Hi all,
Carolyntia - how did the interview go? Hope you get the job if you want it
1. My roses are all coming out.
2. Salad leaves are growing well, as are the pepper seeds.
3. Needing to do some mending to a bright blue (charity shop) skirt and finding out I already have some thread that matches (no idea what that was from).
4. Finding a new home for some shoes and jeans that don't fit too well (just need to get them there).
5. There's a local careers fair soon, so might have more job opportunities there.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening
Berniemaster - sorry to hear about your friends dad so good that you can be there for her though
House elf - Hope your DS is feeling better
Mine for today;
1. Oversleeping this morning but still managing to get everyone out of the house on time complete with packed lunch and breakfast
2. Had to organise a working lunch in the office today and as some left over will go towards packed lunches for DD and OH tomorrow. Plus there was a whole cherry and almond flan lef over so thats puddings for us this week:T
3. Phoning a very old friend of my parents to invite him to their anniversary party in July. He was so pleased and is going to stay for a couple of days as he lives in quite a remote village and has had a really difficult time lately. Was lovely to speak to him as is like an uncle to me.
4. Popped into Waitrose on way home not many bargains but stuck to the list of what I needed
5. While dinner was cooking prepared some pasta salad for tomorrows lunches.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
nutty - I've got a DD like yours, she's been a total nightmare to get to bed, crying and calling me a horribly mummy etc, but she's very overtired, and it's only Wednesday
So, she's tucked up in my bed, and we've had a million cuddles already.
1. Worked from home and successfully avoided housework all day
2. Free loaf of bread came through from a survey I found a link to on here, yum yum
3. Found a waterproof bag for DD's swimming stuff for school tomorrow - phew! There's a lot more month than cash til payday and had bought one which I can now take back, yay
4. Found out that a new pension scheme at work will be okay for me, I don't quite understand it but have been slightly reassured by my mortgage advisor that I'll be making the right choice
5. Used credit vouchers for a high street shop to buy DD some school dresses and a pair of sunglasses and a present for her teacher's baby to be
6. Managed to resist buying food I don't need in M&$ when I popped in to try and find something in particular - phew!0 -
Molly I do empathise, I understand the fear of dentists and wish you well.Hope it gets sorted out soon. Clever DD, don't say you didn't encourage her just a teeny bit
house elf well done on getting the bargain chickens, nice one:T
GirlySquare yummy home grown cucumber, they're so much nicer than the mass produced, plastic wrapped ones
Ladyhawk, poo to having a 12 hour day but great you're going to Norway...not that you'll see much if you're working? But hopefully you'll get the chance to see a little
nuttybabe I'm dying to try gloop but every time I get low on washing powder some company or other sends me more to trial. Good for DD and DS for doing so well at the development check :T
Bernies sorry to hear about your friend's dad. You're doing what any good friend would do just by being there. Congrats on having a kitchen floor
CCP well done on being in the right place at the right time to get the cardigan/trousers bargain. Good that there's an OU forum you can share with - when I did OU there weren't even computers!
newlywed sounds like your garden's in full swing. Well done on having just the right colour thread..aren't sewing boxes full of wonderful surprises?
Tealady great that you managed to rescue some of the leftovers for lunches, and yummy puds for the week. Who says there's no such thing as a free lunch?
Kittikins good for you taking up the pension scheme. I don't think many of us understand them but you were wise to take advice from someone who does. You were very self-controlled in M n S, don't think I could have got away with that
My 5
1. The beach hut is up! Still some paintwork to do and the shelves to be fitted but it's in one piece, not 8 :j
2. Postie brought me two more boxes of washing powder to trial. That's six now, I think they've either made as mistake or just need to get rid of them
3. I reached the required number of points to send for a cheque from a survey site, should be a little over £35
4. Seems almost everyone has had cake today, someone made a huge, delishione chocolate cake for our meeting tonight, and I resisted! I did have a couple of flapjack bites and a yum yum though
5. The rain. Much as I don't like it, it watered my plants this eveningwhich is always a tedious job when I'm going out
Night night sweet dreams

Carolyntia, we need an update on the interview! Hope all went well.
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Unexpected visit from a good friend yesterday. She met Fudge and Willow for the first time, and of course thinks they are gorgeous.
2. Getting some wonderful comments about me from the book-keeper of one my clients, and also hearing that she'd been talking to my ex-boss about me, and how he was very complimentary about me.
3. New season NCIS last night - love that show!
4. Good hour-long workout before work. I love the gym's new opening hours that allow me a longer morning session.
5. Getting organised and making lists of what I need to do with the house before I rent it out/what I need to do ref setting up my new netbook when it arrives and wiping everythingf rom my old PC before I give it away. Feels good to be organised!
It's a lovely sunny day her in Bristol. Have a good day, everyone!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hi everyone
Shall jump in quick!
1. Saw Robin Hood last night and thought it was pretty good. Not that long at all. :starmod::starmod::starmod:/5 stars I think.
2. It's dark and rainy... and it's good for the garden!
3. Going to plan my outfit today for my mate's bday party in July. I may be having to make it! It's a Rockabilly theme so I'm rather excited
4. Also have to think about what to go to a second fancy dress party as... It's a 'blue' theme - any ideas?
5. I'm going to Hobbycraft Sat! I'm still excited about this. Looney!
6. OH is out tonight and I have a night to do the little jobs that stack up slowly and amass themselves into a lump! Pleased that I will have some time to finish them off!
Have a lovely day all, I'll catch up with you later! :cool:0 -
Morning All
Sorry I didn't post yesterday my internet connection went down  It was a very long day but I GOT THE JOB!!! :j. They want me to start next week but it will be up to my boss when he releases me. Probably the second week in June. I'll have to commute up and down at weekends until I get the house sorted but I'm really excited. So lots of pleasures:
1) I got the job :j
2) Lots more ego stroking about my skills and qualifications
3) I now get to go house hunting (I know it'll be stressful but I'm still looking forward to it)
4) More than a few glasses of wine to celebrate last night
5) Having the next couple of days off....it'll give me a chance to get the ball rolling on a few things.
6) Looking forward to the ten year ex's visit tomorrow
7) I got a little pay rise too :rotfl:
8) My trip being all expenses paid....that helps a lot
Thanks for all your support. Hope you all have a good day.
Edit: Just had a phone call from my boss....I start in Aberdeen next week.
C xAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
WTG Carolyntia! :T:j
Good luck with the house hunting. I know what you mean about it being stressful and exciting at the same time - I remember feeling much the same when I relocated to Portsmouth at fairly short notice - fun, but .
Let's hope the members of this thread are on a roll now, and newlywed pops in to say she's got a new job too.Back after a very long break!0 -
Well done Carolyntia!
Sorry CCP no such luck for me yet
Just filling out a 19 page job application!!! That makes 45 job applications in 3 monthsworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
