    Happy birthday, Acey!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Drinks with friends in the evening, at a lovely pub down by the river. It was great to sit outside and watch people sailing and canoeing, and see the very cute ducks waddling around.

    2. Good day at work - out at a favourite client in the morning.

    3. Reading some great online fiction.

    4. Good session at the gym and seeing my gym buddies.

    5. Arranging a night out at a great local curry house which specialises in healthy Bengalese cooking. Something to look forward to!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ACEY! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Hey all :) hope you are well! Only popping in for mine at the mo, but will read the others in a few mins!

    Here are mine for today:

    1. Getting a shower on my own. You have no idea how amazing it was to unplug my subcut, take out the set and have a shower without worrying about a piece of equipment being attached to you!
    2. Working out how to wear a dress. Again another subcut issue I was worried about but I seem to have found a way round it! Wahoo!
    3. Getting a good nights sleep last night. Even though I'm tired now, but that's not unusual
    4. Having a fun time planning my meals for the next week- I swear it's more fun than ever before!
    5. Eating my first raspberry from my raspberry bush. OMG it was amazing. I don't usually like raspberries but seem to now.....!

Have a good day all :)

    Afternoon everyone!

    Acey - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I have really enjoyed my day off today... sun is shining, the birds are tweeting... and I'm not in the office!

    1) Took Furbabe1 to the vet again this morning and saw the senior vet who gave him a seriod injection to stimulation digestion and encourage him to eat. I don't know why the lady I say last night didn't do that! Anyway he has perked up a little and even asked for some food even though he didn't eat much.

    2) Pottered in the garden and decided to cut back my rather large laurel hedge. I paid about £400 last year (I think... it could have been more!) for someone to come and cut it back for me. I have had a good go at it today and I am rather pleased with the results. Not so pleased with the rather large blisters on my hands though. I will just keep snipping away at it until it is a more managable size or I have killed it.

    3) Finished my book - Marley & Me. I cried.

    4) Going to watch Pearl Jam tonight! Woohoo! I am going with two of my brothers and my SIL.

    5) Got all of my washing done and most of it dried.

    Have a lovely weekend

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Happy Birthday Acey!!! Hope you've had a great day, and that the evening is just as lovely :)

Here's my five pleasures for today:

    1. I got a hug from the train conductor for being cheerful. It was a bit of a surreal moment, but it was nice.
    2. Getting another couple of cherry tomato seedlings from work (proceeds to charity @ 50p each) for the garden. And I managed to get them home on public transport unscathed!
    3. Having a positive day. Instead of feeling negative about things, I'm trying a different approach of "choosing" how I see a situation and trying to find the positives rather than the negatives. It's an empowering feeling.
    4. Getting home from work and taking my hair down. Always nice to let your hair down on a Friday!
    5. The weekend is here.

It's been a warm one, so I'm going to cool off for a bit. I think a cold footbath is in order :D Have a lovely evening everyone.

    (((hugs you all)))

    Afternoon all.

I woke up this morning feeling rather grumpy for some reason, but surprised myself by having a really good day. :)

    1) My work colleagues bought me a lovely pair of Venetian glass earrings for my birthday tomorrow. So sweet of them! :)

    2) In my office (probably in most offices) we have a tradition of taking in cakes on your birthday. I took in strawberries and clotted cream instead, and they went down really well - I was asked if I could have a birthday every day! (And I didn't mind as both the strawberries and cream were on special offer - don't tell my colleagues, though, eh? ;))

    3) Sold my BBQ - that's an extra tenner to buy lunch for my sister and her partner when they come to visit tomorrow.

    4) Walked through the meadow in the park in the middle of Portsmouth at lunchtime. It's full of wild flowers, and so pretty.

    5) I'm going to fire up my remaining BBQ this evening - sounds much nicer than standing in a hot kitchen cooking sausages. smiley-eatdrink061.gif (Hopefully not, but it made me smile!)

Kitchenbunny - good for you for trying to look at things differently. I really hope it makes you feel more positive.

Ladyhawk - hugs to your poor furbabe. smiley-hug011.gif I hope you have a great time at the gig tonight.

Broomstick - thanks for the mention of haloumi - I haven't had that in ages and you've made me remember how much I like it. It might just make its appearance on next week's mealplan, I think.

Acey - hope you had a lovely birthday. It's a real shame about the money being used to pay off the loan - you'd think they'd let you choose what to do with it as it's your money. smiley-confused005.gif

Tealady - have a lovely time at the tennis tomorrow.

And have a lovely evening, everyone.
