  • Hello Ladyhawk..
I can not spell or type and cannot find the spell checker here.
My friend is a trainned nutritonalist, she is currently setting up Lighter for life programme, but to get accredited she needs to do some free courses. She has been really supportive.I used to see her one to one but said it would re nice to join in a group, so she slotted me in her group. It is interesting and a whole new way at looking at things, most of the time it seems to work, from Sat will try for a week to give up red meat, dairy, wheat and ...chocolate and booze(but not tonight as I am hoisting a murder mystrey at mine with lots of the above.)

1 the sun is out and it feels warm again

    2 cooking for friends

    3 eating with friends .

    4 drinking with friends.

    5 mudering with friends:rotfl:

    Afternoon all.

candlepower - have a lovely evening - I do hope the 'murdering' bit is just pretend, though! ;)

wssla00 - wow - well done on losing all that weight! That's a fantastic achievement! :T Hope you enjoyed your choccy cake. ;)

savingforoz - it's a shame the foster cats' potential new owner didn't turn up but, as you say, it's probably for the best - if someone's that unreliable they probably shouldn't have pets, imo.

candlepower - welcome to the thread!

ACEY - you have my sympathy over the fight with your cats - mine's the same when it comes to de-fleaing time. Why do they make such a fuss over something that takes ten seconds and stops them itching? smiley-confused005.gif

nuttybabe - I know exactly what you mean about this forum causing weight gain - I had to cancel my subscription to the baking thread as I'd put on 10kg since I started reading it. (I'm pleased to say I've lost it all again since then.)

wogglemaker - hope you're feeling better today.

Caterina - hope you're having a lovely time on the IOW, despite the unpleasant weather.

newlywed - I hope your telephone interview went OK and something good will come out of it. I've never done a telephone interview, and must admit they don't sound a lot of fun! :(

sparrer - sounds like you knew a lot of the Island well - I hope you get to visit it again sometime if you want to. I hope your shed finds a good new home, one way or another.

Right, pleasures for the past couple of days:

    Yesterday:
    1) Went for a wander round Chichester, one of my favourite towns. I spent quite a lot, so I'll have to be careful for the rest of the month, but I got some good stuff: some posh choccies to thank a friend for looking after my cat last weekend (they were RTC, but I know she won't mind as long as it's chocolate!); a father's day prezzie for my dad (not reduced, but made by a local company, which I know he'll appreciate); a new water bottle for me (paid for using a gift voucher, so it didn't actually cost me anything); and some new earrings, also for me, which were reduced by £10 and paid for using the money my grandmother gave me for my birthday (which isn't until the end of the month, but she gave me the money last time I saw her so she didn't have to find someone to post a cheque to me).
    2) Naughty but nice lunch of sausage sarnie and chips in a friendly little pub - it stayed friendly even when the ketchup bottle exploded its contents all over the table. :o (The barman just laughed and said it often did that in hot weather - that didn't make me any less :o though!)
    3) It rained for most of the afternoon, which made for a soggy bout of shopping but meant I didn't have to water the plants when I got home.
    4) My nasturtiums are coming out in flower. :) They're one of my favourite flowers, and I don't know why I don't grow them every year.
    5) My cat finally found the cat grass I planted to try and stop him eating my ornamental grasses. It didn't work of course - he just eats the cat grass for a main course then has ornamental grasses for dessert. :rotfl:

    Today:
    1) Woke up to the sound of rain on the windows, and was rather pleased that I'm not at the Isle of Wight Festival this year. I feel sorry for the people who are there, though - it's very muddy already, apparently.
    2) Arranged for a local company to frame the photos I bought last weekend. There are probably cheaper places to get the work done, but I can't imagine there are many nicer, friendlier places. :)
    3) Popped up to B&Q to get some new plant pots, and found they've got an offer for 4 pots for the price of 3.
    4) Found a novel way to defrost steak mince - put it in the oven out of the way to defrost, then forget and switch the oven on. Luckily I remembered before the mince got hot so it should be fine - I would have been very annoyed to have to throw away a pack of minced steak out of sheer carelessness.
    5) My potato plants are dying off - it should only be another week or so until I can harvest them. :j
    6) Spent the afternoon studying with the football on in the background, and there's more football tonight. :D (I should probably apologise in advance to all the football haters on this thread - I'll try to keep my enthusiasm under control for the next few weeks, so I don't bore you all to sleep. smiley-sleep025.gif;):o)

I won't be around tomorrow as I'm going up to South London for a carnival (long story! ;)) - have a lovely evening and Saturday, all, and see you again on Sunday.

