Good to see you back with us, Reverbe!
Sorry you're not feeling so good, Tealady.
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Doing my first full hour's workout before work and feeling great afterwards.
2. Getting an unexpected text from a friend who I've not heard from for ages.
3. New season NCIS on TV.
4. Coimg home to my meal bubbling away in the slow cooker. All I had to do was steam some veg, reheat some rice and I had a yummy hot meal within 15 minutes of arriving home. I love my slow cooker (well, actually I love all my kitchen gadgets).
5. Actually managing to get an early night for once - in bed by 10.15pm.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -

Hi all
Had a great day yesterday, I am hosting a (previously unknown) guest from the Ukraine and I took him around London for a day, we had a fav time!
Because he is staying in my spare (computer) room, I am not going to be online a lot because I do not want to disturb him when he is at home - it also does me good to stay away from the computer on occasional days!
Here are my pleasures for yesterday, the ones for today will be recorded later:
1 - Finding that our guest is a pleasant young man and not a mad axe murderer (as many people implied first when I told them about us hosting him).
2 - Going out with him and seeing London with different, new eyes and so realising that we live in a great city, with so many exciting places, spaces and opportunities.
3 - Trip to Natural History Museum (revisiting the dinosaurs, which I had not seen since my kids were little!) then Science Museum (YAWN!).
4 - Cheap lunch at my favourite Chinese restaurant in Soho
5 - A friend called me while we were out and invited us to go with her to a sound installation (free!) at the Somerset House, a series of sound recordings and projections made by an artist at different points of the river Thames. Very very atmospheric and interesting!
6 - Afterwards, walk around Covent Garden
7 - Meeting up with DH and we all went for fish and chips!
8 - We travelled back on the river and while our guest was in the outside part of the boat taking pictures, it was a lovely staying seated inside for me, holding DH's hand (very romantic!).
9 - Arriving in Greenwich we decided that we had to crown the day with a local beer and we went to the new Meantime Brewery pub, where I managed to drink nearly half of my half pint of wheat beer. Our guest is not much of a beer drinker but liked the place. DH LOVED his beer hehehe!
10 - Last but not least: DH GOT THE JOB HE WENT FOR!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!
Have a great day everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
berniesmaster - is it your birthday today then? if so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :bdaycake:and I second that pleasure #5 the genius that invented Calpol should be worshipped!
Caterina - Well done to your DH on the new job
Here are my pleasures for yesterday (Almost all about DD, I am such a baby bore):
- Decided to wash all DD's new holiday clothes (holiday only 3 weeks away, yay!) and managed to dry them on the line eventhough rain threatened us all day.
- Hoovered the entire downstairs.
- Got DD to try on her first ever swimming costume to make sure it fits, can't wait to get into a pool with her, she loves bath time so I think she will be a real waterbaby.
- Put away DDs outgrown clothes. This always makes me sad as I realise how fast she is growing.
- Finally getting the amount of food down in the freezer to a reasonable level, so that I can fill it up with YS stuff again :lipsrseal:rotfl:Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
Happy Birthday berniesmaster :bdaycake:, have a great day and hope you get spoiled rotten :j:j:j (and no more dribbles
