    Evening,

Kitchenbunny - I don't follow a recipe for the chowmein it is just make it up as I go along. I can put some details together if you want. Plus did you know dark chocolate contains iron so really is good for you, red wine contains iron as well.
CCP and Ladyhawk it sounds like you both have had a great couple of days:D

    Mine for today:
    1. Another day where everyone left the house with packed lunch and breakfast so no spending on expensive sandwiches.
    2. Some ironing done before work, pile is slowly going down
    3. Chilli wraps for dinner, i had salad with mine so ate less of the chilli than I normally would
    4. Wearing my red shoes today and using my red handbag. They always make me smile:D
    5. Finding an old family friend who we want to invite to parents party on the internet so brother is sending him a message

Hugs to all who need them

    1. Ordered bread and a free bottle of orange juice using the Milk&M0re site and it was lovely to open the door this morning to see them sitting on the doorstep :)
    2. Work friend brought her gorgeous little baby in to see us and I had a lovely cuddle with her
    3. Did a Reverbe and found 5p
    4. Another work friend bought cakes to celebrate something good that happened to her at work today :) nomnomnom
    5. Bought some food and drink goodies for when a friend comes down for the weekend, mostly YS stuff, using a refund/Luncheon vouchers so virtually free shopping.
    6. A friend popped in with 2 pairs of ballet slippers, one pair of which will hopefully fit DD for her ballet exam later this month. What a relief! Now to hope that someone else has a Rainbows tshirt as she's got her initiation ceremony next week and I'd love her to wear at least one bit of the proper uniform....fingers crossed :) I keep on being outbid on eb&y, grrr.
    7. DD kindly lent me 20p from her money box this morning so I could pay for something for school, she said she didn't need repaying, bless her. (I have though!)
    8. Impromptu dinner with friend and her son tonight, she was a sweetie and brought some snacky bits with her, so that was the starter sorted - our kids are into "fine-dining", need at least 2 courses for a meal to be considered a proper meal!!
    9. The sun started shining properly again!
    10. Have been reimbursed for something I bought for school - shame I've already factored it into my budget for the month, so it doesn't feel like real money! Must remember to pay it into the bank asap.
    11. Haven't seen my "furry friend" today, that's a major pleasure! I'm scared to open any cupboards!

P.S. JEXYGIRL -where are you sweetie? Hope everything's okay with you and you post back here soon. Hope the "girls" are doing well :) x

I've got my laptop back! Will take me ages to read up to date but here's my 5 for today:

    1) Had my last session at college. Had the exam yesterday. I don't know what will happen about taking year 2, its very much going to depend on my circumstances in September and my finances...

    2) Collected my laptop!

    3) Had a strange solicitor's letter saying the ex hasn't filed a statement against me for when we next go into court in July. Its so completely out of character! I don't really know the implications of not writing one.

    4) Went swimming with my brother and my sons.

    5) Cat (now with no tail) is back up to almost full fitness and brought me back a massive mouse today :-)

Shadowsfall well done keeping up with the shakes. I keep saying I'll do something about my weight...if I put as much energy into actually doing it as procrastinating....:o
savingforoz I hope the prospective Mum for the kits is a good one. Great news re the lodger moving in, you'll have time to satisfy yourself she's really the right one for your home
Tealady yes please to the recipe for your hm chow mein, my favourite Chinese
Kittikins couldn't agree with you more re football. 22 grown men kicking a bag of wind about :rotfl:(but I daren't say that to my DS, he's a ref!)
Ginger Snap good for you on the nsd and to your OH for having some work :T
Kitchenbunny I got a couple of those shower gels too, for the Christmas stock, and couldn't agree more on the dark chocolate - much better for you than milk as it doesn't have as much sugar or fat. Does it? :p
nuttybabe how do you fit so much into your day, I admire anyone who can do more than one domestic thing at a time, especially filling the oven with yummies :D
GirlySquare good news about your DM, hope her care package is accepted by all this time :). I love sausage and chips, real comfort food. Might just have some tomorrow
Ladyhawk sounds like you had a really successful trip with lots of little bonuses. Sorry to hear about the hangover, even if it was self inflicted ;)
ralloctiger hope things look better in the morning. Two of your pleasures are in your sig, so you only missed out on 3;)
CCP my Grandmother and Great Aunt were in Ventnor, an Uncle had a cafe in Bembridge and other members of the family were in Wroxall and Brighstone. Sadly all passed away now but it still feels like 'home' as my sister and I lived in Ventnor for a while. We also had a loose connection with Pompey (the club) but far too complicated to go into! Thanks for the tip, will have to look it up :).Excellent news about your Grandmother - usually packages of care are arranged between the hospital and social services and/or agency staff.
wogglemaker yum at your tea, I can never make coronation chicken successfully.Well done on getting the casserole, what a bargain :T
Tealady how organised you are, packed lunches all round:D. The red shoes and bag sound a lovely way to brighten up the day
Welcome back ACEY :j Hope there are no delays re ex not submitting a statement. Pleased to hear mog is getting on so well, and bringing you gifts - I think!

