Just got a spare 5 minutes to post my pleasures for today as I probably won't have chance later:

    - Massive supermarket shop as the freezer was looking a little sorry for its self, we needed lots of staple ingrediants to start batch cooking again (Onions, potatoes, stock cubes, fish, meats, dried fruits etc.) Also had to buy a new toaster as ours will only work if it wants too!
    - Resisted temptation and made our own healthy sandwiches for lunch rather than buying a pasty and cake at the bakers.
    - Lost 2lbs weight
    - Just been to a small get together and met some distant family members that I had never met before and they were all lovely. I wore a pre-pregnancy top too, so my diet must be working!
    - Later I intend to put my feet up, read my book and maybe a little glass of wine too

    Evening all

thanks Blimus, i just want thursday to be over with so we know whats going to happen!

I am having a really bad day. Have been in a foul mood most of the day and I am blaming dh!! :p Last weekend i took my mate shopping and left him with the kids so he didnt speak to me for the rest of the day. Well, last night she phoned in a panic asking if i could drop her up the nursery to pick up her son as the bus route had changed and she didnt know so was late which I did and dh didnt speak to me again! So today my car didnt work and he ranted down the phone at me like it was my fault!! I feel like i am always clearing up after him and i get no thanks in return, he moaned about my gloop today as well as he said his clothes smell like feet (no honey, that would be you!!! :p). He doesnt do things like shut the gate when he has been in back garden so the dog gets down the garden and poos everywhere, its always left to me to clear up after the dog, walk him and do everything, same with rabbit but its dh who buys the animals!!! ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:mad: ok, rant over. sorry, just been one of those days!!

Will try to find 5 good things now

1 lots of cuddles from dd today

    2 cleaned kitchen

    3 made twinks

4 whoopsie sausages and bread so had a sausage sandwich for lunch

5 the big glass of wine i will have after i put the kids to bed! :D

    Have a good evening everyone.

    :hello:Welcome Villagelife and Prophecy_grrl:hello:

Nuttybabe - hope the large glass of wine helps and you perk up soon.

I have been so lazy today... it's quite disgraceful really!

    1) Drinks, dinner and a trip to the theatre last night with Kiwiboy. We went to see 39 Steps which was rather amusing. Kiwiboy is very confusing though... I would have though any normal guy would have taken the opportunity of a dark theatre to at least hold my hand or put his hand on my leg... but nothing! And I looked HOT!

    2) Took the two furbabes for the jabs this morning and they were both very good. Felix had some blood tests so it turned out to be a rather expensive little outing.

    3) Afternoon kip... I really needed it!

    4) My flat is not too untidy - so all I need to do tomorrow will be a quick run round.

    5) Chatted to my friend G... we used to live together (and get on so much better now we don't!) and he is moving down to London soon. I will miss him since he is about the only friend I have in the town I live in :( We have committed to meeting for dinner before he does move.

Hope you are all warm and not too damp in this bloody miserable weather!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    1. Went to see a very funny one-man show at a local theatre with DD this morning, she really participated in all the singing and calling out answers, bless her!

    2. Enjoyed a picnic in the flipping car afterwards as it was raining, takes me back to my 8th birthday party

    3. Went to local Steiner schooler market and saw some gorgeous things, but 'thankfully' DD was quite literally dragging me around so the jewellery stayed on the stalls rather than making its way into my jewellery box.

    4. Tried some amazing cheese made at a biodynamic farm and on our way home, stopped off at the farm shop and bought some raw milk (wow, it is so gorgeous, I usually dislike milk but this is very yummy) and some scrumptious vegetables.

    5. DD's little friend is here for their sleepover, and they've been playing and chatting away together so nicely. I wonder if they will actually sleep soon though....they're watching a DVD at the moment

    6. My parents have been very kind, financially, to both me and DD today, taken a weight off my shoulders......

    7. Sitting watching the vicar simple life programme I recorded the other night, listening to the girls monkeying about upstairs and feeling chilled.

Had a great day today. My pleasures are:

    1. Going on the novel-writing course that I mentioned a few weeks ago and it was excellent. Even better because 50% of the fee went to one of my favourite charities, who were hosting the event. It was taxing - we did lots of writing exercises and had to read them aloud...but well worth it.

    2. Coming home after the course, switching on my PC and writing just over 2,000 words on a new short story. I've had a slight dry spell after finishing my last 28,000 word short (or not so short!) story, so hopefully this has cracked it. Looks like this one will be in the region of 8-10,000 words.

