    Hi all

Working from home today so could not start the "serious" slog until I came here to say hi and record my pleasures for yesterday:

1 - Leftover HM scones with HM plum jam (from the foraging) for breakfast

2 - DH and DS went to the allotment in the morning and finished the brassica cage

3 - I planted some brassica seeds in a tray and put it in my bedroom by the window (south facing, gets a lot of sunshine - when the sun shines, that is!). Now crossing fingers that a few plants are ready to put in the ground by the time I am back from Italy. DD and DS agreed to water regularly.

4 - Environmental fair in the afternoon with DH, very interesting even though we did not have a lot of time because we had to be back for family dinner.

5 - Family dinner. Upon DS's request that we have more family time together (I am amazed and delighted!) we decided that at least one day per week we would just eat and chill out together, the four of us, no friends, no boyfriends, no agendas. So we started this and it seems to take place on a Monday evening (so far). No formalities either, yesterday we ate a bowl of lentil and pasta soup sitting on the sofa and watching the Gadget Show and then a very interesting drama that DD and DS had suggested. Nothing exciting at face value, but just quiet time together. We don't always do this in front of the TV, it just happened this way yesterday. I hope we keep it up!

Now, work beckons *SIGH*. See you later for more pleasures.

    Love to all xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Morning all!

    Sunny here again-lovely!

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1)Sunny day

2)Trip across the bridge to St Fagins-free so only needed to pay to park.

3)Eating picnic lunch prepared by DH(he's getting one of us now!)

4)Watching all the young families and children enjoying the sunshine.

    5) Cold chicken, salad and chips for tea(making stock today) and apple crumble from yesterday.

    Take care all.

    Gintot.

    Morning!

Last day of the hols for me, so my to do list is huge:eek: and my motivation very small:rotfl:I will try to follow Caterinas example and make a start when I have finished here :o

    Yeaterday

    1. DD home! Unscathed by her adventures of which there were many. makes me want to go to a festival. May be V next year ? Or Glastonbury in aTipi? :)
    2. DS2 decided he didn't want to go to bus museum. He wanted to go back to BMX track. Had a great time until he fell off and got lots of splinters in is hand. Ouch! :(
    3. Nice dog walk with DH and doggie until DS2 had his accident.
    4. Xmas dinner in August at friends house. Their DD is off to Uni today (Scotland). Lovely time, but getting upset even now thinking about her going so far away. :(
    5. Lots of decluttering and washing done. Thanks to DD for the extra muddy festival washing!!!!!!!!:T Ha!

Isn't it nice to see the sunshine? :) HE x

Or perhaps next year's Vintage at Goodwood, http://www.vintageatgoodwood.com/home.aspx I am sure we could teach these young whippersnappers a thing or two about all things vintage heheehe:rotfl:

With regard to following my example - oh dear...:p

However, finished work for today, off to do mischief around the house!

    5 weeks today, Blimus O'Reilly! :D:D:D

Brain not working today, I thought the neighbours's guinea pig had asked sparrer to do some shredding...:o (I blame last night red wine for the fact ny brain obviously isn't in gear today...)

    My 5:

    1. Yummy pizza, served by a handsome Italian at a new restaurant...sigh..:D. Plus the red wine.

    2. Sorting a problem on my netbook out - it was annoying, and something that I thought would be harder to sort out than it actually was. All now tickety - boo.

    3. Going to the gym despite it being a Bank Holiday, so feeling virtuous.

    4. Coming home from the gym to smell my bread baking.

    5. A beautiful sunny day here in Bristol.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • :):)Hi All,

I like this thread so much I was wondering if i could please join in? :p

My first 5, for yesterday are:

    1. Went to Southend with my OH, my sister and her fiance and had a lovely time in the evening going on all the rides. My OH has had a fear of them for some years and it was great that he wanted to go on all the big ones! He spun me on a goldmine cart so fast i thought i was going to be sick! But in a fun way :rotfl:

    2. Am successfully in the midst of slowly weaning my OH off anti-anxiety medication (one off, one on so far) which really means a lot to us, as he has been on it for over 18 months and he barely seems to have noticed the difference as yet without half of them. He was in a bad way last year and i have suffered for it greatly too through his behaviour, but it all seems to be getting better now :)

    3. Listening to the sound of the waves while eating a hot doughnut with cream on top in a little cafe and smelling the salty air.

    4. Listening to the new Mumford and Sons album in the car on the way home. It's got a great OS vibe.

    5. Finding a nice book called "Glass Half Full" in a cheap bookstore which is about how pessimistic people (like me!) can change their views to optimistic to improve their quality of life, etc. A self-help book i know, but i enjoy the concepts all the same, plus it's in baby pink!

Have a lovely day everyone :)

    1. Got all our downstairs carpets shampooed this morning and with the lovely sunshine, the doors and windows have been open all day to help them dry.
    2. Another batch of tomatoes ready for picking tomorrow. As the freezer is pretty full they'll be turned into tomato soup tomorrow - so much nicer than Mr. Heinz.
    3. Have just been given a carrier bag full of lovely Victoria Plums so have got one batch of stewed plums gently simmering, and the other batch will be turned into plum jam tomorrow.

That's enough to keep me going.

A warm welcome to rablovesroo, I hope you will enjoy posting here and I am sure you will find it as addictive and inspiring as all the rest of us!

Here are my pleasures for the day:

1 - Working from home so avoided commute through London (and on such a lovely day!)

2 - Nice lunch of leftover soup thickened up with broken spaghetti

3 - DD persuaded me to cycle across Blackheath with her in stead of walking, to take DH's shoes to be repaired, and I managed it there and back (in one piece, even if a bit huffed and puffed).

4 - Before coming back we stopped at the usual "old people cafe" for tea and cake and had a lovely time there.

5 - Picked up a few more veg to cook dinner with. I am finding that I probably use 50% homegrown produce every day (in summer) in our meals. It gives me great satisfaction and makes me very grateful for what we have.

Have a nice evening everybody xxx

Caterina - the Goodwood festival looks great! Have you ever been?
rablovesroo - welcome. The 'Glass Half Full' book sounds just what I need too!
Blimus - Now I want to do the Brandy too :D

    Today

    1. Took two big carrier bags of stuff to the charity shop.
    2. Found DH a 'Superdry' shirt in another charity shop.
    3. HM Lasagne for tonights meal and beef stew in SC for tomorrow nights meal. (Stews are always better the next day aren't they?)
    4. The smelly hamster we have been looking after, while his owners have been away for a month, has gone home tonight. Hooray! It was much more smelly than our hamster. :)
    5. Went to the cinema with DS2 to see Marmaduke. Enjoyed it much more than Cats and Dogs II, but sad that this is our last trip of the hols :( DS2 is really good company. I will be very sad when he turns into a grumpy teen!

Have a lovely evening. HE x

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Made DD pancakes for her breakfast this morning before I went to work, this went down very well and in exchange she put the washing out.
    2. Took some of the ginger parkin from yesterdays baking session into work today. Went down very well especially with the Northern contingent in the office.:D
    3. Got the stationary DD needed for back to school without it costing a fortune
    4. Friends birthday so had a cup of tea and a custard tart with her and a quick catch up.
    5. Planning some family time for tomorrow evening and Thursday during the day before DD goes back to school on Friday

Hugs to all who need them
