Here's my five for the day:
1. Getting the kitchen cleaned. OK, so I broke a glass, but I got an awful lot of cleaning done. I cleaned half the cupboards, washed the floor and all the sides, got 2 loads of washing done.
2. Got the place hoovered.
3. Got the bathroom cleaned and everywhere feels really clean now. I'm happy as I've been really busy lately and it's good to get caught up.
4. All the washing I've done is dried and airing at the moment (can't face doing the ironing just yet - still a bit warm). Most of it was dried outside.
5. Finding a tube of chocolate cake decorative stars and eating them.It is a pleasure, but what the lips enjoy, the hips employ!
6. Tomato plants are still doing well.
7. It's been a nice day.
8. DH bringing me a cup of tea in bed. Bless him.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. We've fajitas for tea to use up some of the veg in the fridge.

mollie and dh congratulations on your lottery win!
CCP well done on dealing with your colleague so effectively
Ladyhawk hope your furbabe turns up soon
Mine for the past couple of days:
1) breakfast in bed
2) cuddles from dd
3) enjoying a bowl of chips with mayo outside the pub on Friday lunchtime with work friend
4) reading Imperium by Robert Harris. Like Fatherland this is a cracking good read
5) getting some 'me time' whilst dp took dd out food shopping this morning"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
HE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! and even managed a tiny piece of chicken!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Ladyhawk I was just going to reply with some suggestions from my own panics but I'm soooo pleased I didn't have to! :j:T:j0

Good evening all
Sparrer - Now I can use the timer I can have fresh bread in the morning!!! Something else to hinder me keeping the weight off!!!
Ladyhawk - that must be a huge relief to you!! I hope he gets better soon.
Mine for today
1. As I didnt get a lie in , I cleaned the kitchen and dinning room and hoovered downstairs.
2. Dh put together the patio chairs and heater that have been in the shed for several years!!! So rearranged the patio and if anyone wants to see I have put a little piccy on my blog! I love it out there, and spent late afternoon/evening sat with music on my phone watching the kids play. Bliss!
3. Decided this morning we would have a bbq so put the BM on to dough for rolls and got stuff out of the freezer so didnt need to buy any food for it.
4. Kids tidied away all their toys in the house before going to garden to play and then tidied away their toys in the garden before coming in!!!!
5. Realised today that out of the last 6 days, 5 (yes 5) have been NSD's including today!!! :T
Have a good evening everyone.0 -
Sounds like a fairly full day ACEY, if your cuppa with your neighbour is like mine the world was put to rights this afternoon
I agree with your No 1 villagelife, long may it last. Please send your DS's when they've finished your sisters garden, I can find some chores fro them in mine
Gosh Patchwork a free lappy for your DS, what an amazing gift! Re sticky notes, you're not alone. The only ones I know are little squares of yellow paper with a gluey edge.
You've worked hard in the house kitchenbunny, how do you do it in the heat? I tend to wilt by mid morning so do my work in the evenings
You sound very lucky GirlySquare, breakfast in bed, cuddles, having some you time - what a lovely family you have
nuttybabe enjoy your breakfast bread...I will def give the timer a try this week Your patio (I had a peep) looks super, it's almost the size of my whole garden :rotfl:
My 5
1. Furpets woke me at 8am, so no lie-in but enjoyed my cuppa in the garden
2. Vacuumed the ceilings. I seem to have a plague of skinny spiders and don't mind them too much but not over my bed or sharing my shower
3. Nothing from postie, that's twice in a week - not good enough. The village booklet came though the door though, with lots of interesting things to do locally in the summer
4. Delish seafood pasta for dinner
5. Fun evening out with friends
Night night, sweet dreams

Evening
Ladyhawk - glad the furbabe turned up and managed to eat something.
Pleasures for today:
1. Mushrooms and poached egg on toast for breakfast
2. DD receiving some cleansing wipes in the post thanks to the freebies board
3. Using the family railcard to get to Weybridge so fare was really cheap then there was a free bus service laid on to take us to the venue. I was realy pleased as it is quiet a long walk
4. Concert with DD which she enjoyed so much, lots of singing and dancing which is really unusal for her.
5. Spending quality time with DD and her giving me a huge hug before she went to bed and told me she loved me. Her being a teenager this doesn't happen to much these days.
Hugs to all who need them, I'm off to bed now as its very late for me0 -
Evening all
I really must go to bed soon
1. Day off work - yay !!
2. Spent a few hours in garden potting up seedlings and transferring plants to bigger pots.
3. Stole lots of cuddles from DS.
4. Starting making my elderflower cordial this evening. DH said does that stuff smell funny or is it you? charming
5. Got a load of washing dry on the line.
nighty night

4/366. 2016 Decluttering challenge0 -
Heigh ho - have been trying not to sink into the mire and it's felt very tough this week. So to lift myself out of the doom and gloom here are the five pleasures from the last few days that I posted last night (but the system ate the post so it vanished):
1. Catching up on the posts here. Thank you everyone.
2. DS2 finished his last exam this week and since DS1 polished his off a week earlier, the academic stress levels in the house have dissolved.
3. I've been helping DS1 assemble an exhibition for something he's got coming up and it's looking really good. I've been remembering how much I like doing this kind of thing and how good I am at it.
4. We went to visit one of our local wildlife experts and he is so happy and jolly and enthusiastic about his subject that it's great fun to be around him. He looks (I think) like a slightly too tall hobbit which fits him really well.
5. I picked up a copy of the Collins Gem book 'Food for Free' very cheaply.
And here are five more for today, if that's OK:
1. Beautiful rural drive this afternoon to drop DS1 at g/f's.
2. Talking to a very nice cop when I was parking illegally to pick up some last minute bits of art materials in town on the way back home. He said he didn't mind one bit that I was parking there but to keep an eye out for traffic wardens. Lovely man. Hope he goes far!!!
3. Popped into Mr S on the way home as well to buy foodie treats because I was feeling very sorry for myself and I discovered that the points on my card covered the bill so it didn't feel quite so extravagent.
4. Did some more experimenting with rug making. Have now got two going in parallel. One is the coiled and crochet type one using thick strips of fabric - mostly old jeans - and the other is a latch-hook one using all the little bits of left overs from this as well as my old t-shirts. All very experimental but I'll see how it goes.
5. A HM '99' icecream cornet for pudding. (Sounds so much better and somehow less calorific when you put that it was HM)
Sweet dreams
