Thanks Tealady... think I'd rather be going round to your inlaws for lamb shanks though! They're one of my favourites!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0

Good evening everyone.
Mine for today...
1. DD back from the Isle of Wight, really lovely to see her and great to hear she's had a fab time!
2. OH's friends arrived to collect their chickens we were looking after for them while they were in Thailand. They brought us thank you chocs, tulips and a bottle of vodka for OH. It was great to have a really good catch up with them over coffee.
3. Talking of coffee, I have managed to cut back from having 7 or 8 coffees a day to about 2. Initially I had a funny headache but it seems to be passing and I am a lot less jittery and sleeping better.
4. OH and I went for a browse around Home Bargains again and found 29p packs of gorgeous stickers so I got 15 packs for party bags for DD's party in the summer. I love that shop! Then we went for a wander around the charity shops....
5. This evening OH went out to the pub so I watched a bit of footy with DS ( what an awful game!!!!) and then enjoyed an hour of Butler and Wilson on QVC. Very entertaining, I think, although OH would not agree!!!
6. Have taken the plunge to join the National Trust for a year, just for OH and myself. (Kids not keen on visiting such places so we will use the membership on days when OH has no work as cheap days out) Just £59 for a year with £17 already tracked through Quidco, fingers crossed! OH has even agreed that we could take a picnic rather than pay out every time for expensive coffee and cake. He is gradually catching on to the OS ways!
Hugs to all who need them.0 -
Not going to say a word about the footie, cos no word could describe that lot!
I understand your pleasures ACEY, adult conversation is a joy when you spend your days, and evenings, with children. Not saying couples don't understand but it is totally different when you're a single parent
Lol Ginger Snap my DD used to call them bacon mishaps, very appropriate. Good for you getting the NT membership, someone suggested I use a NZ site as it's a lot cheaper but it wouldn't accept my UK address, so hoping to get a years membership for my birthday. Wish we had HB here, I have to wait til I go on holiday to get to one
wssla, when the hanging baskets are full of them, all the tubs are overflowing with them, when the flower bed you're getting a quote for is reduced to two feet square and you have to step over the runners covering your garden path - then you just might have too many strawberry plants! :rotfl:
CCP some people have chain-link round their patio, you can have a pansy chain
Ladyhawk hope your trip goes well and it's not all work. What did you find in your supper in the end?
Well done on the vouchers Tealady. I had a count up too yesterday and if the rest of the year is as good as it's been so far I'll hardly have to buy anything :T. I always find it hard work starting again after getting vouchers, though they soon add up to claim-value. Is there room for one more on Sunday? I love lamb shanks too
So that's where the sunshine was today GirlySquare, we had plenty of wind and rainHope it stays bright for your London trip
Good news about the care home funding being sorted out savingforoz and congrats on looking after the grocery budget, treats like strawberries are why we do it
Lovely to have all the family together zara. I'm sure they'll all be admiring the roses
Hope by the time your read this you've had a lovely long lie-in jollymummy, with no interruptions. Wishing your DM well, it's a horrible thing to have so hope she feels better soon
wogglemaker I'm hoping to buy a dongle for the same reason but don't have a clue what I'm looking at/for. A trip to the techie board is called for, I think
My 5
1. Put a few more bits on freecycle and they've all gone already. One lovely man brought me a jar of hm whitecurrant jelly when he collected his treasure, how kind people are.
2. Visited a friend so she could have a bath, she had an op recently and isn't feeling secure enough to bath with no-one around yet. Did a few chores for her while I was there
3..Postie brought me a current cost monitor from my elec co, didn't ask for it but will have a look at it when I have time, and see what it's all about.
4. Got an email telling me I've earned £4 for filling in a questionaire - I don't even remember doing that one!
5. Spoke to my lovely friend very briefly and the ward staff a short while ago, he's dosed up to the eyebrows with goodness knows what and a little incoherent, but at least he's not in as much pain at the moment. Thank you for all your good wishes to him
Night night, sweet dreams

Sparrer - I wont be using a dongle much so am thinking of going down the route of O2's pay as you go. It's only needed when I'm up at dads, in hospital or on the rare occasion I'm well enough to go away.
Mine for today
1. Lovely sonney day
2. all packed up and ready to travel up to Brum
3. The batch bake I did last week along with the HM Ready Meals has filled the cold box and a cool bag - as I'm feeling a bit grotty it will save me a bit of cooking.
4. Found out that DS is taking a previously unknown female to the office do at Frampton Court.
5. Eagerly waiting for a friend to call in for a cuppa - we've chatted over the internet for about 5 years, but this is the first time we've met face to face. Thank heavens for sat nav.
Speak to you all after my trip to Birmingham. Keep safe all.
