1. Bought a chook in Mr A for £3, it's done two roast dinners, a salad, a sandwich, and I stripped the rest, put it in the wok with red onion, red pepper, tomatoes, mushrooms, some odds from the bottom of the fridge and a few handfuls of pasta. It's made 7 portions for future dinners so 11 meals in total, which I'm really pleased with :)S x
Respect sparrer, I thought I did well with my organic but I think you beat me

Afternoon all, hope you are all well
Yesterdays pleasures:
- DH did a good deed for my sister and took her new PC part over and fixed it for her before work, she was very pleased.
- Made a pasta bake for tea and extra for lunches too using bits from the fridge.
- Started entering competitions again. I used to enter 50-100 a day on the comps board on here and would win a few prizes each week. I don't have time to do that since DD came along, but I want to do a few each day and maybe I will get lucky again!
- Getting bathroom mats and doggy bedding clean and dried on the line. Its a job I don't do very often, but it really needed to be done.
- Realising I won't have to do a big shop this weekend as I have everything we need here already.
Sneaky 6th pleasure!
- DH's friend, who has a smallholding, has just got some pigs (for eating, not as pets!) and has given us "first dibs" when the pigs are ready. We will also be buying a regular supply of eggs from her once her new chooks arrive.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set
Debt free thanks to MSE0 -
shadowsfall - he's in the Royal Marines, so tour to Afghanistan. It's not for a while though, thank goodness!
sparrer - my free treats were at home when I got back yesterday - pup likes them, but I think they look a bit dodgy so not sureifI'll let him have them!
Just popped in during lunch, will be back later for pleasures!!
Hope you're having a great day!Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -
will reply and catch up later, but Re: Ollie, is it worth us starting a thread or something as someone might know her in real life and put our minds at rest?
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -
I think that would be a good idea Jexy, we all miss her (and I looked at her profile and she's not been online since late April.)
Ollie, if you're reading, really hope everything is okay with you and yours xx0 -

I've considered taking him home, though it's not ideal as he would need a hutch and a run. Plus the dog would be far too interested in him! I think the cat would jsut stare at him and play with his mind rather than attempt to eat him. She's 13 now. Totally understand what you mean about those people you mentioned. There should be much stonger punishments in place and measures taken to ensure it doesn't happen. Anyway!!This is a pleasures thread if I'm correct and therefore I should shhh and be happy about something!!
Ah yes, your little pup rolling over, that's ever so sweet. I remember when my pup before Doglet was a baby and would just flop! So wuverly. We got Doglet when she was 2 so didn't see that stage of her life, she's still a naughty puppy now though, coming up 3 :rotfl:shadowsfall - he's in the Royal Marines, so tour to Afghanistan. It's not for a while though, thank goodness!
Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday, 1 hour to go til hometime for me... lush!0 -
Hi Everyone...
Hope you are well.
Had a really busy few days so am very glad that it is the weekend finally.
1) Went to a work dinner last night which was quite fun. Stayed ona beautiful hotel overlooking westminster bridge and Big Ben. Pity I didn't get a chance to enjoy the facilities though.
2) Amost a NSW!!! All I have spent this week has been the £3.15 for ten pin bowling. I am very impressed with myself as I was tempted to crack a number of times. I thought today would be a write off as I popped into Asda to buy some breakfast (on expenses so doesn't count!) but it was £1 to park the car until you spent over £10... I spent way less than that and the nice man still stamped my card for me...
3) Really interesting meet today for a huge and strategically very important 3 year project that we have just kicked off. It is really good to be involved in it. So glad I didn't leave my job 3 months ago! (The meeting also involved a sandwich lunch)
4) Test results back for the furbabe - he's just fine so no worries there.
5) Boss called this afternoon to say that I am going to get my very own minion! Basically one of the more junior members of the team will start reporting into me and helping me with my workload... which is rather daunting!
Anyway have a fabulous weekend
L
4)Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
My five for today are
1. Meeting a friend who I haven't seen for a while and had a good chat.
2. Meeting at a local garden and being able to see the lovely gardens and especially the bluebells.
3. Sent off my ebay parcels - clutter out of the house.
4. Toast and homemade marmalade for breakfast.
5. All washing dried outside including dogs bedding.
6. Gorgeous sunny day.0
