savvyshe not posting is fine, even though it tires you at times you have a job and that's fine too :)
shadowsfall what a romantic your OH is, he must appreciate you very much :heartsmil
Kittikins so pleased your DD is feeling a little better, and well done on the car insurance refund :D
berniesmaster I know just what you mean, an animals love is unconditional, only humans want to hurt their own type for no reason
molly you did 50+ comps a day?! Gulp! How on earth do you find that many? Congrats on your 'few wins a week' though. Now I know why my occasional paltry entry never gets a prize ;). Sorry you have such a horrible neighbour but thank ghoodness you have some nice ones to compensate
niksyg I handed the treats over the fence, my neighbour took one out and my dog promptly ate it. Evil creature! I think they're okay as they're a good brand so pup shouldn't come to any harm
Ladyhawk you're flying high indeed! What with flying the helicopter and now having a batman of your own...we'll have to call you Lady Ladyhawk :D
villagelife aren't the gardens beautiful now, so much just coming to fruition and the tree so thick with blossom and greenery. A really lovely time to take tea in the garden and sit back to take stock of all the good things :)
house elf poor you, I've never had a migraine but feel for you as I've heard how awful they are. Hope you're over it by now and you can relax to recuperate for the weekend:D
newlywed hope you're feeling a bit brighter. Lucky you to get shoes at charity shops, well done on all your finds :j
wssla  at your inconsiderate neighbour.Sounds like you've made the best of what could have been a bad day, good for you :T
GirlySquare what a yummy evening - lamb tagine  for tea and Russell Howard  for afters :D
nuttybabe, thank you for giving me an idea, a fakeout night when I take the DGC on holiday. Can't afford to take them to eat out every night so this is a great alternative :j
wogglemaker congrats on the spring onions, I can't grow veg for toffee so am always envious of when people say what success they have. The tea sounds yummy, especially the leek and bacon squbble and beak :D

    My 5

    1. Sparrer has been a very naughty bird...went to Mr A and bought locally grown sparrow grass, or asparagus for the townies among us. It just looked so young and tender and was 'only' £1 for a bunch so I'll have it twice and will enjoy every bit, while trying not to feel guilty at blowing £1 on such a small amount of veg :o

    2. Got an email from HBase saying that if I buy something before the end of the month they'll give me an extra 500 Nectar points :D, so...

3 ...I took an unused pot of paint back to HBase and got the £12.99 refund, then spent it on a big planter for my yellow Buddleia ;)

    4. Met a friend and his wife in Mr A. with their adorable one week old baby daughter :A. Amazing, my babies didn't go out for the first 2/3 weeks and then only in the car or a very sheltered environment, not round a supermarket. Times have certainly changed

    5. Bought a sliced loaf as I thought it may be easier than my hm bread to make sandwiches with, and had a salad sandwich for tea. Oh Yuk!:eek::eek: now I know why I make my own bread and am so very grateful that I can :T

    Night night, sweet dreams

Morning all, and what a lovely one it is too. Thanks SPARRAR for the kind words,:A had a really horrible start to yesterday, DDP forgot to pick me up for work DS3 lost some important form and we spent 1hour looking for it, remembered I left some work in car and DH had left for work + important paper was also in car so consequently was late for work. then had to catch bus. Thankfully DH brought my work and dropped DS3 paper to us during his morning break so calm was restored, going to try to chill out and not get so stressed in future, famous last words:rotfl: Not doing much today but need to take DS2 for some trainers (overdue birthday present) he works in catering so getting time to spend with him is rare.:) I have borrowed DS1 GF sewing machine and am going to alter some curtains I got from CS last week. I have in the past put eyelet tape and rings on previously gathered curtains and then threaded them on the pole. They look lovely and give a new lease of life to curtains for a few pounds and its really easy too. So that should keep me busy tonight. here are my pleasures for yesterday

    1)Seeing DH with my work
    2) boss telling me to make a cup of tea a chill out
3)lovely jacket cheese and coleslaw for lunch(leftovers)
4)refusing flapjack and sarnie at work:A
5)DH got a bonus another £60 for hols (every little helps)
    6) glass of wine and falling asleep in front of fire
Off now to get grumpy DS3 up for his golf lesson
Hugs to everyone and have a nice day xx Savvyshe:)

I'm with you on that one, sparrer, I won't be going back to shop bought bread! Have just had two slices of homemade toast topped with mushrooms for breakfast - yum, yum, yum! It's not just the flavour that's better, the texture is superior too.

What a lovely day here in Bristol!

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Short day at work - we finish at 4pm on a Friday.

    2. New season "The Mentalist" on TV to enjoy in the evening.

    3. Finding out that my faulty set-top box is still under warranty so I can get a replacement.

    4. Doing my next week's grocery shopping and the bill being less than £3 - menu planning, batch cooking and a no-waste policy really do work. Should be well within my May grocery target.

    5. Catching up with sleep, as despite knowing that I shouldn't do it, I've been burning the candle at both ends again. It was good to come home and have a nap.

    Have a great day, everyone.

