Hi all, not been posting for a couple of days as have been feeling a bit Eeyorish with DD being away at my parents, still poorly :(

Happy Birthday berniesmaster, hope you have a gorgeous day :):)

Congrats to Mr Caterina, that's fabulous news :):)

    Mine for recent days.....

    1. DD is hopefully on the mend, she now has antibiotics as it may be an infection or could be a virus *sigh*

    2. YAY!!! DD's coming home later today, I've not seen her since Sunday and I miss her cuddles soooooooooooooooooooooo much

    3. Had a gorgeous slinky haircut for free, courtesy of a freecycl*r giving me a voucher they won in a raffle :)

    4. YS bargains in the supermarkets, with VAT possibly going up to 20% soon I'm trying to keep my quartermaster's stores fully stocked

    5. Have made up a little info pack with addresses of fun places to go to for our half term holiday, I can't wait!

    Evening all.

Well, I'm pleased to say my doctor doesn't think the stomach pains are a sign of anything really nasty - he reckons it's probably down to stress, although he wants to run a few tests to make sure it's not an infection of the waterworks (IYKWIM! ;)).

    So:

    1) Finding out that that there's nothing seriously wrong with me.

    2) Did a Reverbe and picked up 10p while waiting at the doctor's surgery.

    3) Due to the doctor's appointment, I had a very short day at work today, and left the office just before 4. :)

    4) Deciding that one quick way of reducing stress is to stop the diet, just for a couple of weeks - I'm celebrating with a cheesy-topped sausage and veg pasta bake. :D

    5) Making a fuss of one of my neighbours' cats. My cat wasn't impressed, but she's such a pretty, feminine little thing next to my big, tatty-eared tom cat. (Although, of course, he's gorgeous too in his own way. ;))

Kittikins - I'm so sorry to hear your poor DD's still unwell. I hope the antibiotics do the trick for her - I'm sure having her back at home will do the trick for you. :)

berniesmaster - smiley-greet002.gif Hope you had alovely day.

Caterina - congrats to your DH - that's wonderful news.

Ladyhawk - thanks for sharing the contents of your goodie bag - it does seem an odd selection and had me puzzled, too.

And Reverbe - great thinking, I think you've cracked it! :T It's lovely to see you back on the thread, too.

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all,

Sparrer - I laughed at your self tanning experience. I have given up all that hassle and am going with the "pale and interesting" look...

Caterina - congrats on Mr C's new job and for being such a wonderful hostess.

Berniesmaster - have a happy, happy birthday!!

Well.. I did the stupidest and most embarressing thing today. I have a supplier that I don't like - we have never really gelled. Anyway, someone from accounts recievable emailed me asking me for his contact details because they wanted to delay payment. Anyway I sent them off, along with my personal opinion on how they were notroiously bad payers and the account manager was difficult to deal with... anyway... you guessed it... I copied him on it by mistake!:o:eek: I had looked him up to see his address and then forgotten to delete it. To compound matters, he then responded how unprofessional I was, and copied in their European director!!! So I wrote back saying that everything in my email was factually correct and rather than pointing out my flaws, maybe he should start working on changing my perception of him! I got a grovelling email back...

    1) Want for a walk with the bosses PA who is threatening to resign. I'll definitely miss her but I think she would be happier somewhere else.

    2) Was on track for a NSD but walked past Wilkos and had to buy a watercan, which then I added a tomato plant to and a bag of sweeties for the team. It looks like there might be two tomatoes in the pot so hopefully it will work out to be 241!

    3) Chat with our logistics manager this evening when everyone when home - he is such a nice guy and I do enjoy chatting to him

    4) One of my other colleagues (a singleton like me) invited me to go to a theme park with her next month... which should be fun. I think she was a little nervous asking as people in my office don't tend to socialise outside of work.

    5) Espousing the joys of MSE to another colleague - I was just sharing the hints and tips that I have picked up from here. I hope she found them useful.

Righteo - off to water my seedling with my new watering can.

