a quickie as I'm verrrrry tired..
1 made my usual phone call to DM but no reply, tried 4 times between 6pm and 9.30pm. Very concerned, she's 89 next Sun and is in sheltered accom. Was on the point of phoning my DB who lives 8 miles from her (I'm 70 miles away) when she phoned me to say there had been a power cut so she'd gone to visit a neighbour who is very poorly. Any more scares like that and I'll be very poorly!
    2. Some lovely freecycling people have offered me some shelving, and one lady also offered me some earthenware pots. Just what I need :D
    3. Salad for lunch, started in the garden but too many little critters wanted to share it so I took it inside to finish it :)
    4. Countryfile was about the Morecambe quicksand. I certainly won't be taking the DGC over that way....unless one of their parents pays me well ;)
    5. Sat outside with the furbabies til 11pm, it was cooler then and all the local sprogs had gone to bed, so quiet as well. One naughty moggy disappeared and has only just come in which is why I'm so tired.
Mums and mogs, what a worry

    night night, sleepy tight

I hope everyone has enjoyed the sunshine this weekend, we certainly did!
We decided not to go out for a meal on saturday as planned, as it was far too hot to get dressed up. We had a BBQ at home instead, which meant we could lounge in the garden in old baggy shorts and vests (Something that may have been frowned on if we had gone to a restaurant!)

    Here are yesterdays pleasures:
    - Picking DD up from my parents, she had a great time, but it was good to get her home.
    - Had a bit of a sore head yesterday after indulging a little too much on saturday :o. I don't normally drink more than 1 glass of anything alcoholic, so I really suffered yesterday after just 3 glasses of wine (they were rather large glasses though!) It just reminded me of why I shouldn't drink much.
    - Having a lazy sunday afternoon.
    - Getting lots more of my cross-stitch done.
    - Watching final Ashes to Ashes and catching up with Lost ready to watch the final episode later.

Sparrer, you sound like my mum, except that instead of mums and mogs she'd say "cats and kids"!

Love the new MSE look -very cool!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Walking over to visit my mum. It's about a 5 mile round trip, so good, free exercise.

    2. Going to the cinema with my friend. Prices are reduced in the afternoons so it was kind of money-saving.

    3. Reading the novel I'd got out from the library. I wasn't that struck on it but it was good to read something so different from stuff I've read before.

    4. Like most places in the UK, a fabulous summer's day here in Bristol!

    5. Meeting a friend unexpectedly in the supermarket.

Enjoy the rest of your day, everyone.

    Evening all,

    :j Welcome Maxjessdru:hello:

Carolyntia - Best of luck for your interview... fingers crossed!:)

Been in a meeting all day today - but did manage to escape for about 15 minutes at lunch time to enjoy the sunshine.

    1) The sunshine... hope this is setting the scene for the summer!

    2) HM scones for brekkie

    3) Magnum ice creams during our meeting - the new caramel ones... YUM

    4) My new veggie plants are all growing nicely

    5) Laughing Felix the furbabe... poor little mite had hiccups so it was rather mean of me... he's fine now...

Enjoy the dregs of the sunshine!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
