Hi all,
Here's mine:
1. The firemen arrived quickly and didn't take long to put out the fire in the block of flats just opposite us in the close. So thankful for firemen, it's nice to know they're there when we need them.
2. Cuddles with OH
3. Cuppa tea in bed this morning thanks to OH.
4. Got 3 vest tops in Primark for £1.50 each, great under shirts that would otherwise show much more than any future work colleagues need to see
5. Found astonish oven cleaning paste and will have a bash at that later.
6. Managed to walk past TWO bakeries and many cafe's and settled for a drink of coke instead.
7. A lovely cord patterned Monsoon skirt in charity shop.
8. 101 good food books arrived today from Amazon - very quick for free delivery option.
9. It's our wedding anniversary soon, so have bought and hidden the card alreadyworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi everyone
Sorry I've been AWOL recently - I'm back now though
Five for today:
1) Pilates using gym membership - didn't fancy it but my back was aching and I knew it would help so I forced myself, and it's really helped - I could do a move I couldn't do last week as well so that's made me happy.
2) Tomatoes, lettuce and potatoes are all coming along nicely in the garden
3) Renewed library books online so I have another month to read them now!
4) Cancelled LoveFilm account - must remember to send the disc back
5) JAMIE CULLUM TONIGHT - free tickets through work (front row!) and a £9 Travelodge room - can't wait!

Hi all
Here is my list of pleasures for today:
1 - Because of unexpected circumstances I found myself with a free day today
2 - My friend called and we went out together, then she invited me to lunch at hers and we had a lovely meal
3 - I managed to get to the Turkish shop and got the flat (pide) bread with sesame seeds that all my family loves
4 - DD and her BF are cooking this evening (chick pea and fennel soup with pasta)
5 - The weather is getting better, at last, after a morning of rain!
6 - We are expecting an unknown guest from Ukraine, he is arriving today (I belong to an organisation that hosts people from all over the world) and we hope he is really nice and interesting to know!
7 - I applied for another job
Good night everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Evening everyone on this absolutely gorgeous evening!Shadowsfall wrote: »2. My iPod just popped on one of my fave tunes - Del Amitri 'Last To Know'.
Aah - a great track!
1) Coming home to some rather delicious banana bread that I made yesterday. Don't know why but this was a particularly good one!
2) 5 hours driving today... actually 6 hours when i take into accout going to and from work. This in itself is not a pleasure but I was driving to Kings Lynn and it was a very pretty drive.
3) related to pleasure 2... I stopped at a roadside stall and picked up some fresh asparagus.
4) Sunny evening - I must go and water my seedlings...
5) Everyone was slightly delirious at work today... not sure why... possibly something to do witht he sunshine?
Have a great evening.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

Shadowsfall wrote: »2. My iPod just popped on one of my fave tunes - Del Amitri 'Last To Know'. Wee!
You've had me singing that all afternoon! It's a good song, though, so I don't really mind.
My five for today (quickly, as the dinner's on and I want it cooked rather than burnt):
1) My closest friend at work was back, having been off sick for the past two weeks.
2) My Hairy Bikers' book was waiting for me when I got to work - I've so far resisted the temptation to peek as I'm supposed to be studying, but I will have a look at it later.
3) Made a start on my OU course - not much so far (particularly as I was supposed to start on Saturday), but it's better than nothing.
4) Managed to perk up some prawn crackers left over from Saturday's takeaway by sticking them in the oven for a few minutes, so I didn't have to throw them away as being stale (they were when I got them, which is why I didn't eat them at the time).
5) Apart from the crackers, everything for tonight's dinner is from the freezer - it's getting emptier by the day...
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -

Hi lovely people,
Here's my pleasures for today.
1. Hubbie & I tackled cleaning the cooker - top, grill, both ovens and tins draw - the fan oven is a horrid job as it splatters fat everywhere.
2. lungs better today -only one coughing fit ( at check out in Morries) getting used to saying I have COPD.
3. Sunshine all day
4. Bean trenches done and full of home made compost (including sprouting tatties)
5 Lots more growth on salad leaves, I'm really looking forward to our first feed.
6. taters in grow sack looked really healthy when we earthed them them up.
7 Managed a little bit of weeding on the bank in back garden - It's for meadow flower seed this year, but hoping to persuade hubby on a few bits of veg like asparagus, and other premium crops.
8 Revived my interest in chinese food tonight with an upmarket fried rice, all ingredients from fridge, cupboard or freezer. Fancy having a go at spring rolls and got some recipes off the web.
9 popped to Tesco for a bottle of wine and only bought one yellow sticker for the freezer - I'd have been silly to walk past a very lean pork joint at less than half price. then fell by the wayside & got a bunch of white roses for OHIt matters not if you try and fail, and fail and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, and fail to try again.

Ooh, wogglemaker, you're only up the road from me - could you send your hubby down to clean my oven?!
My 5 for today:
1. My car only needed two new wiper blades so the MOT cost a grand total of £66.63. Not bad for a 13 year old car!
2. I got to drive the garage's loan car. I enjoy driving and it was good to try something different.
3. The fact that the MOT came in so cheap has meant that I can put aside money this money for some minor house repairs that I'll get done next month. Always good.
4. Making a batch of soya yoghurt and being organised and cooking some kidney beans tonight for use tomorrow.
5. Good session at the gym - I felt on top of the world when I arrived at work.
6. Finishing to first draft my current short story. This one's quite short - 7,000 words, and has taken me about 10 days so far. It should be finished properly within the next few days.
7. Short day at work, although I had to work an hour extra due to taking the car in for the MOT first thing.
8. Ogling a gorgeous VW camper van at the garage. The mechanics told me that they get a lot of them and as and when I'm ready to buy one for myself, they can help. I've used the garage for years and trust them, and the son has a passion for camper vans, so that'll be useful.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
a brief 5 from a very tired sparrer
1. Pulm rehab class this morning, worked hard and feel I am slowly making progress
2. Visit to DD afterwards, saw DGD as she had finished lessons for the day, had lots of strokes and fusses with the dogs and the parrot
3. Had to stop at the shop on the way home but only bought milk
4. Attacked the kitchen after lunch, it was beaten into submission and now looks all ship shape and Bristol fashion again
5. Out to my fellowship this evening, a late one as everybody seemed to have lots to say
Now off to snuggle into my nest, night night sweet dreams
