    Morning all,

It's never boring on here is it! I love it. Loved the photos of the yummy food, what time are we all coming for tea then?!

    1. Crisp sunny morning here.
    2. Friday. Need I say more.
    3. Buying some new mugs and they are huge, a real bucket of tea, love them!
    4. Treated myself to my favourite teabags - having been disloyal for a while I've gone back to Twinings English Breakfast, they are lovely. It's been a false economy trialling lots of others and not enjoying them. But hey I tried to do the MSE thing of go down a brand. Will balance this luxury by buying on special offer.
    5. Felt rough first thing and now feel brighter - probably reading about slipped fingers on emails (done that!), notebooks as presents, jobs, yummy food - woo hoo.

    :A

Berniesmaster - Hope you had a lovely birthday :T Caterina - Good news! Savingforoz - wow! That's very cool. Nice to hear about all the good things going on and hope anyone feeling poo feels better!

Hope everyone is having a lovely week! :)
Missing a day on here feels like a week away from the thread! It's bizarre.

    So...

    1. The eternally re-occuring pleasure that is: it's Friday! :T
    2. I configured all my technology yesterday: all the social media sites, blackberry apps and my new Nokia. Plus the calendars, and the rest of the pc. Good job done.
    3. I'm wearing a dress and flip flops to work today as it's so warm :)
    4. Best mate came round yest and we sat by the river and chatted til it got dark. A river and a beer really chills you out!
    5. I'm looking forward to OHs suprises this weekend as it's our mini anniv.
    6. I'm going to give myself a mani/pedi today ready for tonight. Love it!
    7. The veg plot is shaping up and my little lettuces are replanted into their own pots now.
    8. I tanned last night so I'm feeling nice, and my hands are feeling extra nice as they've turned a bit orange!
    9. I started using my Twitter account properly yesterday, and it's really interesting to read the Tweets of the people I'm following. P!nk, Stephen Fry or Deepak Chopra for instance - it's great.
    10. Have a night planned during the bank hol to go out for a drinky poo and a laugh with some mates and OH, will be very fun! :D

Thank you for reading, I'll be back later if poss to have a looksee

savingforoz - OMG! That is fantastic news, what a thoughtful and generous boss you have :j

    Good morning
    Here are yesterdays pleasures:
    - Trip to the library. They didn't have any crochet books that I was looking for, but borrowed "The Cat in The Hat" for DD instead.
    - The greengrocers had heads of Broccoli for 28p, which i cooked with a cauliflower I already had, in a cheese sauce for my tea, with enough leftovers for 2 more meals.
    - DH had "bottom of the fridge" stir fry for his tea (As he hates cauliflower and broccoli!).
    - Tesco had the nappy offer buy 2 packs get 2 packs free in stock in DD's size. So managed to scrap together the last of my change to buy them and managed to get them all home too (Had to resort to balancing them on top of the pushchair hood!:rotfl:)
    - DH's expenses has finally gone in (£650 for the last month alone!), so we can treat ourselves to a meal out this weekend.
    - Started a new cross stitch last night. I haven't done any in ages, but I find it very relaxing to do when Dh is watching TV on an evening.

Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the sunshine :)

    Evening all,

First and foremost savingforoz - you have an amazing boss and can I have your job when you leave??

I have had a generally good day today... but for the 2nd week running my expenses haven't been paid and it will be a month since I submitted my claim... grrr... I need that money!!

    Anyway

    1) NSD (as a result of lack of expenses being paid!)

    2) Went to the Chelsea Flower Show today and watched people setting up their stands. They all seem so calm even though it was a hive of activity.

    3) Had a client presentation this morning which went well. I think that they went into it to give us a bit of a hard time but once I had finished my presentation they seemed happy with what we were doing.

    4) Got lunch bought for me. It was a really yummy cheese and salad baguette and a This Water lemonade. I love lemonade (but not sprite or 7up)

    5) Had a quick chat with my mum on the phone.

The other thing that happened was I think that I have worked out who will be reporting into me - and she is lovely. But she is older than me and more experienced than me and I am going to feel abit funny about it, especially as we have often had a good old moan together and I have sent to job specs to look at! I was hoping that it was going to be a proper junior member of the team... she will be happy though in a way because she absolutely hates her boss.

Anyway - the weekend is here - hope you enjoy it and don't get sunburnt!

