    5. My mum coming to visit today for the weekend, looking forward to meeting her and going home for tea and aforementioned mince pies - and she is meeting OH for the first time, which is nervewracking, but at the same time, nice thought to have two of your closest people in the same place :A

Have a great weekend everyone x

    Hello all :A

Ollie - I do hope you are feeling better and that your BP goes down. Look after yourself please. I know what you mean about reviewing your lifestyle. My scare has made me look at mine and though I think it is basically a good lifestyle anyway, I am certain there can and will be improvements made. There is nothing like a wake up call.

Acey - hope it is not swine flu and that you are all OK?

Wild and windy today at Chez Muppet and the rain has just started to hit the window.

    My pleasures so far -

    1) Getting the chickens out into the garden for an hour. It has been so bad of late they rarely get a good wander in the garden. They loved it.

    2) As I need to keep busy right now, I have just finished blitzing the kitchen. It is all sparkly and nice. Hope Mr Muppet doesn't want feeding tonight ... I'm not messing it up again so soon :D

    3) Rang a special friend as it is her birthday today and we had a nice chat.

    4) I'm a Celeb back on tonight after missing it last night due to football

    5) Chilli made for tonights meal (I was only joking about not feeding Mr Muppet!) and all I need to do is pop some baking potatoes in the Remoska. Simples!

Have a good day all and hugs to anyone who is feeling poorly or down.

Thank you to you all for making me feel so welcome.

Ollie - Hope you are feeling better soon. Hopefully someone will of handed in the PE kit need to get in touch with the lost luggage people - I feel like I have a hot line to their office some weeks!!

    Mine for today are
    1. Getting two loads of washing done today as working from home
    2. Making a picnic dinner for our train journey to the North East tonight and adding bottle of wime to the basket to make it even nicer.
    3. Buying us all a magazine for the train and getting 2 of them reduced with coupons I had so only paid the price of 2 instead of 3.
    4. quick call to my mum and her telling me how much she is looking forward to seeing me tonight.
    5. Getting a big pile of ironing done this morning in the time it would have taken me to get to work.

  • Hello all, newbie alert!

Here's my first ever 5 OS Pleasures of my Day...

    1. Finally plucking up the courage to post on here today after lurking for months, and being welcomed with open arms by such lovely people!
    2. Having such fantastic advice to help clean off labels from our old wine bottles, so OH can bottle up his most recent home-brew tonight. :j
    3. Getting frozen HM lasagne out of the freezer for mine and OH's tea tonight. I love the feeling of it being HM yet there's no preparation work involved that day! :D
    4. Having friends message out of the blue saying how much they're looking forward to seeing OH and I when we go back to our home-town over Christmas.
    5. Looking out of the window this morning to see blue sky and white fluffy clouds instead of the miserable grey/black rain clouds we've had since the start of November, and it's not rained all day! Yay!

I hope everyone's having as good a day as I am.

  • Mine started off well but I feel a little frazzled at the moment

    1) Cleaned and tidied the house in record time this morning. Actually had time for lunch before ..
    2) Meeting a friend for a coffee and a chat. She has the prospect of a shiny new job and it's so good to see someone happy and doing well, rather than the doom and gloom we keep hearing
    3) Managed to post off two cards for our sponsorees in Uganda. I chose the hand-embroidered ones in Oxfam as we are not allowed to send a gift.
    4) Took DD to the church for a dance practice but it was already booked. We managed to spot her fellow dancer walking down to church as we went home so they are both in our kitchen, having rearranged everything, going over a routine for the Christmas show.
    5) Went to fetch the flowers for DD from her bf. It's her birthday tomorrow and he's arranged for six presents to be given to her throughout the day (he is at Uni). I do the first and the last, which seems appropriate.

Have a pleasant evening, everyone. Off to make pancakes for DD's breakfast tomorrow (family tradition)
  • Welcome Tealady & Miss_Imaginative lookin forward to hearing more of your 'pleasure'

    Today I have:-

    1. Spent some more time regaining my space and the rhythm of the house after our 6 week visitor.

    2. Cleaned the tiles in the bathroom with stardrops and white vinegar.

    3. Picked more leaves from the garden for our lunchtime salad - corn salad, lamb's lettuce, giant red mustard, land cress, raddishes and the thinnings of the spring onions made a tasty mix.

    4. Made vegetable frittatta and potato wedges for a nice cheap tea.

    5. Got the ironing up to date.
