Hi everyone,
Hope you are all having a lovely evening.
Ginger - The Reacher series is by Lee Child. I haven't read them in order but I think the first one was Killing Floor. I enjoy them - they are easy to read thrillers.
Kitchenbunny - yep my furbabes are lovely. They are really good boys... even though one of them killed a small bird while I was in Plymouth and scattered some feathers in my bathroom. Not many though (though it definitely was terminal) so I wonder where I am going to find the body... eventually! I also know exactly what you mean about the self esteem thing. About 4 years for some reason (still don't know why) my self confindence plummeted to rock bottom. I knew I wanted to leave my job but I was completely paralysed as to what to do - I was completely terrified of everything. It came to a bit of a head when I was looking at job specs and just completely broke down. We had a confidential phone line that we could call through work, which arranged some councilling for me which was very useful and I managed to pull through it. So what I really am trying to say is don't be afraid of asking for help.
1) Ordered my new glasses. They are really nice and hopefully will fit me better than my current ones. My lovely friend G came with me to give me impartial taste. He has so much more style than I do!
2) Tried to give blood but didn't bleed quickly enough so we had to give up half way though... at least I tried.
3) Chatting to my mum - she always likes me to give her a call before I go away
4) Packing for my trip to Norway. This time tomorrow I will be in the fjords.
5) My first strawberry is getting pinker!
Catch up with you all when I get back

Pretty much - I estimated £2.50 and spent £2.49! This week I'm using up stuff I already have in for all my meals, so didn't need much at all.
My 5 for today:
1. Starting the day off well with a session at the gym - makes me feel good all day long.
2. Meeting again with the lady who will be renting my house whilst I'm away and for a good while afterwards - she is looking for a 4-5 year let. She will be moving in with me as a lodger before then, which will give me extra funds for my trip. Plus she's bringing her cat with her, so I will have 3 furbabies in the house! She has no white goods so I can give her mine - I will be renting the house as an unfurnished let and that helps both her and me.
3. More of my delicious homemade chilli for tea, made with black-eyed beans rather than kidney beans. It works well and I don't think I'll use kidney beans in future.
4. Getting proactive and researching what visas and jabs I will need for my trip. Looks like I will need to turn myself into a pincushion as I need lots of jabs. Only six visas, though - thankfully most countries in South America don't require them.
5. My new tenant agreeing to look after the period sideboard that I took from my parents house when we had to sell it - I've always liked it but had nowhere to put/store it whilst away, other than paying for storage which isn't very money-saving.
All in all, a great day - hope everyone else has had a good one.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Ginger Snap - Yes, the lotion was free too! I am a member of lots of product testing sites, I signed up for most of them through the freebies board on here. I can highly recommend it, most sites don't pay, but you nearly always get to keep the product afterwards. My best trial was for a hairdryer, I had to send it back after use, but they gave me £30 for testing it and giving feedback. :j
Girly square - I have just been drooling over that Carluccios menu!
Here are todays pleasures:
- A lovely warm day.
- Drying 2 lots of washing outside. Also, getting it all folded and put away too.
- Watching dog: lying in the shade, scaring off pidgeons, chasing footballs all day :rotfl:
- Doing a good deed, in getting OH's nans shopping for her.
- Made a cherry cheesecake using a new recipe from Good Food magazine.
- Now putting my feet up and watching Avatar with DH.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
A lovely lie in this morning.
A really lazy day after my lie in and a shower.
Our own mixed leaves in my lunch time salad.
Not too much gunk comming off my lungs
Planters and baskets filling up well and the boarders nearly finished.
Another lovely warm day.
Watching bootsie cat do a very pritty catch the fly dance and jump (but missed this time)
I hope everyone has had a good dayIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.
