CCP - hope everything goes well with your trip to see your Grandma.

Got a bit of a week coming up... My little son is being investigated about his possible autism so it was speech and language last week and we see the occupational therapist on Thursday. And I have to have an MRI on Friday because of the nerve damage in my left hand (due to mashing my arm). They want to rule out that the nerves in my neck aren't damaged (???) so they'll be scanning that bit for a change! Oh, and have to see the solicitor about my statement for my next time in court against the ex.

    Anyway, 5 for today!

    1) Had a free morning so did paperwork, made a few phone calls and did my college homework. And changed my bed and did 2 loads of washing!

    2) Had lunch at mum and dad's. Dad's friend was there too and he's always good for a sensible chat.

    3) Boys reasonably jolly after school and little son was quite pleased that he'd managed to rip the entire knee out of his trousers! (It must be a sign of strength or football playing prowess or something).

    4) Went swimming after tea with boys and my brother and we got the goal posts out and played "water polo". We've got season tickets so we can use the pool at a local boarding school and its always deserted.

    5) My neighbour came round 9ish with some pudding as he'd made too much!

Hoping it doesn't get any colder than this because I put the sweet pea plants in over the weekend...

house elf lol at dancing like a mummy...I think most of us have been slightly miffed by a DC saying something like that. I can assure you, it gets worse before it gets better ;)
lilian that's a super link, lots of useful stuff on there and good that they do other areas than just London :). Lots of bargains in your mag too
niksyg thank you, feeling much brighter today. Hope the test results were what you wanted to hear:)
Mrs Toast, pleased you got the leathers etc you both wanted. What do you ride? Your DS sounds as though he's at the 'investigate everything' stage :D. Well done on the weight loss :j
Kittikins well done on the pastry, it's the one thing I just can't get right and I've been trying for years! Hope DD gets better soon with lots of cuddles from you and her granddad :)
Shadowsfall re your #2...they say people speak the truth when they're pickled...he could mean it! We'll watch this space :D
Tealady I do admire you doing all that laundry before work. When I was working it was as much as I could do to get myself there , I'm definitely an evening person
CCP good luck with the drive. I know it's daunting before you get in the car but once you're on your way you'll be fine :)
zara yummy pineapple, much nicer than tinned
wssla the dinner sounds delish, nice to have a good simple meal like that now and again. Love tomato soup, it's been just the weather for it too
lysa re your #3 I know what you mean, it seemed no-one was going to take the first step, but now things are beginning to move it shouldn't be long before the country has a leader again. All been a bit of a fiasco, hasn't it?!
Caterina no news yet, a couple of us have sent pm's to Ollie and mine went through bu unfortunately the second one didn't as her message box is full. Nothing from Reverbe for a while either so hope she's okay. Hope you got the position you wanted at WI, whatever it is you'll give it 100% as you do everything
Ladyhawk good luck on the NSW! Lol at your compliment :o
GirlySquare well done to your DD for the inhaler efforts :T. Sorry to hear step-dad has banned evening calls/visits, seems he doesn't want to make life easy for anyone, including himself. Hope he has a change of heart
Mollie a very belated happy birthday, sounds like you had a day to remember! And more to come tomorrow (today), congratulations :D
nuttybabe your homebakes sound scrummy, especially well done on guessing the flour and having the scones turn out well
adelight well done on taking lunch to work. Hope you feel brighter tomorrow, it's hard to be away from someone you love ((((Hugs)))) to you
ACEY good luck with little sons investigation and your OT appointment. Wishing you both well

    My 5 -

    1. Pulm rehab exercise class this morning, we did more laughing than exercising. The best medicine and it's free :D

    2. DD and I went out for lunch, superb 2 meals for £9, then a rest for coffee, then raspberry mess...similar to Eton mess but without the strawbs of course. Delish!

3.On Monday of last week I advertised on freecycle for some shed paint, a tiny bit of deep blue. It was a long shot and of course no-one replied so I bought a tin this afternoon. When I got home there was an email from a freecycler who had the exact colour I'd just bought! She's even going to drop it off tomorrow on her way to work, how very kind people are :). So I'll just check how much is in the tin, and probably be able to take my new one back for a refund of £12.99 :j

    4. I was going to buy louvred shutters for the shed window but DD has offered to make some, the old fashioned gingerbread house sort with a heart-shaped cut out in the middle. I just have to provide the wood, an offcut which I can get for pennies at the local building suppliers :D

    5. Stopped at the farm shop on the way back to DD's house, they had the mogs favourite food on offer so bulk bought, it cost under half than I'd pay in the supermarket :T

    That's all folks!
    Night night sleepy tight

Yes, where are Ollie and Reverbe? I miss them.