    Have a lovely evening,

    L

I feel like I've been away from this thread for ages - been so busy! Have just caught up with only the last page (will read older posts later).
sparrer - good news about your beach hut!
House elf - :rotfl: lol-ed so much imagining the hamster in the RC car!
    Berniesmaster - Happy Birthday! :D
Caterina - Well done to your DH :T
CCP - glad the report from your doc was good.:j

Such an amazing summer's day today - had a lovely day:

    1) The first rhubarb cake of the year. Thanks to some 29p marked down rhubarb at the grocers. It's so expensive everywhere else and mine isn't big enough to pick yet.
    2) DH has made me part one of a garden-long raised veg bed. The wood came from a very kind neighbour but it's the compost that's the pricey element. Will have to fill it in bits. Planted my blueberry bush, my car boot raspberry and my marked down loganberry and raspberry canes from H*base (they look just like sticks though) in there today.
    3) Wearing sandals instead of boots and socks!
    4) Warm salads - it's taken me a while but now I totally get warm salads. Yummmmm :p
    5) The birds - all the finches, tits and swallows that are around at the moment. Just makes life seem perfect! :)

Have a great evening everyone and hugs to those who need them.

Here are my 5 for today...

2, Had home made oatcakes with melted cheese (and the obligatory tomato ketchup) for lunch...

    19052010241.jpg

    3. Pottered around in the garden a bit...
    20052010272.jpg

    4. Collected my daughter and three of her mates from the pub where they were celebrating their last day at Sixth Form, they are all off to different universities in September and though they will see each other before that, today was momentus for them to finally leave school/college. Now they are on study leave...yeah right! LOL!
Anyway, after having a right old drinky, they wanted me to drop them off at the fairground...i had visions of them all heaving when they came off the Waltzers, but apparantly, they were all fine!

    5. Received 2 x free boxes of persil (each box does 10 washes approx)...i had entered something to test products like this a while back and to give feedback, but i can;t for the life of me remember how i got in touch with them or even who they are, the letter accompanying the persil shed no light on it either...but after a few days it says they ill email me asking me questions about the powder so i guess i will find out then...still, free powder....gotta be worth it!

Kittikins I'm doing much the same for the Summer holiday, in a folder so the 4 DGC can choose one event each day, and in true OS style everything is either free or minimal cost. I did it when I took DGD2 on holiday last year and it worked well, we did most of what we wanted and weren't bored for a minute :)
CCP so pleased that the GP doesn't think it's anything too bad, though stress is bad enough so give yourself lots of TLC :A
Ladyhawk I need something to detract from the wrinkles and the tanning lotion has got a moisturiser...that's my story, anyway ;). Oh dear at your mail, though I did have to laugh (sorry) and am pleased you put the dreadful little man in his place :T. Well done you
Blimus I can't wait, seems it's been going on for ever. However it's arriving in the morning so I have paint and brushes at the ready. The rhubarb cake sounds scrummy, can we have the recipe please? My rhubarb repertoire only runs to crumble and fool. Not very imaginative, am I? :o
katholicos I got the Persil too, and a follow up email which asked about the smell, colour and texture. Still don't know who it was from but I like Persil so I don't really care now :D
Tealady I empathise, although it's some years since I had a family to wash for I remember the ironing. Today I do as little as possible!

    my 5
    1. Seeing Reverbes post
    2. nsd
    3. Was very good and ate healthily today
    4. The beautiful weather - long may it last
    5. Phone call from a friend who's just back from holiday, with lovely tales of her time in the Greek Islands

    Night night, sweet dreams

CCP, so glad that there's nothing seriously wrong.

I was a bit off colour yesterday - tummy was a bit unsettled - so I came home early and went straight to bed, so not many pleasures yesterday. In fact, there was only one, and it's so fantastic it's enough for 5 pleasures anyway!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

MY BOSS HAS OFFERED TO BUY ME A SHINY NEW NETBOOK TO TAKE WITH ME WHEN I GO OFF TRAVELLING, AS MY LEAVING PRESENT!!!

I've already found the one that I want and was on the point of ordering it...this means extra money for my travelling fund, that I would have spent on buying a netbook. Yay!!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
