Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Katholicos I think the boxes of persil came from the Valued Op’s survey site, they asked me questions about the first box this evening, then will send another q/aire for the second in a fortnight. You get cash both times, too :D!
Hope your news helped your tummy savingforoz, though I have a distinct feeling that you’ll have a farm of butterflies in there after news of your amazing gift! :j

mineallmine you’re absolutely right, lots happening and 99.9% of it good. I occasionally venture onto other forums but don’t think many of them have read the bit in green which says ‘Be nice to all MoneySavers’...some don’t even thank each other

Lol Shadowsfall I tried reading a weeks worth once, it was almost impossible! Funny how our palms go orange yet the rest of us turns a lovely light tan...it’s a dead giveaway, isn’t it? Congrats on your mini anni :D
Molly I have visions of you loading the pushchair and little one toddling alongside when she can, so you can fit all of your bargains in. Enjoy your weekend and your meal, what a nice treat :)

Lucky you Ladyhawk, going to the Chelsea Flower Show even if they are still setting up, the atmosphere is amazing. Don’t be concerned about your new 2ic being older, it sounds like you get on really well so you’ll make a good team :).
Please your DD is on the mend Kittikins, nothing makes a mum feel more helpless that when her DC aren’t well. How lovely to get birthday pressies after the event, it makes the birthday last longer, lol :D

Hope you have a good barbie nuttybabe, it’s going to be a super weekend. I love hearing the local children playing outside, I know the mums appreciate it too ;)!
GirlySquare I saw someone on CDWM serve choc chip chilli recently but wasn’t sure I heard right. Thanks for confirming for me. Not sure I’d make it but it sounds, umm...interesting?
Hi Carolyntia good to see you, and to hear you won’t be out of work for long. I admire your positive attitude, and hope whatever job you choose isn’t as stressful :D

    My[STRIKE] 5[/STRIKE] 6
    1. Got and bright and early, lots of bitty bits of household stuff done by 10am!
    2. Shed arrived, the grumpy driver was very reluctant to help me take it through the gate but relented after I offered him a cuppa. They’re all just pu$$y cats really ;)

    3. Postie brought me a £10 voucher from a survey site, and a small tube of yellow acrylic paint, just right for painting a couple of jars which I’ll put hm sweeties in at Christmas :D
    4. Had my prawn salad for lunch with a light seafood dressing. Very healthy and surprisingly yummy
    5. Put the first coat of paint on the shed, it’s dry now but a little too late to start again so will put the 2nd on in the morning.
    6. Looking forward to speaking with my dear friend in Beijing, he was a bit argumentative last night but has mailed to apologise. It must be so very difficult for him to deal with so much all at once, but we’ll have a nice chat before I go to bed :)

    Night night, sleepy tight

    Morning Everyone,

Caroltnyia - Tealady is right , you do sound very positive considering. Lets hope there is something in the pipeline. (Sorry, couldn't resist:o).
Berniesmaster - Happy belated birthday :)
Blimus - we need the rhubarb cake recipe!
Savingforoz - What a lovely idea for a leaving present!

    This week

    1. Meal with colleagues to celebrate OFSTED. Lingered long after the coffee, just chatting. Never any time to do this during the day.
    2. Garden suddenly burst into life. Wish we could stay here, but sadly our forever house wasn't forever.
    3. School seedlings have sprouted. Selling them at car boot today, and was worried that I was selling pots of compost! :rotfl:
    4. The school secretary has volunteered to do the stall with me, so it will be more fun!
    5. The sun is shining and its hot!

    Have a lovely day!

Ladyhawk, good news about your new team member.

Carolyntia, it sounds like you have a lot going on right now but you sound so positive...every good wish for the future.

Yes, it was a fantastic gesture on the part of my boss, and all your comments about his generosity made me smile, because he has a reputation at work for being mean. He isn't at all, he's just prudent and doesn't splash the cash unless it's necessary. I can't argue with that philosophy!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Getting my tax refund for 2009/10 in my bank account. It's only £20 but hey, I'm grateful!