OMG, do you live near me!!!!!!!!! My neighbour is just like that! She has never spoken to me in the 3 years we have lived here and wont speak to her other neighbour because when WE paid to replace HER fence (got fed up with her dogs using our garden as a toilet and barking at me when I went into my own garden), she complained to them that we asked her for half and they said she should have paid the full amount!!! :D

Our neighbour got annoyed because we built a wall to replace a rickety fence that was there before as well!
She did nothing but moan about how high it was (It's a sloped garden so its about 5' high one end and 3' at the other) and that she "couldn't see into our garden now to see what we were doing"!
She is OK most of the time, but she is incredibly nosey - last weekend I was weeding the garden for 30minutes and she came out 3 times to see what I was doing and to offer advice on how I could do it better! lol

    Afternoon,

My pleasures for the last couple of days:

    Yesterday;
    1. Had a extra 20 minutes in bed as no one needed packed lunch.
    2. YS toasted hotcross bun for breakfast
    3. Met OH for lunch as he was off work. Went to a lovely pub near my office which is like being in a country pub but actually really near the town.
    4. Walk home from work in the sunshine
    5. Chatting to parents on the phone and they had received lots of goodies in the post that I ad ordered for them either as a freebie or a bargain. Very happy mum and dad plus the dog as he had some of the free dog treats and they are his favourite.

    Today:
    1. Tea and toast in bed, made by DD
    2. Shopping trip into town with DD, we needed to get things for her camping trip next week. All bought and not too expensive. I love the £1 shop.
    3. Lunch out with DD, she wanted pizza but as I hadn't picked up a voucher said no. She came up with the idea of going to the library and printing a voucher out there from her email. How could I refuse after that. She is learning MSE well:money:
    4. Bought 2 M&S dine in deals as a treat and know they will stretch into several meals
    5. Enjoying having the windows and doors open in the sunshine

Hugs to all who need them.

    Mine for today

    1 A lie in :j

2 My hm fruit loaf for breakfast!

3 Kids played out in garden all morning so I cleaned the kitchen in peace.

4 Kids played in their rooms all afternoon so I could look at my blog and I have added links to other blogs I like!! :T Cant believe i managed that! And they even tidied up after themselves.

5 As kids had a lie in this morning we are letting them stay up a bit later today as well and watch a film with us.

6 Popped to Asda to get the 27p cherry toms but they had sold out and had no whoopsies  BUT got dh's favourite pizza for £2 each rather than over £3 so got the last 4 on the shelf!!!!! Should stop him wanting to order pizza for a while!! :p

Thats it for me. Have a good evening everyone.

    Hi all

Hope everybody is well and hugs to all who need them. Quick as I am going to cook dinner in a mo', here are my pleasures for the day:

1 - Breakfast in bed for me and DH (I made it this time!) Scrambled eggs on toast with smoked salmon followed by strawberries from yesterday's M&S yellow sticker forage.

2 - Out walking in the park with my friend.

3 - She bought me a nice cup of tea

4 - Because of the mild and on-off sunny weather I chanced 3/4 length trousers and sandals, for the first time in the season!

5 - Nice rest this afternoon

6 - DH planting in the garden the plants that were threatening to take over our bedroom

7 - DH and DD's BF fixed the bathroom cabinet to the wall, now the bathroom is nearly finished (just a matter of tidying up a bit).

    Love to all xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

A very relaxed good evening to all in os pleasure zone. Cuddles and huggs to all poorly or under the weather.

    Here are mine for today,

    1 lovely sunny day.
2 Notebook has not crashed today
3 4New patio nearly finished, builder finishing off on Monday
4 Finished winding off the Resource Center wool. It's mostly guinness brown, but will be great for charity crochet.
5 Feel better this evening than I have done all day
6 Managed to do some prep for tonights lamb stew (huby did mos of it) it was lush.
7 HM rhubarb fool made todsay, low fat, no added sugar (just sweetener). It was more rhubarb than fool and really nice. No added sugar musli was on top lunchtime which made it really filling and healthy

    Evening everyone,

Hope you have had a fabulous day and enjoyed the sunshine.

    1) Lie in

    2) £50 worth of John Lewis vouchers arrived in the post this morning from the survey people... woo! They are going towards my Kenwood Chef...

    3) Went into London to meet a friend. I only got a return to King X (so saved £4 on my ticket) and then walked down to meet her in Holborn. Then walked back to meet some other friends for dinner.

    4) made some pies and tarts at lunch time... 1 roast veggie and camambert, 1 asparagus and a beef pastie

    5) Rocking to the radio as I cleaned the kitchen this afternoon - it's a Damon Albarn weekend so loads of classic Blur.

    Have a great Sunday.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Savvyshe oh dear, all sounds a bit of a kerfuffle, but pleased it sorted itself out in the end. How strong you are, refusing a flapjack, I don't think I could go that far ;)
savingforoz you bought a weeks groceries for £3? That's excellent MSE style :T
molly your daft neighbour should have been pleased, a wall looks much nicer than rickety fencing. You just can't please some people
Tealady what a savvy girl your DD is, she was determined to get her pizza and certainly deserved it! :D
nuttybabe not only will everyone have fakeouts but they'll be paid for a la Reverbe :D. Well done kids for tiying up after playing
Caterina your breakfast sounds delicious. It feels good to wear summer clothes doesn't it? Though I still take a cardi with me just in case :)
wogglemaker pleased you're feeling better today. The rhubarb fool sounds yummy :D
Ladyhawk your baking sessions sounds lovely, especially the veggie and Camembert tart. There's definitely a foodie theme running through the pleasures today :D

    My 5 -

    1. nsd

    2. Found £25 gardening vouchers my DB gave me for Christmas and I'd put away 'somewhere safe'...Sunday will be garden centre day :D

    3. Grilled bacon in a panini with ketchup for lunch

    4. An evening with friends

    5. Both brooms I planted have produced - no, not lots of little hand brushes :D, but masses of flowers, one deep red, the other yellow/orange. The look really nice each side of a phormium which has deep blue berries after flowering, all sitting on the front patio, quite striking if I do say so meself ;)

    Night night sleepy tight