(I'm actually half looking forward to going back to work next week, just so I can stop dashing around!)
Back after a very long break!

Mine always used to have a fondness for the vicious bog-garden grasses I got in the garden of my last flat. I can't imagine why - they were horrible things that cut me to pieces every time I tried to stop them taking over the whole garden. Now he prefers bluebell leaves, which I'm sure are poisonous - they don't seem to have done him any harm yet, though. :)

Kitchenbunny: Ive been trying to cut down on caffeine, so know what you mean about buzzing after a coffee! I think the excess coffees were making me more stressed... We have a rabbit-filled roundabout near us and love to wave at the bunnies as we drive round it! :p

Sparrer: Hope you managed to get rid of the shed. And how exactly do you manage to cope with a no-calories-day?!?!

Ralloctiger: Please how do you make those intriguing sounding coca cola cakes? :)

CCP: I loved hearing about all the goodies you bought in Chichester, thanks for the detail! Enjoy the carnival! :)

Shadowsfall: WEll done on making the dress and good luck with the diet! :)

Tealady: Sorry to hear about your OH's work but it is reassuring to know all self-employed electricians seem to be in the same boat at the moment. Hope work soon picks up for both our OHs. Well done your DD walking to guides on her own, I understand how nervous you would feel about it, my DD sounds a similar age and its scary "letting go" at times.

Well here are mine for today:

    1. Drove out to Tetbury with OH (as he had no work today). Very pretty countryside and not somewhere we have been before.

    2. Had a lovely wander around, bought one or two little things and then had an early lunch at a cafe tucked away between two old shops. We sat in the sunny, rose-filled back courtyard garden and watched a blackbird come down to a bubbling pool next to us for a drink. The menu wasn't cheap but the dishes were fantastic, my warm goats cheese salad was the best I have ever had and was filled with goodies like sun-dried peppers, toasted pine nuts and balsamic dressed fresh salad leaves. YUM! :D

    3. Drove back with the roof down as it was so sunny.

    4. Had a lovely bath this evening while OH went out to quote for a job.. fingers crossed he gets it.

    5. Just added up what I have saved by switching utilities, insurance and so on and worked out it is over £140 a month. :T

Hoping everyone has had a good day.

Hi all, phone interview went so-so. I hate the "out of 1-10 rate your ability on these areas...." :( I'm just no good at blowing my own trumpet :o Anyway should get an answer regarding whether I'm in the next interview round, on Monday.

    So:
    1. The interview is over. I've had more interviews in the last 2 months than I've had in my whole life, but still don't enjoy them.
    2. I didn't get caught in the rain today
    3. My plants survived the downpour
    4. The courgette plants are growing.
    5. Having a good chat with a friend today.
    6. Lemon and lavender cupcakes I made are lovely.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Argh - hay fever!

    Anyway, 5 for today.

    1) Went to the vets to pick up the completed PDSA form and the nurse recognised me (being the owner of the cat with no tail!) and we had a chat about how she is doing. Read the vet's notes for the PDSA and just how complicated the repair work was being so close to her behind and full of grit and hair - yuck!

    2) Went to M and S. My mum had bought bigger son a pack of school shirts but they had frilly necklines so I swapped them for boys' shirts.

    3) Had a nice, quiet look round Sainsburys by myself.

    4) Went next door for a cup of tea.

    5) Little son went to Beavers and the leader said how well he is getting on, even chatting to everyone. Bigger son and I went for a walk in the forest while little son was there hence the hay fever.

    1. Left for school run on time. Football day in school so kids were hyped up singing and dancing all the way! :D

    2. Took £25 of asda vouchers shopping and only spent £1.86!! Buggy struggled under it all!! Then popped to netto to get a few things that were cheaper there. :T Althought missed out on the 50p pizza's which would have been ideal for tomorrow night (sister and bil coming round for the football) so will just make my own instead.

    3. Hoovered the whole house, cleaned the kitchen (twice) and scrubbed the bathroom!!

    4. Made england flags with the kids and put them up all over the house.

    5. Its Friday which means....... FAKEOUT night :T:T:T

    Have a good evening.

Almost forgot 6. got my wine! charged £21.07 for 9 bottles and getting £12.50 cashback!!! Going to open one tonight and hide the rest away!! :D
