    Hi everyone,

Just come home from a great day with my colleague/ friend J at Thorpe Park. Her daughter is with her dad for the weekend so J could come out to play. She made go on all the very scary rides! Including Stealth! which is very steep and very high. (I am petrified of heights and was nearly in tears before we went on it and kept my eyes closed and my head down the entire time!)

    1) Half price tickets for Thorpe Park courtesy of Nectar!

    2) Spending time with J and getting to know her better.

    3) Sunshine on my face

    4) Getting Green Flag to refund the additional roadside assistance policy that I accidentally bought!

    5) Taking one of the furbabes to the vet this morning and he was all ok. There has been rather a lot of furballs being coughed up over recent weeks... :(

Anyway... need to go and finish heating up my CBA supper of mash and stew.

Night night - enjoy the rest of your evening.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I had a lovely day pottering around so here goes with my pleasures
    1. Finding some asparagus on my walk - only enough for one so I had it for my lunch as only DS1 was in at the time and he doesn't like asparagus. I think that the asparagus is now finished.

    2. Picking some more elderflowers and started making cordial with them again.

    3. Planted some tomato plants which DH work work mate gave him also some foxgloves which have filled in some gaps in the garden.

4.Finishing the ironing and all the washing has been done and dried on the line. Its very rare for this to have happen.

    5. Receiving a shower gel sample in the post.

    6. Starting to sort out my stack of magazines that I have been given and keeping the ones I want and passing the rest on.

    Hello all :)

    Welcome newbies!

Acey- hope your hayfever is getting better!
Thrilla- Glad you found the stock cubes! Sounds like a nice dinner!
Kitchenbunny- did you see going postal? It was a great remake of the book!
Wogglemaker- Yeah they have reduced themselves back to being annoying rather than stroppy teenager! Hope you are feeling ok. It's a s*d isn't it? The pred I'm on has caused a nasty infection so I'm doubly happy! LOL!
Ladyhawk- the last time I went to a theme park (Alton Towers) I was green after the teacups and ended up on the swans feeling icky! You are much braver than me :)
Village life- I picked one so I could sniff it so make sure it was an elderflower bush- which it was! (It's in my back garden so I could just pick one lol) They need a few days more here I think!

    OK- Here are mine!

    1. Getting my free bun with the voucher from the Daily Record
    2. Going to Morissons and getting some lovely plants for only a quid each
    3. Finding the pansy things I was looking for and the lady gave me a free big black pot too :)
    4. Having a lovely cheap dinner of cheese and ham pasta
    5. Enjoying my garden even though I am allergic to grass- I know! I think I have a death wish. Still it was worth the extra ventolin to have some peace this afternoon :)

Have a good evening. I'm off for a lovely bath!

Villagelife: I am very impressed with your second elderflower gathering- I still havent found the ingredients to try my first recipe yet! :(

Ladyhawk: I don't envy you on those rides! I am so scared of heights/speed etc. I am such a wimp, my kids despair of me!

Kitchenbunny: I love Terry Pratchet too, was it you that had watched Going Postal? I have just finished watching it, its brilliant entertainment.:)

Sparrer: I am so glad the shed has a perfect new home, though it is a happiness tinged with saddness considering your friend's illness. Really glad your other friend felt better when you phoned. :)

Good evening everyone, here are mine for today:

Its been a funny old day, where I felt rather rushed and a bit drained but lots of good things have happened if I take the time to think...

    1. Up bright and breezy at 6.30 as had to let out a friend's chickens, who lives in another part of town. She has had to go to Scotland unexpectedly with the OH to a family funeral so it was the least we could do to help her out. (We usually have her chickens here in our garden along with ours but we already have another friends hens as he is on holiday!) Being up early was a pain at the time but meant I got a lot done today.

    2. Picked up DD's friend and took DS, DD and friend to a local fete, where the kids had a great time. Friend bought up half the white elephant stall (definite shopaholic!) and I found a new canvas picture for a £1 that should go in the hall really well. Kids enjoyed BBQ lunch and locally made ice-creams. :j

    3. Cooked a yummy roast chicken and all the trimmings for tea, using special offer chicken from the freezer and cheap Lidl veg.:D

    4. Lots of hugs from OH; he knows when I am feeling a bit fragile.:(

    5. Went to Asda to do weekly shop tonight instead of tomorrow morning as would be quieter when footy on. It was a bit frustrating as lots of empty shelves, but I kept within my budget again so was chuffed.:)

    6. In the garden, lots of Borage plants have appeared, self sown from last year. I love their intense blue flowers and their furry leaves. I am told the flowers freeze well in ice cube trays!

    Have a good evening everyone!

Strange call Ladyhawk...did they get the number of the neighbour right? I can only think they looked up on the electoral roll. The only other time I've ever heard of anything like this is from a debt collecting company - not after me, I hasten to add! I can't believe how brave you were going on those rides, I used to love the waltzer many moons ago but they'd have to drag me on kicking and screaming now
So pleased pilates helps your back villagelife, my DSis suffers terribly and it's the only thing which helps her. Well done on finding the asparagus, I envy all of you who know what you're looking for
Good to hear about your friend savingforoz, she must be hugely relieved
Well done your DS Thrilla, makes a mum feel so proud, doesn't it? I can understand your relief too, when you found the share cert. (Secretly pleased I'm not your neighbour ;))
not cheating at all ralloctiger, anyone who can find lots of pleasures deserves to put them on the board. Good for you :T
Goodness Ginger Snap, what do you do with all the eggs that three lots of chooks lay? Hope you have people who will buy them otherwise that's a heck of a lot of baking you'd have to do ;)
oh dear nuttybabe, I should imagine there are a lot of foottball fans who are disappointed. They do have quite a few more games to play though, don't they? (a bit annoyed it was the yanks though )
Good to see you Reverbe, hope all is well with you. Sounds like you found quite a few OS pleasures in your day :D

    My 5
    1. More people came to take things from the shed. Isn't it amazing what [STRIKE]rubbish[/STRIKE] treasure some people take?
    2. Postie brought me a mens spray which I'll use, I prefer the spiciness of male toiletries to the flowery smell of the female ones
    3. She also brought me a bottle of bubble bath to trial...it smells of sickly bubble gum
4.Met up with an old friend for tea this afternoon, then shopped in an eerily quiet Mr T
    5. Drove home at 8pm, I went 4 miles on a usually busy dual carriageway without seeing another car...I'm no football fan but I'll make sure I have to go out again next time England plays :D

    Night night, sleepy tight
