CCP - I have one tomato plant in a very sheltered suntrap and its that one which the tomatoes are starting to become red. It is also a plant that I was given rather than grew myself. The others are just starting to become visible.
My five for yesterday are
1.Seeing a birdnest that had been blown onto the path. Looking at it it is so clever at how it is made and the centre of it is so soft.
2. DS1 arriving back from a week away and he was talkative and had enjoyed it. The weeks washing wasn't a pleasure though.
3. Cleaning the dining room and claiming the table back.
4. Listing books on green metropolis and stuff on ebay too.
5. Finishing my book0 -
Great photo Jex!
Yesterday's pleasures:
1) Had an early mooch round town and got some shoes in the sale for work - dog ate my other pair!
2) Got loads of washing done yesterday - managed to get it dry outside even though it was pretty overcast.
3) Took pup to his second gun dog session - trainer said he has come on enormously and is doing really well, OH and I were very proud of him and are really looking forward to trying the new stuff with him that the trainer showed us.
4) Stopped for afternoon tea on the way back from the trainer's...mmmmmm!
5) Saw a friend and his family who we haven't seen for ages which was lovely as they are a great bunch of people and we always have a giggle.
Looking forward to a fairly relaxed day, but may head off to the beach later to walk the dog.Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
Grandchildren again - my 3 rang last night, were on the phone for three quarters of an hour telling me what they've been doing (and the oldest asking how things were with me!) They live a long way away so it's so lovely to hear the enthusiasm for all their activities. What's funnier is that they only rang on Thurs to tell me what they'd been up to, keeping in touch with such frequency is so wonderful and what phones were invented for (as I tell myself when the bill comes in!) and fills me with delight that they wish to communicate so frequently and that they want to do it voluntarily rather than a 'duty call' prompted by mum or dad. And that is free as their phone is paid for as a perk of my son's work.
And animals, too. My daft chickens and their morning routines and endearing behaviour and funny noises, and the sight of my stupidly enthusiastic dog, we've just come back from a soggy walk and she's dripping all over the kitchen floor with a chewed ball in her mouth with such an excited look on her face!
Great isn't it - life!0 -
Patchwork QUILT- What a lucky thing to bump into your DS and his GF in the coffee shop! Really glad the accidental meeting went well.
Acey- Wow! Well done on the weight loss, that's fantastic!
Sparrer- How exciting to be going to India! A great friend of mine spent six months in Pakistan, she says it changed her life. (In a good way!)
Mineallmine- I loved your comment about dog's attitude, i know exactly what you mean! They could teach most of us a thing or two about getting the most out of life.
Caterina- Hope you are feeling a bit better now. I also have had a lot of job unhappiness. I really hope yours sort themselves out and you get some kind of balance in your work situation. ((hugs))
Nicksyg- Lol your doggie eating your shoes!!!!
Mine from yesterday:
1. DS telling me he loved me when I came downstairs in the morning and that I was the best mum in the whole world. (now what does he want???!)
2. Having the confidence to go to the gym for only my second only session. It was fun! I managed 15 mins on the cross trainer (though the super fit 70 year old next to me was putting me to shame!) and a total of an hour in the gym.
3. DH prepared me a late lunch of cheese and ham filled croissants for my return from the gym. Not exactly diet food but very yummy!
4. DS enjoyed using the newly sealed and finished bathroom for a shower and DD had her first bath in months in same. Both delighted
5. Watched QVC as Lulu Guiness was on there with her amazing handbags. I don't really want one but just enjoy seeing them and listening to the descriptions of their gorgeousness.
6. A NSD, the first in quite a while.
Our local park is hosting a family fun day picnic and general get-together today. I think its part of a national drive. Costs nothing, is easy to walk to and should be fun...
Have a great Sunday everyone.0 -

Yesterday. Sat.
1. I got paid on Thursday, but I did not go shopping, because the slow cooker was filled with a cobbler which I had to eat. I still had some left for breakfast.
2. Postie arrived, and in the mail was a communication from the tax office telling me that a rebate is to be paid into my account. The rebate is more than I had claimed.
3. Finally left the house to replenish the pantry. Bought loads of stuff in Home Bargains, the Co-op and Lidl. Bought enough potatoes and pineapples to feed a regiment from the market.
4. While surviving on the contents of the pantry this past week, I ran out of coffee; so I have bought a whole kilo of Mocha beans.
5. I liked surviving on the contents of the pantry for a couple of weeks so much, that I am going to do it again; so I have been going through non-negotiable bond brochures from a variety of banks, to see where I can dump what's left of the wages I earned pretending to work.0 -
Today, sitting in a lovely chair which I inherited from my grandmother, reading a novel I was lent by a dear friend at work. House quiet, cats sleeping nearby, all calm. Lovely!0

Seeing my lovley friends at their BBQ yesterday and being trusted to be the one to look after their amazing 2 year old this morning while they had a long lie. He's so well behaved and we read stories and had cuddles and tickles. Lovely X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

What a great idea for a thread. Mine today is knowing DD is stopping in after two hectic nights out celebrating her birthday with her friends. Was 5am this morning when I picked her up from the nightclub! It means I've been able to relax today and had a stroll round Botany Bay (the store) with DH.