    3. The delicious lunch we had on the course - mushroom soup with pitta bread, tofu and vegetable curry and rice, followed by fresh fruit salad. Three courses of yumminess for just £12. My stomach and taste buds were both very happy. And I'm still within my May eating out budget (see my signature).

    4. Having a bowl of homemade spicy lentil soup for tea, with some pears that I'd already poached in wine in the slow cooker, along with homemade soya yoghurt. More happy vibes from my stomach.

    5. Cuddles with Fudge and Willow Foster Cats. Two gorgeous bundles of fluff.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

house elf thestraw football sounds fun...just thinking, could you thread string/cord through some strong adhesive tape (gaffer, carpet tape?) and knot it, press the tape onto the football and do the same the other end and press onto the ceiling? Or if sticky is out of bounds on the ceiling, use a good wodge of blue tack? Provided the football isn't too heavy, of course
Kittikins congrats on the dresses fitting, you're very sensible not to buy a 'comfort' size which I'm afraid I have to admit to, too often :o
Mrs Toast I had to laugh at Crouton, so original :D. Buying leathers is very MS of course, got to have the right gear, haven't you? ;)
Blimus, you really did 70 lengths? Goodness, I can only manage one...straight from top to bottom :rotfl:Congrats on the 2lb, though with all that swimming you deserve to have lost much more
Molly great news re the credit card :), debit cards and cash are definitely safer and a good way of watching what you spend. Well done on your weight loss :D
prophecy_grrl welcome  The twinks sound perfect, the bigger the better in my opinion!
ACEY love your story of thinking you'd managed to hide from your little son...canny boy :D
Caterina your journey sounds exhausting . Pleased you found everyone well though, and very good news re your cousin. What a considerate brother to take care of you the way he did :)
villagelife welcome . How lovely to be able to sit nd watch a game all through. One of lifes real pleasures, that :)
nuttybabe big hugs, sounds like a rotten time. The biggest 'children' are terrible, and to make matters worse you can't send them to their room! Hope all gets better quickly :)
Ladyhawk I didn't think 39 Steps was that gripping...you're just going to have to show that man the way!
wogglemaker pleased you felt better towards evening. When does your course begin? Lol at the male wood pigeon, perhaps send him over to Kiwiboy to give him some tips :D
GirlySquare is it your DD's first inhaler? She'll soon get the hang of it, and find there are others her age with similar so she won't feel awkward abut using it. And of course when she feels better for it she won't mind half as much ;)
Kittikins what did you think of the simple life programme? I wondered how he could afford to run a car. These programmes always sound good in theory but I maintain they should come here and learn how to do it properly ;). Aren't parents lovely? I'm sure they were really pleased they could help :)
savingforoz the course sounds amazing, and so pleased it gave you the inspiration to start again. Tofu and veg curry sounds nice. I've never tried it, I need be more adventurous so will look out for it when I shop next

    My 5

    1. I'd planned to wash the car but the rain did it for me ;)
    2. I'd planned to sweep up the grass cuttings but the wind did it for me ;)
    3. Postie brought me two boxes of washing powder to trial :T
    4. Am watching a shabby chic item, only one bidder atm and it ends at 9am so I could be in with a chance :)
    5. Spent a happy couple of hours with friends, as usual all fun and lots of laughter. I really good way to round of my day :)

    Night night, sleepy tight

Caterina, sounds like you had a great time, and were missed, nice to have you back :)
Nutty, not that it will help, but i think most of us have one of those models, I think there is good reason some were made obsolete :) hope your day improved :)

Welcome all new guys :) keep posting!

its the weekend peeps! I cant do posting at weekends, I am tired! ( I hear you cheer - I do really!)

Quick one... decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, and eat my lunch outside on a blanky, whilst the girls were out, rather than eat, then let them out. was attempting efficiency! (well no, I was wanting a nap, and after a late lunch finish it seemed a good idea!)
So out I go, tortilla and salad lunch, blanky, sunshine, girls around me... and then there was Eddie - the hen who is too clever for her own good...
Im eating my salad, she spots the green stuff - I jest you not, I had to fight for my lunch! She wanted my salad and cous cous, its pretty colours and Im sitting on the ground with it in front of me, which in her book is fair game... I lift it up, forgetting that she has learned jumping on arms as you take the food bucket in means you get first dibs.. seriously I had to fight for my lunch... she was quite disgruntled! So I won... she gave in.... strutted to the edge of the blanket, leading me into a false sense of security. I put my lunch back down on the blanky... she looks at me, turns on her heel, and "scrats" ... chucking the mud / soil / grubs / dirt remains over my lunch....
needless to say she got her way, I didnt like the garnish she provided for it, but she did....
