Ladyhawk - I hope the furbabe is feeling better. Sending soothing healing vibes your way xx
Tealady - Thinking of you (((hugs))) It's difficult to find the positive things, but well done
Niksyg - I envy you a walk by the sea. It's been a while since we went to the coast and I love the sea.
Here's my pleasures for today:
1. Going for a drink with some friends. It was good catching up and it was a really lovely evening.
2. Finding a whole haslet at Mr M's with a yellow sticker onIt was sliced and ready to go - loads of slices for £1.19
It's now in the freezer
3. Likewise, only spending £6.57 but ending up with a lot of food to show for it. Happy days. Mind you, the main shop is tomorrow night so I'm not looking forward to that.
4. Trying pear cider for the first time! It's lovely, but I wish I'd had something in my stomach first. Whoo!
5. Getting home 10 minutes earlier than usual despite the bus breaking down.
Ugh, there haven't been many good points to the main part of the day. It got better when I got home, which was nice. I got so stressed today that I nearly had a bit of a breakdown and was muttering to myself in a singsong voice at people that got on my nerves. Looking back I feel really sorry about that, but sometimes it drives you to it. I hope tomorrow will be better but right now I'm not looking forward to it. Have a nice evening, everyone.

Good afternoon all,
tealady - thinking of you, (((HUGS)))
A big welcome to the newbies too .
We had a very busy day here yesterday as it was DD's first birthday and we had lots of visitors all day and DD was spoilt rotten!
Here are yesterdays pleasures:
- Making homemade butterfly cakes and millionaires shortbread for our buffet birthday lunch. I had enough leftover sandwiches and rolls for lunch today too.
- Seeing lots of family and catching up on all the news.
- Putting DD in her new trike and wheeling her up and down the garden, hearing her giggling with delight at going fast.
- Moving the furniture around in the living room and making better use of space.
- Early night for DD as she was exhausted (as were DH and I!) so I could relax infront of the TV for a couple of hours before bed.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I can categorically say that I have not had one pleasure today.
I had to take my gorgeous boy to the vet for the last time. I am devestated.
Rest in peace Toupe.Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
I'm so sorry, Ladyhawk. I've lost cats before so I know how hard it is - hugs to you.Back after a very long break!0

Hi I am new here,
but (((((hugs))))) to ladyhawk, pets are family
I love the ideas of positives in every day.
So today.
1. I spent the whole morning working (first for 2 months)
2. Watched little dog sat guarding the back door on the decking
looking like a hair sphynx, she sits for hours in the evening like
this.
3. Getting all the things on my "list" done before the end of the day
4. Washing up to date and dry
5. Not needing to pop up the allotment to water as it is going to
chuck it down in a minute. My finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -
Hello everyone.
I feel slightly mean posting about pleasures after Ladyhawk's news - I'm really sorry!
I've actually had a rather better day today than recently, topped off by my manager muttering darkly about the competence (or lack of it) of the colleague in another department who's been causing me such problems. Petty, I know, but :rotfl:
My pleasures for today:
1) The nice dog-walker who stopped to see me out of my driveway this morning. It's on a corner and people tend to park on both sides, making it difficult to see if anyone's coming when pulling out - it's much easier with someone nice watching for oncoming cars.
2) Met up with my closest friend from work while she was on a cigarette break. She works in a different area at this time of year, and it was nice to have a quick catch-up.
3) M&S have started selling wasabi peas. My waist-line may never forgive them!
4) A slightly involved pleasure, this one, but a good one: I stopped to listen to a very talented busker while out at lunchtime, and thought that his voice sounded rather familiar. A quick chat revealed that he's the lead singer of a band who released some singles last year that I greatly admired, and he's promoting a gig in the area next week. Ticket prices are very reasonable so I might well pop down. (The fact that I've now discovered he's as easy on the eye as on the ear has nothing to do with that decision, obviously.)
5) Pickled some cucumber that was too soft to eat raw, the first time I've tried something like that. I've had a warm slice from the pan and it's very tasty indeed.
6) I finally found some chips, and will be having them for dinner tonight.********************savingforarainyday - welcome to the thread! :hello: Can you send some rain my way, please? My garden could do with a drink and there's no sign of it here.
mollythewestie - ooh, butterfly cakes - my favourites! Is it worrying that I can never resist pulling the wings off and eating them first?
Kitchenbunny - I hope you've also had a better day today - it sounds like you really need and deserve it.
Tealady - hugs to you, and well done for managing to find some pleasures on an unpleasant day.
niksyg - that's great news about the hospital appointments. :j
GirlySquare - I admire people who are organised enough to get their cars valeted. Mine has to cope with having the occasional bucket of water chucked over it, but only if it hasn't rained recently.
RainyWednesday - hope your rittens are doing well. I never knew that's what baby rats were called, so that's my new fact for the day.
Patchwork Quilt - WD on supporting your local economy. I try to do that as well, but don't always succeed as well as you have.
bwoomama - welcome to you. :hello: The computer 'stuff' will get easier with practice, I'm sure.Back after a very long break!0 -
Ladyhawk - So sorry to hear your news, thinking of you (((HUGS)))Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
