    Good morning everyone,

Congratulations Newlywed on your second interview. My DH had just the same problem at the beginning of this year but luckily he finally got a great job with a good pay increase. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right job to find you. You were obviously not meant to have the others.

wssla, how long did you have to wait for that. We have a friend who has SOPD and lost his wife last July. He's currently waiting for his second tribunal to get his mobility status back. He's stuck in the house all the time as he doesn't have a car and he can't walk 50 yards. We try and get him out as much as we can but it's hard with a baby as well.

Here are my 5 for yesterday.

    1. Went into town again and got some more bargains. I now have to have NSDs for the rest of May but I enjoyed myself.
    2. DH managed to do some dish washing for me. I don't seem to keep to my routine as much at the weekend with DH home and then regret it for the rest of the week.
    3. Bought some more gluten free bread flour so I can put the bread maker on today.
    4. Had a chinese takeaway last night but DH paid for it. I had to collect it after my appointment at the family planning clinic.
    5. Had a lovely chat with the doctor at the family planning clinic. It's the usual, "How could you produce an 11lb pound baby, you're so small". Oh well,.

I'm planning on having a NSD and a lovely walk to the stay and play at the children's centre today. DS loves all the different toys there, it's so fun to watch. Have a lovely day. :)

    Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a lovely day :hello:

CCP - apparently man-flu is worse than I thought as I haven't heard anything from him since yesterday afternoon! We normally speak three times a day :( I think he has a bug, he's been very ill which is quite unlike him. Miss him.

Well done Ladyahwk on the flying! Hawk by name, hawk by nature!

sparrer tee hee! Yep. That's one amusing contest to have with one's mother! :)

    My five for today...
    1. It is nearly Friday.
    2. Hope to see OH tonight... really missing him after just one day of hardly talking! Hope he's feeling better.
    3. Listening to some Christy Moore and Johnny Cash this morning, great lyrics in some of the songs. Very inspiring.
    4. Cleaned my room last night and it's quite pleasant to be in now!
    5. I glanced up through my sunroof and saw a brilliant blue sky with some sun-drenched leaves above me. Made sitting in the traffic worth it.
    6. tanned last night so I'm feeling pretty :)
    7. Recalled my summers in Canada while listening to 'Summer of 69' by Bryan Adams. Mine were all after 99, but it did the trick!
    8. My cousins are coming over from Canada in August so that makes me happy.
    9. Having silly text conversations with my best mate now he's back in my life again. Very silly!
    10. My mate is having a bday party next month and it's Rockabilly/trailer trash themed. It will be so fun. I can't wait to dress up!

Wow, got to 10, that was slower today. Have a lovely Thurs all ;)

Wee update on Man-flu issue: rec'd call from OH and he is alive and requested my company for cuddles tonight :)

It took about three months and they asked for information from my GP as well. Is it COPD he has? If not forgive my ignorance, what is SOPD? It's a difficult system and the form is horrendous. Hope he gets something through soon. Here is an interesting information piece from DWP on the medical conditions and their ideas of them.

Here are mine for the day:

    1. Winning some seeds in a competition
    2. Going out later to get the dine in for a tenner and finding in the post three £1 vouchers from my m and s card
    3. Seeing it's not so sunny today so hopefully the pollen count will be better today
    4. Having a lay in
    5. Getting some lunch out today.... well I will when I go into town.

Have a good day all :)

 Good afternoon all from a lovey sunny Gloucester

    Katholicos
way to go a fair old haul of goodies there

Here's two days worth from me

    Wednesday
    1. DS still working hard at putting right wot he did wrong on our cheap referb notebook

2.Our seed tatties are finaly showing through.

    3. My first attempt at Coronation Chicken was a roaring sucess - have had to make a dose for dd's tea tommorrow. Morrisons mango chutney off the deli is absolutly purrrfect.

    4. It looks like our mystery shrub (free in a morrisons plumb tree) may be a japonica. Only hope I'm still around when it fruits 'cause I absolutely love quince marmalade.:j

    5. Drooling at the thought of raiding dads rhubarb next weekend, got lots of new recipes to try

Do you detect a theme here :D

    Today
    1. took some useful bits and bobs down to our local Resource Centre (the old butchers aprons will make ideal painting cover-ups).

    2. Got a large carrier bag of real wool for my crochet, some little bits for my Operation Christmas child boxes and a load of film canisters (having COPD there is a lot of phlem that needs to be quietly got rid of when you cough in public) and they are ideal. Total spend £2.50

    3. Washing drying on the line in the sun

    4. Bean trech dug over, mucked, growmored and weeded

5 No cook day today, DD doing Gammon egg & chips for DS and herself. Hubby the other half of a quiche so I'll get a wuick zapable out of the freezer

6.watching Bootsie "kill" a radish that hubby flicked at her tail. Had a go at the suns reflection off my watch face, then finaly kill & try eating a worm.

    7. Mrs blackbird is as tame as Mr robin coming really close for the worms turned over in the bean trench

huggs to all who need them

    Hi all

A very busy NSD today as I stayed at home and got things done instead of going out and spending money.

Sparrer, thanks for good wishes re. work. Will keep you posted.

    Newlywed
, many good wishes for your second interview, let us know how it goes!

    niksyg
, glad you liked my recipe!

Here are my pleasures for the day:

1 - Up early this morning, feeling energised to get things done

2 - Laundry done and out on the line as weather promises to stay dry

3 - Lots of gardening (clearing) done, ready for DH to plant (we have very big and spindly beans, courgettes and tomatoes sitting in our bedroom and they MUST go into the earth soon!).

4 - Cleared all the old spinach, kale, cauliflower and beetroot plants and got enough leaves to make a few portions of side greens (one to be had tonight with chick peas!). Also cooked my last 5 beetroots from last year's planting.

5 - A friend came visiting and brought me a present from her trip abroad (and I gave her something from my trip to Italy). She also got a lot of spinach and beetroots from my garden.

6 - Another friend came along later on and also brought me a present and got one from me (also from Italy). She used to be a colleague and we sat and talked about the organisation for a long time. Hearing about the problems made me really glad to have left (perhaps this should be a pleasure in itself!).

7 - Got quite a lot of ironing done - what a regular Stepford Wife I have turned into !

Have a great evening everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi all, thanks for the good wishes.

The second interview is on Tues and for a completely different type of job (although the experience I have is a good background for it). So it sounds really interesting, exciting and slightly scary all at once!! Then on Weds I have an interview for a similar job to what I was doing - safe, sounds like a good firm, but further to travel. Both have the same wage band down. What happens if I get offered both :o Do I do what I know, or leap into the slightly unknown? Wish I hadn't lost all my confidence with redundancy :o

    Anyway, here's mine:

    1. Lack of sleep (too many weird dreams about interviews and new jobs) meant an early start so got more done - and I'm still awake!

    2. The sunshine came out so I sat on the decking and looked at our plants (for about 10 minutes, till it went cloudy).

    3. Shiny clean bathroom thanks to flylady thread.

    4. The malt loaf I tried to make turned out like a brick and went in the bin so that's less calories and kinder to my hips!

    5. I have food, a full freezer, a full cupboard, a roof, a bed, running water, heat and electricity, as well as friends and family. That's all I truly need.