    2. Seeing a friend in Sainsburys who I've not seen for ages. We were at school together so we go way back.

    3. Getting an unexpected phone call from an ex-client who is now turning into a friend, and swapping emails so we can keep in touch whilst I'm away.

    4. New season The Mentalist on TV.

    5. Doing my grocery shopping and realising that I will either make the May grocery challenge or at worst be a few pence over. I'm going to make my May eating out challenge as well.

It's absolutely gorgeous here in Bristol. I'm going to get some washing on, then head to the gym and then into town to have lunch. I'll also pick up two books that I've reserved through our fantastic library system. Have a good day, everyone.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Good Afternoon!
    Here are yesterdays pleasures:

    - Getting all washing done and dried on the line.
    - Lunch with DD in the garden to enjoy the glorious sunshine.
    - Treated ourselves to takeaway curry for tea, but we were good and only bought half the amount we normally did and shared side orders, it was yummy!
    - Feta cheese salad for lunch using our home grown salad leaves.
    - A couple of beauty products in the post to sample, one is a very generous size bottle of body lotion.

    Todays pleasures:
    - Early trip to the supermarket to get DH's nans shopping for her.
    - Visit to the High street to get bread from the bakers and cold meats from the deli.
    - A gorgeous sun-shiney day!
    - My free Le Creuset pie funnel that I sent for last week arrived in the post, must plan to make a pie next week to use it!
    - This is not really a pleasure but...DD is staying at my parents tonight. It's her first night away from us and I don't think I will enjoy myself much, but DH said he would take me out for a meal.

    Hi Peeps,

Wow - what a glorious day!

    1) see the comment above!

    2) Getting my darks washed and dried in the sun... I'll do the same with my lights tomorrow

    3) The furbabes bring very affectionate and having fun in the sun

    4) Homemade pasties and salad for lunch

    5) Lovely snooze this afternoon

    6) NSD - 10th of this month

    7) My friend passing his jiu jitsu black belt grading. I am so pleased for him as he failed his brown and black belt once each and both times he was considered to be really, really unlucky.

Hope you are all fit and flourishing.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Hellllooooooooooooo!

Have been absent for a week or so,have been extremely busy, but have 5 mins so thought I'd get back into the good habit of recognising my OS pleasures!

    Here are today's - -

    1) THE SUN!

    2) Getting up early and hitting Mr T before it got too busy.

    3) 2 punnets of grapes for a pound at the market

    4) Mum took me to a local garden centre that is part of an education centre for adults with learning disabilities and we got loads of plants and terracotta pots for £38 (bargain!) plus it helps out a very worthy local cause.

    5) spending the day with mum in the garden making it look beautiful

    6) first meal in our garden ever (well since we moved in in September!) as we have only recently got garden furniture!

    7) Sharing a bottle of rose with mum and enjoying the evening sun....

Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying this blissful weather! x

Hi all, been struggling so sorry haven't kept up, but have had some wine so the pleasures are easier to find :D

    1. I didn't get the job from Weds interview meaning I don't have to catch 2 different buses and spend 45 mins and then a 15 minutes walk to get to work.

    2. I didn't get the job from Tues (that I actually really wanted) so that means I can sit outside in the sunshine next week instead of going to work :o

    3. OH has work so at least our bills should be mostly covered this month.

    4. I have my OH and my family.

    5. There's still more jobs to apply for each week (already applied for 37 :()

    6. I bought a lovely per una skirt in a charity shop in the town where I didn't get the job.

    7. I took the news this morning of another failed interview better than I thought - goodness knows when it gets easier.

    8. I have some wine in the fridge - and I have already had some wine (I'm such a lightweight these days :rotfl:) :D

    9. My rose has lots of buds on it - can't wait for the flowers.