    my 5

    1. The upstairs got a thorough clean this morning
    2. Postie brought a car flag and inflatable football which I'll send to DGSs , I understand their house is already practically covered in white with red crosses  so a bit more won't matter
    3. A nsd :j
    4. Have just heard that a charity is looking for a shed for their allotment so have offered my old one. They may think it's too tatty but if so I'll offer it as wood on freecycle
    5. A free can of squirty cream is on its way, thank you freebies board :D

    Night night, sleepy tight

Still catching up with all your posts as I have a spare 5 minutes, so ((hugs)) to all in need.

This will be my last post for a while, unless we get a good internet connection where we are staying (which is unlikely). We leave at 3am tomorrow and we have a 12 hour journey ahead of us with an 11 month old daughter, so wish us luck :D.

Here are my pleasures for yesterday/today:
    - Using up the last of the home grown salad leaves.
    - Dh getting his nans pension and food shopping for her. :A
    - Packing yet another suitcase, I still don't know if they are going to all fit in our car though :D
    - Dh winning a box of maltesers for giving the best management tips at a meeting. yum yum!
    - Feeling a little less stressed (again!)

I will be back in a few weeks, but we may be going away again straight after for a short city break if finances allow.

    Take care,
    mollythewestie :)

Sparrer - My chicken chowmein dish is a bit make it up as I go along but here is my attempt at writing it down. Hope it makes sense

Cook some egg noodles for a few minutes until soft. I add a chicken stock cube, five spice and a glug of soy sauce to the water to add a bit of flavour.
In a wok heat some oil (I use ground nut but any will do) add some fresh grated ginger, onion and grated carrot and soften. Add diced chicken and brown, add five spice to the mix and some soy sauce. Once chicken almost cooked add chopped spring onion, frozen peas and cashew nuts. May need to add a little of the stock from the noodles to keep the mixture from sticking. After a couple of minutes add the drained noodles with a little of the cooking liquid. Add a glug of sesame oil and some more soy sauce toss together in the wok for a few more minutes.

You can use whatever veg you have in the fridge but this is what I know mine will eat without moaning. :D

    Hi all, here's mine....

    1. The person at the job center was really nice and for once the visit wasn't too bad.
    2. I have an appointment to have my CV reviewed and am also awaiting details of an online CV/interview technique course.
    3. Popped into MrM and got some half price english strawberries and a few other bits.
    4. Managed to rearrange my freezer to fit in two tubs of icecream
    5. OH has work at the moment so the bills are paid.
    6. I have a telephone interview tomorrow - not my favourite but there's always the chance it could lead to a job.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    Hey Ya'll

Ginger Snap it's cool! We'll figure it out! Nice work with the DVD :) I did a bit of meditating.
Kitchenbunny your dreams of water sound lovely! Dream water is cleansing if it's beautiful, I like to think. I want to go to sleep and see some pretty things now!
GirlySquare have fun with John! He's not in much anymore huh? I didn't know Jack Black was in High Fidelity?! I just watched 'Pick of Destiny' with him in... very very silly!
Tealady thank you for reminding me about the iron content of choc and vino!
Sparrer I figured that too. I was putting so much energy into 'breathing in' or worrying about my clothes being adjusted incase I looked bad... Sheeesh. Don't know how I didnt burn all my calories by worrying alone! I decided to put my energy into making a positive path to what will make me happy!
    5. Crossing a couple of things off my "to do before lodger arrives" list.
Right, off to go drool at some hot men...
Is it not proper to do number five when said lodger arrives then? :D

    1. I made my dress for the rockabilly party in July very pleased as it's the first dress I've ever made and it looks well done.
    2. I am even more commited to sticking to the shakes now as I've seen how the dress clings!
    3. I have two weeks while on my course to keep my diet which will be excellent on my wallet as it's much cheaper than actual food.
    4. Thought Bank had cancelled my ISA and they hadn't. Phew. Their oddly worded letter lend me up the garden path and I'm back now!
    5. OH has had a mini winfall and told me he intends to use it to take us to Devon :D

Wee! Have a lovely day all :j
