5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Hi Everyone,
A few extra ones for today...
6) The concert was really good, especially as my youngest brother paid for my ticket! I was reminded why I don't really like Hyde Park as a venue - it's just too big. They played most of my favourite songs but sadly not "Last Kiss" but I guess it is not really a festival type of song.
7) Train into London was delayed for 40 minutes so I will be claiming compensation (that's the pleasure not the delay!)
8) Furbabe1 asked for biscuits and ate them all when I got home. The steriods obviously did the trick in stimulating his appitite.
So... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CCP!!!
And I am glad I made you smile Nuttybabe
Night night all...

I didn't manage to post yesterday so here are mine for a couple of days.
1. The weather - sunny and hot.
2. Walking my dog in the early morning when it is still slightly chilly. A great time to be out.
3. Making HM quiche for tea which the family enjoyed and enough left to freeze.
4. Ironing completed and all washing done on cheap electricity and dried on the line.
5. A drink at the pub and sitting out on the green in the warmth at 10 drinking locally produced cider.
6. Watching /listening to Wimbledon.
7. Fresh flowers in the house.
8. Washing out my wheelie bin not itself a pleasure but it now doesn't smell which is a pleasure.
9. A pilates class yesterday - it does make my back feel better.0 -
A bit late but mine for yesterday:
1. Met a friend for lunch and a smoothie in town, my treat as its her birthday. Took her back to her house so we could have cuppa and I could see her new conservatory, very nice indeed. Though I was kind of relieved that it didn't make me want one in the slightest.
2. Persuaded OH to walk with me round the field a few times, more training for Sunday.
3. Our lovely postman said he wants to sponsor me for Sunday, incredibly kind of him as he hasn't much money.
4. Whoopsied chicken kiev with salad potatoes and mustardy mayo and broccoli for tea.
5. Was contacted by a new friend to ask if we could get together in the next couple of weeks.
6. OH has work for three days next week!!!!! That's the first time ever since he became self-employed last December. Am keeping everything crossed it will continue...
7. Waking earlyish this morning and enjoying brekkie croissants and coffee on the decking with the kids. Getting big hugs from my DS too. Bless him, I love it that he is still cuddly at 9 yrs old.
Have a great weekend everyone!0 -
A happy birthday to CCP!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. New season The Mentalist on TV.
2. Visit from my brother and his girlfriend.
3. Carrying on emptying the house.
4. Good session at the gym - my knees seem better now.
5. Completing the month's grocery shopping and coming in well under budget.
Off now to do a class at the gym. Have a good day, everyone.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -

Have a fantabulous day! :bdaycake:0 -
Morning all. Thank you very much for your birthday wishes.
I had an unexpectedly early start to my birthday when the building's burglar alarm went off at 1.15 this morning - it's supposed to be disconnected but we had a power cut which seemed to short circuit it somehow. It screamed for at least 20 minutes before someone worked how to turn it off. The relief when it stopped was a very early pleasure for today, though!
wssla00 - that's great news about the festival tickets. I hope you have a lovely time.
villagelife - locally produced cider. You've got me all jealous now!
Ladyhawk - I'm glad your furry's feeling better. (I've been meaning to ask - which variety of furry is he? I'm guessing he's a cat but I don't want to assume and offend him if I'm wrong.)
sparrer - I'd never thought of offering bluebell bulbs on freecycle. I'm always having to dig them up to stop them taking over, so I might try that next time rather than just throwing them away.
Acey - I hope you have a lovely day today - your description of what you plan to do sounds quite wonderful. I'd rather like to come and join you, actually.
Caterina - I'm glad to know you and your OH are enjoying your new jobs. And well done to both your DD and DS for their acheivements. :T
zarazara - there's nothing more relaxing than a purring cat when you get home, is there? Mine was in a cuddly mood this morning, which is quite unusual when the weather's hot. Maybe the burglar alarm upset him as much as it did me.
freakyogre - welcome to the thread, and I hope your foot gets better soon. Thanks for posting the pic of the flowers - they're really lovely - what nice colleagues you have.
nuttybabe - WD on your Tesco refund. How did you manage that? I've never got anything from my local store except excuses of why it wasn't their fault.
I must go as my sister will be arriving for lunch soon (sans partner as he got very drunk last night and is apparently too hungover to travel) - have a lovely day, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Happy Birthday CCP! I hope you have a fab day
(((hugs)))
I'll post my pleasures later as the day isn't over yet

Evening all,
What a beautiful day! Oh but my hayfever has been the price!
CCP - you are quite right - my furbabes are kitties. I have a very cute, and fat black and white one and a white one with black marking with a face that only a mother could love!! They have lovely temperaments and a such a pleasure to be slave to.
1) Baking up a storm for my brother's birthday picnic in Hyde Park. I made brownies, bread and cupcakes which were all very well received even if the brownies were rather fudgy and gooey!
2) Had a really nice time in the park with my brothers and SIL and FSIL.
3) Gorgeous sunshine
4) NSD
5) Getting a seat on the very packed train home from London this evening. One train had been cancelled and the next one was a short one... grrr...
Night night everyone and enjoy the glorious sunshine tomorrow!
