Today my friend who came to visit during the week phoned me to say she has shortened my sitting room curtains and I will pick them up tomorrow from her house all done. I am not very good at sewing as my hands don't work as well as they used to and she ,bless her took them home with her and done them on her machine for me .I am so pleased as they were far too long and it was one of those jobs that I never got around to doing. In the winter I used to have to fold them up on to the window sill so the heat from the radiator would reach the room.now they are ready for collection .She won't take anything for doing them so i have made her a nice HM fruit cake as a thank you.Plus my eldest DD dropped in for a coffee unexpectedly this afternoon and brought two Krispy Kreme doughnuts for us to share life just gets better by the minute0

1) Saturday morning lie in. A great way to start the weekend.
2) Brunch consisted of last night's left-overs - salmon, potatoes and broccoli - made into a frittata, accompanied by the inevitable home-grown salad and strawberries.
3) Found £5 that had been washed in my jeans pocket. This paid for our coffee date and we were able to have our usual size of latte instead of the economy version I was planning.
4) Whilst we were sitting there, we noticed DS's gf's parents come in. This was momentous. DS has been going out with this lovely girl for a year and we have never met her Mum, as she has been ill. She sent a message a while ago promising to meet up when she was better. Anyway, she came home from hospital on Friday but only for the weekend and there they were having a slice of cake in the seat by the window. We went up and shook hands and I feel so much better that it wasn't some big thing for anyone but just a couple of minutes in passing.
5) A walk around the garden and seeing the salad explosion in our pots, the apples bursting out from the apple tree and the rhubarb finally recovering from its seeding phase.
A good day. Masked ball this evening, which is very intriguing. Never been to a ball before.0 -
5 for today!
1) Sons went to their father's from 10-6.30 so I went to Hereford by myself. Got some birthday cards and the coat my sister wants for her birthday. Did the 2nd hand shops. I have lost a stone over the last 6 weeks and actually found some trousers that fit well! Ex M and S for £5. :-) They're size 16 and ever so slightly too big...
2) Went to my favourite cafe for lunch and had a piece of spinach, artichoke and Danish blue pie plus 2 salads.
3) Used my birthday voucher and got the boys a Wii game that I have forgotten the name of despite playing it a few minutes ago! Its the one where you "play" different musical instruments but not Guitar Hero.
4) Got home and did my car insurance via Quidco. Not much of a pleasure but its done now. Its still cheaper if I have my dad on as a named driver! I left home 17 years ago and have 14 years no claims but he is obviously still a stabilising influence on my driving!
5) The boys are home and happy.
6) Looking forward to Casualty later on.0 -

My wee cat gave birth to kittens today!:j
Sadly one died, but the other 2 seem to be fine. They're just so gorgeous and it's really sweet watching my cat being so protective of her babies.:)

Just finished my post and the lappy froze
Hope everyone had a good day, (((hugs))) whether you need or just want one
My 5
1. Spent £20 in Mr M, with bogofs etc it should have come to £36! I love it when the things I buy regularly are reduced :j
2. A very kind freecycler gave me a carrier bag of egg boxes for my friends who have far more chickens than they need
3. Coffee with a friend whose birthday is tomorrow, she's exactly a week older than me so I tease her mercilessly for those seven days
4. Gave the bathroom a real top to toe, it's all shiny now but why do they seem to get more dusty more quickly than any of the other rooms?
5. Captain Corelli's Mandolin on television right now, it reminds me of my home in the Greek islands.
6. Good 1p phone call, only a few minutes as lovely DF was just settling down for a nap but it's always lovely to have a wee chat.
Night night, sleepy tight

Hi everyone not been on here for ages.
1. My first pleasure is definitely seeing this picture. I love dogs, their energy for life and attitude. You can literally see how much he is enjoying being out there. Good to see he has a lifejacket on. They can doggie paddle but good to be on the safe side. Fab photo!:)
2. Decluttering like mad which is meaning that furniture can be moved to where it should be. The PC has left the lounge (no party required) and set up camp in a spare room. Look forward to welcoming (from storage) my table and chairs.
3. Putting solar lights up the other day. The gardens look a bit like a Disney setting but hey its my house and I can do what I want. Now where's that Snow White costume...... :rotfl:
4. Taking a relaxed attitude to shopping for food this weekend. Picking up bits. Cannot do all this decluttering and huge supermarket shops.
5. My cat waking me up by pawing at my hand. I tucked said hand under the duvet leaving the other one exposed. Aha thought the cat, lets paw at that one now. So funny!
Have great days everyone. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
