Well, that was a day and a half!

Here are my 5 for today (Wednesday).

    1) Woken early but dozed while bigger son built his birthday Lego on the bed next to me.

    2) Spent a quiet day doing washing, tidying and making mountains of fairy cakes.

    3) Fed my sons and MrN's and everyone was happy.

    4) Had bigger son's birthday do for my mum, dad, brother, sister, next doors and my friend from school. Ate all the fairy cakes, the Dr Who cake etc and played various board games.

    5) My school friend's elder brother phoned (he went to school with me too) and his first child was born at 5pm so shares a birthday with my son!

    6) MrN came round. :-)

(((Hugs))) to all the poorlies and anyone who just wants one. Tickles under the chin to the moggy population

    1. Wrote a poem. Oddly enough Blimus asked if I still write and I do, but only at times when I'm in a certain mood. Today was one of those times
    2. The rain. I sat snugly indoors watching it make patterns on the window, or cry down the window as one of my DC used to say
    3. Went into Mr M at 7.30pm, bought 8 panini, a pot of double cream, half a cabbage and two punnets of plums for £1.87 :)
    4. An evening out with friends

    Sweet dreams

  • My five for yesterday are

    1. Meeting with a friend while walking and both having time for a long chat.

    2. Managing the evening walk in the dry or nearly and it was still light and picked both pears and chestnuts.

    3. Took lunch into work. I didn't manage to on Tuesday.

    4. Had a power cut so was good sitting and talking in candlelight.

    5. Phonecall from DS1

    1. Orange Wednesday so took DD to the cinema and for a pizza, all buy one get one free:money:
    2. DD made ginger cake at school, very yummy. She seems to have a feel for baking as everything has turned out yummy so far
    3. Signed up to do the Moonwalk next year so need to start doing some training:eek:.
    4. Lovely chat with SIL on phone passing on some MSE tips. My brother said I have created a monster withe the MSE:rotfl:
    5. Received a free lipgloss in the post so put that away as a stocking filler.

hugs to all who need them
  • Good morning all. I'm new to this thread but have been reading. You all sound fantastic people. I'm not sure if anyone has seen my thread on the other board but my husband has just left me and I'm trying very hard (mostly unsuccessfully) to stay positive, so I think this could be a good way to do it. The way I'm feeling at the moment I'm not sure I can come up with 5 blessings so I think I will start with 3.
    1. My two fantastic daughters who have put up with so much recently.
    2. I have my health (although with the weight I have lost recently I will need to work on this).
    3. I have a roof over my head and some money in the bank.
I know this doesn't sound much but it's a start. A work in progress. My new life! - I hope.

Welcome Beachbaby!! Sorryto hear that you are going through a rough patch - feel free to celebrate our little pleasures/ successes and blessings of each day. Don't worry about having a rant or a grumble if you need to. We're here to help and support each other through good times and bad, and to see that even on the blackest days there can be a little chink of light in the darkness.
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Welcome beachbaby :hello: you're in a really good place here. Having your lovely daughters can count as two pleasures, finding us is another one so that could be 5 today - see, easy isn't it? ;)

Hope you keep coming back to post or just to read if you feel like it, but either way, as Ladyhawk says the support is here for each other

beachbaby - welcome. You're making a good start. Sometimes I think that just stopping and pausing for a moment's reflection in difficult times helps us to realise that sometimes we have more going for us than would appear at first sight. Hope more blessings come for you thick and fast.
  • Thank you all so much for your kind words - what a lovely group of people you are. I look forward to posting more, and it will give me the incentive to look for the positives in my life at the moment.