    Happy belated birthday, molliethewestie!

Good luck with the interview, Caterina! Good to see you back with us.

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Visiting my friend from work who has just had her second baby. It was great to catch up and I am looking forward to her coming back to work soon, even if she isn't quite so keen!

    2. Going from her house to see another friend and her hubby plus three cats. They did a yummy pasta dish for tea and again it was good to catch up.

    3. Short day at work, leaving at 3pm - always good!

    4. Wonderful cuddles from Fudge Foster Cat after I went to bed. I was reading in bed and she was snuggled up against me with her head on my shoulder. She is lovely.

    5. Doing another 1,100 words on my short story.

    6. Feeling on top of the world all day.

    Have a good day, everyone.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Ta! He says it a lot while sober too so I'm expecting something fun to happen within the next year! :T He mentioned yesterday that he really liked our little sozzled chat.

Hope you all are enjoying a fab Tuesday. I shall jump straight in...

    1. Docs appt this morn so shorter day at workies!
    2. Getting my ISA sorted slowly. Thinking of closing rather than opening so will be having a chat with a nice guy I used to work with about it. Much better than trawling through various numbers and speaking to call centres!
    3. Going for a walk with my best mate later - he's been away for a while as he was having to deal with some unreciprocated feelings... now he's back being my mate again. Did miss him while he was gone.
    4. Without even running it past anyone, one of OHs housemates had loads of people over all afternoon til late. We couldn't fit in the living room to watch The Pacific like we do every Monday :( as they were all in there. Quite rude considering they started drinking OHs beer too. Tisk. The pleasure was that we spent the whole night together in his room with dinner on bed and non-Sky telly and it was lovely.
    5. OH telling me that he's coming up to see me more often than I expected while I'm away on a course for two weeks in June. Was lovely that he had made a plan and wanted to come up to spend time with me :D

Have a great day all, I've got some coffee to drink and work to jump into! Catch you later :)

    Hi everyone

Molly - hope you had a lovely birthday!
Shawdowsfall - looking forward to hearing a wedding announcement :D
Sparrer - your shed sounds lovely.
ACEY - what a BUSY week you have!
Kittikins - hope DD feels better soon

Sorry to anyone I've missed, am posting speedily at work! Hugs to those that need them and waves to those that are happy!

    Some things for today:

    1. Up early again, watered seedlings in the garden that are now starting to poke through

    2. Lunch with a friend who's having a birthday today - not MS but will be nice

    3. She liked her birthday presents as well - a bag and purse from the Boots Xmas sale and the SJP 'Twilight' perfume that I got free with a 6 month Glamour subscription - perfect as she loves SATC and Twilight! So I made her happy for very little cost.

    4. Have my gym induction today but think I might reschedule so I have time to go swimming as otherwise I won't get a chance today.

    5. Free cinema tonight thanks to SFF - seeing Bad Lieutenant which looks good.

    Have great days everybody :D

Hi everyone. Just a quick log in for yesterdays 5 it will be a struggle but here goes.

    1. A long check up with my favourite lady g.p.
    2. Lungs not bad enough to be admitted
    3. managed to negociate a 30 mg course of steroids instead of 40 which sends me high as a kite.
    4. water blisters on scar tissue do not need poping and dressing
    5. I'm ok to "go with flow" food wise when I feel grotty (not got any apitite(sp)) but just keep a close eye on blood sug level and insulin.
    6. Slowly getting used to insulin and steroid effects - trust me to be unusual and be steroid induced diabetic.

Then again I do not do anything the easy way. Got run over by a horse being driven down the pavement outside the Doctors the first time I went to get leg dressings changed :D AND when I fell over last year I didn't land on level ground but on the horizontal edge of a concrete path and ended up with maggott dressings to debride ithe wound. Mind you they do work wonders.

    huggles and waves all around.

    Hello lovelies!

Well the test results were good in that it wasn't the worst possible news....but I did have to have another biopsy and have the area removed, which wasn't very nice, so working from home today as my boss felt sorry for me!

Not really been doing much so no real pleasures, except the landlord's handyman came and fixed the shower so we are no longer limited to baths, and I picked up a lovely wooden standard lamp stand and cream shade from a generous freegle-er...needs a bit of tlc and a lick of paint and it'll look gorgeous in the spare room.

Hope you're all having a good day x
