Caterina - What a horrid so-called "friend", but it's nice to know you have the kindness and support of real friends and family (And all of us OS'ers too!)

Here are my pleasures for yesterday:

    - DH working from home all day.
    - Visiting my sister as it was her 40th birthday, and seeing another family member I haven't seen for years while I was there.
    - Paying off a large chunk of our credit card with our winnings. :j
    - Visiting some small local shops and finding just what I wanted when all the supermarkets and chain stores had failed me.
    - Finding out about an event tomorrow that is taking place just at the top of my road. It sounds like good fun: bands playing, food stalls and games for the children etc.
    Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

    Hello everyone

Sorry for being AWOL this week we've been very busy.

Ladyhawk -sorry about your furbaby ((hugs))
Acey - Well done you for keeping it together, your lovely personality shone through. I really do believe in karma and you should feel very proud of yourself.

Right, here's a few blessings for me and as usual a fair few are about DS, but I am one proud Mummy.

    1. My boy is not sporty and prefers to dig in the garden, build lego, make things (bit like me:) Anyhoo, he did a little act of random kindness that made us VERY proud of him on Wednesday.
He has not got a competitive bone in his body , so sauntered in his races, stopping to give us thumbs ups and wave at the class 3 girls!! During the egg and spoon race, he was actually in the lead. Anyhoo one of his little girlyfriends lost her name badge as she ran up the field and got a bit upset. He put his egg and spoon down, ran off to retrieve her badge, chased her stuck it on her jumper, ran back to collect his egg and spoon and finished last. He got the biggest cheer from his class !! I was one proud Mummy.Twas interesting too as there are one or two erm lets say very competitive parents with sporty kids, one of these kids didn't win any races and cried and had to sit on his Mums knee, as he was so upset :(

    2. Got DS first school report and he's coming on lovely and his headteacher says he almost bursts with enthusiasm :)

    3. Went to a meeting in our village on Wednesday night about the possiblilty of a bypass through our village - the traffic is appalling and we get a LOT of lorries that shouldn't be coming through etc. Anyhoo no money for a bypass but my hubby suggested a few alternatives they are going to investigate - he should get a fee!! just felt better for having my say really. We walk to school everyday and I hate taking DS near the blardy road.

    4. Made some lovely bread yesterday and I'm going to make some chilli jam in a moment.

    5. Had a schoolfriend of DS round with his Mum yesterday which went well. I really tidied up beforehand so I can mess about today :)

    6. not working this weekend.

    7. was our 14th wedding anniversary on Tuesday. I asked DH what he wanted, he ahem said something along the line of conjugals, I said a big box of chocs. My chocs are lasting longer - tee hee :P

Evening, all. Whew, it's a hot one! Just got off the bus and put my head into a basinful of water! Whew! Anyway, here's my pleasures for today:

    1. Having an NSD. I'm getting in the NSD habit now :D
    2. Getting my magazine by subscription. In it was a sample of an invisible plaster and a face wash. Happy me! And it had a free book on it :D
    3. Not snacking. Haven't snacked on a single thing all day.
    4. Office barbecue. I got a burger at the event and it was nice to enjoy lunch with other colleagues.
    5. Getting off the bus - boy was it crowded and hot!

Anyway, take care everyone. I'll post a bit more thoroughly tomorrow, but I am thinking of everyone. (((hugs))) to those in need.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Evening all. This is a bit of a flying post I'm afraid, as my dinner's in the oven and I don't want it burning (it might burn me, though - I think I slightly over-did the chilli! :o).

    My 5 for today:

    1) A perfect summer's day. :)

    2) Slice of HM coffee and walnut cake from a colleague at work to celebrate her birthday. She put ground walnuts in with the cake batter, so it was super-moist and

    3) On my way to work I noticed the arrival of an Italian food market, so I popped down to get some smoked mozzarella, which is practically impossible to find anywhere else round here. I wasn't even tempted to buy anything else :A. (Largely because everything else was covered in flies. Luckily the smoked mozzarella has been shrink-wrapped, otherwise I wouldn't have touched it. _pale_)

    4) Found some finest-type croissants reduced to 59p in the Co-op on my way back. That's tomorrow's breakfast sorted. :D

    5) Watching my cat chase off an intruder moggy. He's usually a right coward and gets me to do it. :rotfl:

    6) Last but definitely not least - it's Friday! :j Actually, I've had a dreadful week, so I think that calls for :j:j:j:j

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

Am feeling a lot better today.

