Hi all
Thank you to all of you who keep welcoming me back, it is great to be back and slowly getting back to normal (until 5th June when I shall go to the Isle of Wight with DH for a week and then will come back to the usual mayhem - but maybe THAT is "normal"!)
Quick appearance before starting housework, already done a shopping (stocked up on laundry liquid as I had some vouchers to use up) and can't be bothered to start the cleaning until after lunch. Luckily DD is going to help me a bit.
Love to all and see you later for pleasures xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hi all! :j
Nuttybabe hope you're having a better day today - sounds like you work pretty hard and aren't receiving much thanks!? Jexy as always, loving the chicken tales! Naughty birdies. Lovely to see how they've blossomed since you've had them - also, looks like they have a lovely space to be in - that view in your pic was beautiful! Hope you're having a better time posting today! CCPmany kind vibes coming your way. Also, totally agree about this thread - cheers me up too! Caterina - welcome backGreat to see more people joining - lysasparkles, savvyshe and hello to anyone I missed! Apps, I tried to find you all! :hello: Ladyhawk about the Ben and Jerry's - Tesco do a much cheaper (very yummy!) version of four of the main flavours - thoroughly recommend if you're in the market! Savingforoz do you have a link for the novel course you went on? It sounds rather interesting.
Rightyho! My pleasures...
1. Went to a county fair Sunday with DM, DF and OH - had much fun and much 7% cider was consumed... hic! Watching the 'Wall of Death' while tipsy on the juice was a new experience!
2. OH telling me yesterday while we were both a tad wobbly that he's going to marry me soon :heart2: tee hee!
3. Made yummy natchos last night with odd bits in the fridge including courgette! Random yet scrummy. Rave reviews from OH.
4. Little doglet was very sad yesterday as she'd done something to her paw late in the dayhowever, seeing her go get a hug from DM was very sweet. Think it's a sprain.
5. Little doglet was, previous to paw incident, very happy as she did the Agility class with DM at the fair - she was the best! She is so good at it, was very proud.
6. Saw some very lovely pups at the fair - husky types - which I love. Beautiful.
7. Met one baby - that's one down, two to go! :rotfl: She was teeny and cried when OH (who is the Godfather) held her. Was nice to see him holding the baby as I had a brief moment of 'so that's what it'll look like when we do it...'. Cute.
8. Oh and met the kitten too - black and with a wee white moustache! So sweet. Stood on the palm of my hand. Think OH might succumb to liking cats when the time is right, as he was playing with it too
9. Did a piece of work and had a positive review of it when I was expecting less positive feedback, so that's nice.
10. Oh! Just remembered - I called Orange today wanting a cheaper deal. Having reading the advice on the main site, I managed to get to a brill deal with a really nice phone! Yay, I can't bel I forgot that!
:coffee: I'm off for a cuppa! Enjoy a brill day all

Afternoon
Posting early as difficult to get online at home still until new laptop arrives this week.
Mine for today:
1. Getting a load of washing on the line this morning which will hopefully be dry when I get home.
2. Big pile of ironing done before work and the kitchen tidied
3. OH taking three big bags of DD's clothes to the charity shop. She is a real horder so pleased she has finally got rid of some of the things that no longer fit
4. Winning £10 of lovetoshop vouchers on a survey site:jand collecting a £5 win from a scratchcard that was in a birthday card from my friends children.
5. Looking forward to Beef and Root Vegetable pie for dinner (not homemade but very yummy, bought at the real food festival). Easy dinner for me tonight. Might get a batch of twinks done or may just relax with a glass of wine;)
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hi everyone
Things for today:
1) Watered lettuce seedlings and spuds this morning - finally seeing some green poking through which cheered me up!
2) Salad for lunch was lovely
3) Went to Pilates at lunchtime - very hard work but I can feel the benefits already. Will help in future as am trying to conceive.
4) Sausages and mash for tea - yum - hoping to make Jamie's onion gravy to go with it!
5) Got my She magazine subscription through the post (3 for £1, got because of the free gift face cream with the subscription, can use it for my mum's Xmas present) - there is a voucher for some Sally Hansen nail strengthener in there so will pop to Boots after work and pick it up.
6) Flashforward tonight! It's getting so good (and Dominic Monaghan is!)

Afternoon everyone.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts - it's much appreciated. I've spoken to my grandmother today and she sounds fairly cheerful, although very dozy - probably not surprising considering the massive doses of painkillers she's taking. I've arranged to go and visit her and my other grandmother (who lives two streets away) on Friday, and I can't say I'm looking forward to it - apart from anything else it's a long and not very nice drive, which I've never done by myself before. Wish me luck, guys!
jex - thanks for that chicken photo - it's brilliant and really made me laugh!
My pleasures for today (5 of them, I hope):
1) It's been sunny for most of the day (although not right at the moment, admittedly).
2) Short day at work as I was working from home this afternoon - shame I spent it working through a 3000 page, un-proof read, very dull report, though.
3) Received a £12 voucher for doing surveys.
4) Popped into Waitrose at lunchtime and picked up some decent whoopsies, including some very posh brie and a Pizza Express pizza (which is dinner sorted out)
5) Watching my cat chase a leaf out in the garden. He seems to keep forgetting he's 18 years old and really a bit mature to be chasing leaves.
Have a lovely evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -

Here are mine for today
1. Having a nice cup of hot choc to cheer myself up at work.
2. Managed to clear out some clothes i no longer wear, i'm hoping to get decluttered eventually, sure it will make me feel better lol!
3. Gordon brown has quit, its not that i dont like him i'm just not liking this state of confusion at the moment so this has made me feel a bit better for some reason.
4. Finally starting to warm up after a day of being freezing.
5. Had a lovely cuddle off one of my hammys this morning, he's sweet when he's still half asleepys!Aug £10 a day £0/£10000 -
Hi all, old and new!
CCP, good to hear about your communication with your grandmother, at least you know that she is cheerful and well looked after.
Does anyone have news of Ollie and Reverbe?
Here are my pleasures for the day:
1 - Life is getting back to normal after my Italian trip
2 - Did a shopping trip this morning and managed to get some very expensive laundry liquid quite reduced as they had an offer and I also had 4 x £1 off vouchers, so now I am stocked up with 10lt concentrated laundry liquid that should see me through the next few months at least! (Decided to ditch the eco-stuff for a while because all our clothes are grey and miserable-looking)
3 - Lunch of leftover lentil and veg soup from last night, with some of the gorgeous bread that DD's BF brings from his workplace.
4 - Managed to do 3 lots of laundry and ironed half the mountain (the next half hopefully will be done tomorrow)
5 - I have an interview on Thursday for a part time job, not sure it is the right thing for me but it will be interesting to see what it is like before turning it down (if offered, that is!).
6 - Excellent dinner of homemade salmon fishcakes, steamed green beans and kale (from the garden!). Pudding was some leftover apple and rhubarb compote left over from yesterday dinner.
7 - Am about to go to our local WI committee meeting, I have been co-opted and am not yet sure whether I shall be the secretary or the treasurer, it will be decided tonight.
Have a good night everybody xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