    1. DD and her cuddles :) She's nearly better now, hopefully by Monday she'll be 100%

    2. The sunshine

    3. A friend came over to our house for lunch and brought me belated birthday presents :)

    4. Made gorgeous food for lunch, even if I say so myself ;)

    5. Quiet work day, always nice, especially so on a Friday!

    Good evening all

Savingforoz - wow! you boss is very generous!

Ladyhawk - It annoys me when dh has to wait for his expenses. I used to be an accountant and I did expenses once or twice a week depending on how many landed in my intray!!! The way I saw it was its their money so they should get it back when they ask for it!!

    Mine for today

1 A lovely sunny day, so kids could play in garden.

2 Got £12 paid into my account so could go shopping!! yay! ran out of milk this morning!!! :p

    3 Cleaned the kitchen

4 Cleaned the bbq ready for tomorrow

    5 FAKEOUT night. :D

Thats all for me. Have a lovely evening everyone.

    Evening all

Sorry I haven't been around for ages but if you can remember is was my shutdown.....just finished and all went very very well. Everybody was very happy. Unfortunately not so happy as to not stop me from being made redundant.....I was told last Friday. I wasn't as upset as I thought I'd be.....if anything it was a great relief. I've also sold the house.....happy about this but a little worried....I know I'll be fine.

Anyway I've still got some pleasures to share with you:

    1) Bank account of Carolyntia is healthy and should be more than fine for a while
    2) Under the bed stash is still fully stocked but I will be looking for a few more bargains.
    3) Swapping job info with other colleagues who are also being made redundant.
    4) I went for an interview on Wednesday that went quite well. Totally different end of the business than I'm used to so I'd be starting again....and taking a pay cut......but it would be better for me. I should know about it early next week.
    5) Aberdeen office think I'm suitable for a more senior position there. It's nice to be wanted and for my skills and qualifications to be recognised :D
    6) Some beautiful weather
    7) My friends little girl giving me a huge kiss goodbye
    8) Getting my nails done yesterday....not too sure how long I can keep it up but I really enjoyed it and it made me feel better
    9) My platform manager saying he was sorry to hear about my job and telling me he was going to insist on them getting me back.....not too sure how he'll get on with this but I know he'll definitely go for it. I know he had a meeting yesterday and there were raised voices :rotfl:
    10) My friend being great and house hunting with me.....she's always very objective
    11) 10 year ex is coming to visit next weekend
    12) I've got in contact with loads of people I haven't heard of for ages....to let them know my e-mail address will be changing...lovely to catch up with everyone

I hope you're all well and everyone is coping ok right now.....sorry I haven't had a chance to catch up on all the posts yet.

    Take care

    Evening,

Savingforoz - What a generous boss you have but it also goes to show what a good worker you must be
Ladyhawk - I kow what you mean about expenses my company is just the same.
Carolyntia - Sorry to hear about your redundancy but nice to hear you being so positive about everything

    Mine for today:
    1. Finally agreed a guest list for parents wedding anniversary with my brothers. It was so hard and know there are going to be a few noses out of joint but we had to draw the lie somewhere,
    2. DD got off to guide camp and was very excited to be camping for the weekend
    3. Signed up to another survey site which is supposed to be a good site to be registered with so hopefully some more vouchers coming in soon:money:
    4. Had an easy dinner of pasta bolognaise washed down with a little bottle of champagne (just one glass) that was a birthday present
    5. Chatting with my mum on the phone and she had recognised that she is feeling stressed at the moment. This is a big step forward as she suffers with depressio and normally either me or dad have to say something but she could see it for herself this time and started to feel better for facing the issue.

Hugs to all who need them

Thanks Tealady. I've just been chatting on the phone to the 10 year ex and he said the same thing. I think I've been so focused on work for the last three years that I forgot to live a little. Everyone has said I look a lot brighter and i'm smiling a lot more. Like I said the sense of relief is amazing. Caterina - now I know what you meant when you left your job
I didn't realise how stressed I actually was.
Actually thinking about it I've got another one:

13)The job I really want just came up with my company but at Bacton not offshore....I'm definitely applying.
14)My company also allows challenging of agency jobs (not nice trying to shove someone out of a job but sometimes necessary).....I challenged a couple but the people who are in them are leaving anyway so it looks like there are a couple of openings there too.

    And a couple more:

    15) If I do have a bit of spare time I have a whole load of books to read and I intend to teach myself to crochet
    16) I've also got some free seeds which I intend to plant in some spare pots I have.....that'll keep me busy over the weekend
    17) I'll be able to get out on my bike

All very positive so I'm celebrating with a glass of wine
