Zarazara - I pass a afield full of poppies on way to work and it definately is a pleasure looking at them.

    1. England winning.
    2. DS1 cooking tea. I had put potatoes in oven but he made fillings.
    3. A less hectic day at work than I had anticipated and leaving on time more or less.
    4. Another NSD.
    5. More home grown salad leaves I must sew some more seeds.
    6. Reading more of my book.

Morning all. Here are my (rather delayed) pleasures from yesterday:

    1) A singing tiger came into the office as part of the kid's toy and book club delivery: it was actually rather annoying after the first couple of times, but people's reactions were wonderful to watch!

    2) Went to watch the football in my local pub, and ended up sitting with a very nice group of people, plus a seriously cute dog. :)

    3) One of the group mistook me for a university student. I haven't been of student age for many years, so it was rather flattering. :D

    4) And England won. Thank goodness.

    5) My sole double-flowered nasturtium has a flower on it, and very pretty it is too. (I planted loads of seeds, but only one germinated for some reason.)

Have a pleasant day, everyone - I'll pop in and do a proper catch-up at lunchtime.
Back after a very long break!
  • Morning all, hope all is well:

    Mine for yesterday

1- Hooray for England! I watched in a bar where I could get 25% off drinks so kind of OS!

2- Some slowcooked chicken in peppers from the freezer with baby potatoes and spinach for tea

3 - a homemade carrot cake muffin for breakfast

4 - cancelled my Weightwatchers monthly membership in the hope I'll be able to go it alone

5 - started christmas shopping by buying some bits in the Cath Kidston sale. I've never been this organsised before!

Thanks, Ginger Snap, I'll see if I can borrow that from the library.

Acey, great news ref the cheque!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Boss said we could all go home early because of the footie! It's not my thing but I was grateful for the time off!

    2. Sorting out more things on my new netbook - upgraded the memory, installed some progammes, etc.

    3. New season NCIS in the evening - I love that show! (and the men on it...:D)

    4. Yummy savoury rice for tea, using up odds and ends.

    5. Good session in the gym - I felt really energised afterwards.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Not such an eventful day today. However I consider that every day is a blessing.

Your description of cleaning the bathroom after a shower reminded me of me sparrer. I always feel the need to do this just as I am about to have a shower. Can't stand cleaning the bathroom at any time really and you can add to that the ironing, which if I don't do before 9am it doesn't get done.

Will try and squeeze out a few blessings for today.

    1) Received 1 free Tea bag in the post and a £1 money off coupon.:D
    2) Picked a lovely bunch of scented roses from the garden for my vase.
    3) Managed to motivate myself enough to hoover and dust the front room. Glad it's done now.

I think that's about it for today. Told you I'd had an uneventful day:D

    Evening everyone! :)

Well fingers crossed things are looking up for me and OH after a long period of difficult times...Mine for today:

    1. Occupational health session this morning went well, the lady said I looked better already and more "serene". I told her that it sounded like a swan, and like a swan my little legs were going nineteen to the dozen under the water! She is going to write to work to suggest that if I continue to make progress I could return to work in Sept with the new school intake.

    2. I popped into Dunelm mill on the way home and bought two face flannels in colours I thought matched the soon to be tiled bathroom. When home, I was delighted to find they do indeed match brilliantly so will return to pick up what we need for the kids. Even better they seem to have a sale on some of the stuff.

    3. The tiler arrived, as promised, this morning. We have had such bad luck with tradesmen not doing what they say they are going to I had almost lost faith in ever getting anyone to follow through with anything. Anyway, he is doing a good job though he did take about 6 coffee and fag breaks and a long lunch hour sitting in the garden (!). Then he said it was too hot and went home at half 2. I am very glad indeed we are paying for the job not by the hour lol.

    4. My OH had two phone calls about jobs today, one quicky job for tomorrow morning and another much bigger job that he's gone to suss out tonight. He is so much happier knowing all his electricians training is not wasted and we should have some money coming in soon.

    5. Cooked the kids and myself an easy tea of oven chips, eggs, beans and bacon tonight. Used the cheap Lidl bacon misshapes and kids said it was the best bacon they had ever tasted! lol

    Have a good evening everyone.

    My Five Pleasures for today:

    1. Waking up with the sun. I didn't feel tired at all this morning! Most unusual for me :D
    2. Getting some clothes dried outdoors when I got home from work. They feel lovely and soft. :)
    3. Chicken Tikka Skewers with salad for tea. Yum!
    4. Attempting to do some exercise. I'm noticing I've got a distinct podge forming.
    5. Generally not feeling too bad. :)

Have a lovely evening, everyone. :)

Hi all, been really busy with work and everything...

    1. Sunshine - nice sitting in the park at lunch
    2. Working back near lots of shops that sell lovely shiney sparkley things and so far not having crossed the threshold of any of them ;)
    3. Finding out I had £15 worth of sainsbug nectar vouchers so managed to buy shopping even though my pay hasn't cleared.
    4. I've now done 4 days this week and am not nearly as tired as the 3 days last week.
    5. My attitude towards this job is different from when I did it last time, so although some things have irritated me, it's not so important or so upsetting as it seemed last time round ;) Guess that's growing up :p
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

3 - invite to eat lunch with some work colleagues, nice to feel included
4 - homemade beanburgers for tea (fingers crossed they turn out alright)
5 - the fella is on his way home so I'll be able to curl up with him tonight
