
10) Watching NCIS & CS
11) Bakes sea bream (RTC) stuffed with herbs from my garden for dinner
So all in all a lovely day!
Night night everyone. Sleep tight.

Ladyhawk - your day sounds perfect
Here are mine:
1) Lovely warm and sunny day.
2) Clothes dried on the line for the first time in ages.
3) Had a trip around the charity shops and found a very nice 1930s embroidered cushion cover.
4) Shared a couple of portions of fish and chips around for lunch.
5) Just got back from a beer tasting session with friends. It was raining all evening but we were under a gazebo type tent beside a roaring camp fire. Great night.
Am absolutely shattered now. Off to bed with a hot water bottle and a good book. BlissDFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Will just write briefly now as I am really poorly with an ear infection that seems to be going down my neck too!
Here are my 5 for today (Sat).
1) MrN coming round to rescue me when I was too ill to get out of bed this morning.
2) Sister coming round and basically taking over the cooking and donkey work of bigger son's party.
3) Bigger son's party with friends from school! We went swimming at our local pool (free) then they came back and played on the rope swing in the tree then we gave them pizza, garlic bread, jelly and cake. So a party for 6 kids for a tenner...
4) Phone call from school friend about her new niece.
5) One child stayed on after the party for a sleepover. We have never had anyone stay here before but they (sons and he) went to bed 10.30ish and are all fast asleep.
6) MrN came round which was nice but I am ill and it looks as though he is going that way too...0
