Good morning everyone!
Mine for yesterday:
1. OH taking me out to Snowshill Manor garden (National trust) for a coffee, danish pastry and wander around the gorgeous garden. The weather couldn't have been more glorious, not a cloud in the sky, and we had a fantastic time. It was even nicer to know we used a 2 for 1 voucher (from Gardeners world) to get in.
2. On our return we talked about plans to get me a greenhouse sometime soon. Its good to have a project!!
3. Popped into Lidl's and got some bacon misshapes (first time ever though have heard lots about them!) and enjoyed a yummy lunch of fried bacon, eggs from our chickens and salad.
4. Phone call from good friend from work to tell me all the gossip and reassure me that I am doing the right thing taking some time off work to sort myself out.
5. Heard back from my MRI that the scan did not show up anything sinister.
6. Got my glasses, not worn a pair properly before and these are bifocals so take some getting used to. But I can tell they are helping already and its amazing to see the detail on all the trees and plants in the garden! A whole new world!!!!
Sorry haven't caught up with the thread yet this morning, have a head cold so am going to catch up later when I feel more with it.0 -
Hi Tealady the recipe I use is this one by Nigella. Only I adapt it so it has dried fruit and broken up chocolate chunks in.

1. I had 2 text off friends up the school this morning asking if I was ok. I had really bad hayfever so by the time I got into school my eyes were streaming and i couldnt stop sneezng. I was so touched that they were worried about me. I must have looked a right state!!! :rotfl:

Evening all. Hope you're all well.
Here's my five for today:
1) Did my weekly shop at lunchtime and it came to less than £10. :j I'll need to get some more cat food at some point, and possibly some eggs, but that should still see me under £20 for the week.
2) My HG potatoes are very nearly ready to harvest - another week should do it. :j again, I think.
3) Potted on my winter pansies when I got home from work, as they were getting noticeably too big for the starter pots. I think I might have got a bit carried away, though - my garden's about the size of half a tennis court and mostly patio, but I've ended up with 15 pots, each with 4 - 6 winter pansies in. Goodness knows where I'm going to put them all!
4) Watching the birds on the feeder while I was doing the pansies.
5) Deciding to watch the football at home tonight rather than going to the pub. It's not as atmospheric, but it's considerably cheaper and more comfortable, and almost completely removes the risk of having a fist or glass smashed in your face. (Gee, I love Portsmouth at the moment.)
And on that note, come on England! And I'll see you all tomorrow.
Back after a very long break!0 -
Hi everyone,
Hope you have managed to find some sunshine today cos here in Bedfordshire it's miserable!
1) It's the weekend and I am off to Paris in the morning!
2) Interviewing cat sitters tonight. The first lady seems lovely and I will probably go with her... but the lady who is coming a little later on seems lovely on the phone... it's going to be a tough choice and it will come down to price in the end.
3) Loads done at work today and the two difficult conference calls that I had planned went a lot better than I expected.
4) Easy supper from the freezer... I have defrosted something... it will be a surprise!
5) My flat it fairly tidy since I hate coming back from hols to mess so have been doing a little each night. I just have tp mop the kitchen floor and change the bedding... and pack!
Have a great weekend everyone and catch you all on Tuesday.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening
Mine for today:
1. We all overslept slightly this morning but still managed to get everyone out the door in time with a packed lunch and breakfast
2. Earning another £3 in vouchers from a survey today. My stash of vouchers is slowing adding up and will certainly take the sting out of christmas this year
3. Have been invited to inlaws for lunch on Sunday for Lamb Shanks
4. OH bringing in Fish and Chips for dinner so no cooking for me tonight.
5. Being told at work by one of the ops guys that I am his favourite person in IS as I give them a straight answer even if it isn't the one they want:A
Hugs to all who need them
Ladyhawk - Have a fab weekend in Paris0