    1) My lovely Fee waking me up at 6.30 this morning for his breakfast and reminding me that I still have one of my gorgeous boys.

    2) Going out for lunch with two of my nice male colleagues. Pity the lunch was soooo dreadful! Who knew you could get fish & chips so wrong!

    3) Yummy carrot cake samples

    4) My work week is over... phew!

    5) It's warm and sunny... I just love summer so much.

    6) Am thinking about getting another furry friend for Felix... I know its soon but there are plenty of kitties out there that need a home - especially older cats which is what I would prefer. Or maybe I oculd foster some though I am not sure how Fee would like that or if it would be acceptible given that I can travel about with work quite a bit at times.

    7) Signing up to move from BT to Virgin... will be saving about £10 a month and will be getting TV thrown in.

    Have a lovely weekend.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

5: Had an afternoon snooze (for 3 hours!!!!)

    Have a good evening.

    Evening

Sparrer - Hope everything is fine with you, have missed your posts the last couple of days. Hugs to you
CCP - Hope you have a better week next week
Ladyhawk - Glad you are feeling a little brighter

    Pleasures for today:
    1. Being able to help the lovely J who sits next to me at work and has listened to my moans all week
    2. 15 minutes on the Wii fit this morning, not much but a start in the right direction. I walked home from work as well even though it was very hot
    3. Box of cereal in the post to trial and DD really likes it. She is really fussy with cereal and eats it dry so this is good
    4. Someone at work buying ice lollies not good for the diet but very yummy and just what we needed
    5. Cooked HM chips for OH and DD and I resisted, well except one. I needed to check they were cooked;)

Hugs to all who need them

    A mixture of yesterday's and today's pleasures here -
    1) DD has a summer job! She will be going into the local curry restaurant on a rather random basis, but it pays well and she gets a meal when she works. She went in for training the other day and she got her tips too. Hopefully, this will work out, as her last boss was a bit of a slave driver and never gave her any of the tips she earned.
    2) Managed to save a pair of lovely trousers that I had bought from the charity shop and then made too short. Luckily, I had made quite a large hem. Then, I repaired a skirt that belongs to a quite expensive suit but the hem was coming down and I hadn't had the energy to put back. I don't know why I leave my mending for so long.
    3) Made some lemon curd today and sold it at DH's work for charity. It's called HopeHIV and they actually give you £10, hoping that you will use it to buy the ingredients for a dinner party or whatever and then charge people to come so that you make more back and send it to them.
    4) Went on a cheap date with DH this evening - had a proper picnic in the park with cutlery and everything. There was home-grown salad, chicken and a mini bottle of wine with chocolate raisins for dessert - a bit random, I know but it was because it was all in the yellow sticker section. Then we went for a coffee at a pub we have been meaning to visit for ages.
    5) Managed to transfer some of the important files from the computer upstairs to this laptop so that I can use it for work - with the help of the lovely teenage boys lurking around the house.

and lastly, there was an accident in town today at a point where the road is very narrow. There were five or six young lads directing the traffic and keeping things moving. One of them was in bare feet on the hot tarmac. It looked as if he had just got out of bed in one of the houses nearby. I was impressed at their public spirit.

My pleasures for the past few days.

1.Seeing a sunflower out in a garden down the road. I love them but have stopped growing them as the slugs always eat them.

    2. I think this is one seeing a snake while walking the dog yesterday. It is the first time in a few years that I have seen one. It did slither off quickly thankfully.

    3. Managing without going to a supermarket for a few days so had storecupboard teas which nobody seemed to mind.

    4. Drying all the washing outside including duvets which I very rarely wash!

    5. Meeting a friend for a coffee and a gossip at a local garden, beautiful surroundings.

    6. My first green beans are nearly ready to be picked.

    7. Sorting out my kitchen cupboards and finding some bits that DS1 can take to uni providing he gets the grades.

    8. Started using some lovely shower gel that I was given for my birthday in May but waited until I had finished all the half finished ones lying around before I treated myself.

Hugs to all that need them at the moment.
