Evening all, well I am home alone as OH has had to go and look after his neurotic mother  ....anyway, moving on from my anger, my 5 pleaseures today have been - -
1) My presentation at work went really well this morning, and one of my colleagues came and said afterwards that I was really clear and have helped him to see exactly what the upcoming changes mean and he feels much happier about it
2) Free lunch as senior management in and they didn't need all the sandwiches bought for them :j
3) They also didn't eat all the cakes and biscuits so cakes came home for OH and biscuits have gone in the staff room tin!
4) Took pup for a walk on the beach while the sun went down, he had a lovely run around and it made me so greatful that I only live 15mins from the sea.
5) OH came with me to vote - he's never bothered before but this time I changed his mind on it all and got him involved in understanding politics a bit more so I was chuffed he came along.

Not a long one tonight
sorry about my fed up ness! Just sometimes it all gets rubbish and its hard to see wood for trees as you all know!
I have been keeping up with reading and though I would love to reply to all, I need a nice hot bath! Just wanted to mention...
Blimus - thats fab news about your sister
Acey, Molly is right, there are so many great remedies out there that I am sure she will get the rigth treatment and it will be "buisness as usual" before too long
I love reading everyones posts they are great, welcome to all who are new to the thread, keep posting!
My five! (as usual I cant keep posts short!)
1) So there I am in the kitchen, and Gosia comes flying in (usual style) and says "look mom my scales arrived for my new "hoose" and I am a professor!
Turns out, when she ordered them, the "title" box had choices, so being Gosia, she didnt go for "miss" because there were so many to choose from and she chose "professor"! (love her to bits lol! this is so her!)
2) Joost my 2nd chef, and I were having a really good convo, about who we would have to dinner, dead or alive, just as someone you would love to talk to / find out about - you know the sort of convo. We had got hitler (wanting to know what was going through his head) Einstien (for the same reasons) Neil Armstrong and some others I forget now but anyhow, Hilary walks in - (she is mancunian, late 40s, salt of the earth type, absolute gem. ) She asks what we are talking about, and when we ask her the question, who would you have to dinner if you could have anyone, quick as a flash she replies (in her strong accent) "Terry Wogan, I think hes lovely" ... there we are discussing all these famous Iconic people, who made history in some way, and she says Terry Wogan (sorry had to be there moment I guess lol) Made me smile so much.
3) Getting berated by Joost and OH in Co-op, because I make such a fuss that they are not allowed anything in the basket if it doesnt have an orange whoopsie sticker, and I picked up "OK" magazine! They were so taking the mickey out of me, telling me I couldnt have it, they were on a roll and so loud! " I THOUGHT WE WERE NOT ALLOWED ANYTHING THAT ISNT WHOOPSIED" "ITS NOT WHOOPSIED, YOU ALWAYS SAY EVERYTHING HAS TO BE WHOOPSIED" Even the cashier was laughing as were most of the store, and being a redhead, my face colour matched my hair! It was all in fun
4) The girls ofcStill so lovely, and with such personalities! They are so used to being let out, we now have to have a strategy of how to feed them in an afternoon without letting them out on days like today when we had to go vote and were pushed for time. One of us goes out first and walks to the gate, then the other, once number one is positioned, walks out, they run to meet the 2nd person, and the first can get in and do the feeding! I cannot believe we have to plan that way - THEY ARE HENS for goodness sake!!! WE are in charge! (and we have their permission to say so
:D:D) 13 eggs yesterday too!
5) We had another valuer in and should be up for sale weds or thurs next week, not a pleasure but not bad either.
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -

Morning all,
Newlywed - Good luck with the interview
Jexy - Your post has just made me smile so much, hope things start to feel better soon for you.
Mine for yesterday:
1. Starting a new project at work and it is not as daunting as I first thought.
2. Starting to plan a department day out as we didn't have a christmas party and have been in a major transistion. All the guys liked my ideas just need to get it past the boss now.
3. DD's guide hall was closed as polling station so they went to a park by the river tonight instead for the meeting. She had a great time and OH and me went to the pub which was really nice.
4. DD bringing a lampshade home that she made in school and being so excited. OH has to put it up in her room now.
5. Getting out to vote, I'm another one that thinks it's our duty to vote no matter what.
Hugs to all who need them.0 -
Hi and morning everybody, I'm a newbie on this thread. As I've started a household notebook and a menu planner I thought I'd find 5 os pleasures to keep me going. I am a SAHM to a gorgeous 8 month old boy and I am really enjoying myself but I need to be more frugal so here goes for yesterday.
1. Walked 4 miles to the local Children's Centre and then town. I was shattered after it but it'll help with the baby weight and saved money on the bus.
2. When I went to town I only bought what I needed which is mostly a novelty for me.
3. Found 2 presents at the Children's Centre Book Sale for 80p. Bonus as I've got 6 birthdays in the next month including my twin brother and sister.
4. Took a picture of DS kneeling over his toy box pulling things out with a huge grin on his face. Thank god for the camera phone lol
5. Made chicken liver and veg puree for DS out of stuff I already had and he scoffed it up . DH and I were amazed and very glad as I've got loads in the freezer now.
Here are todays 5 os pleasures so that I have to do them now and not sit and watch the news all day.
1. Walk to the local library for free books :j
2. Make fish puree for DS's lunch and hopefully have the same success as the chicken liver.
3. Watch children's tv this afternoon with DS. I was quite impressed yesterday with Shaun the Sheep and a craft programme.
4. Asparagus and pea risotto or beef casserole for tea. Depends if I'm organised this morning.
5. Hopefully win a necklace on ebay for 99p for MIL's birthday :jTOTAL DEBT £12,212.46/£2000 paid offDebt Free Goal September 2017#106 Emergency Fund £482.53/£10000 -
Welcome, Mrs Toast! Great user name!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Going to vote - women were forcefed and chained themselves to railings to get me the right to do it, so it's not something I take lightly.
2. Yummy spicy burger for tea.
3. Short day at work - left early. Always good. Also, the computers went down which stopped everybody in their tracks.
4. Unexpected phone call from a good friend in the evening.
5. Cuddles with Fudge Foster Cat.
Have a good day, everyone.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Well, so much for staying up all night watching the election, I got to midnight and fell asleep! :rotfl:
Here are my pleasures for yesterday:
- A visit from my parents, which is always lovely. I am so proud of myself, as they offered to buy me chips for dinner and I said no!
- Making bread in my breadmaker, filling my house with lovely bread smells.
- Going to vote.
- DH coming home from work early, eventhough he was working in London again.
- Getting freebies and Pampers vouchers in the post.

Howdy ho everyone!Winchelsea wrote: »1. Met up for coffee this morning with a relative I hadn't seen before - result of family history research. and nice result! LAdyhawk your voting story made me chuckle! Good that you got to vote again! Well done Newlywed on the interview!Lillian1977 how did the brownies turn out? I've been thinking of making some of those ones  Niksyg is that your pup in your pic? He's a lovely little man! Jexy brill to hear a hen update - cheers. Quirkly little critters they are - sometimes they can be rather clever and sometimes they purposefully run in front of you to play an odd game of backwards chase. This used to happen when I was running near but away from them... they seemed to think it safer to get in my path and then pretend to be chased! Cluck. Hi to Mrs Toast!
1. Just painted my nails a lovely dark pink colour (free bottle in a try-me set from Boots yonks ago which I do think has had it's last day!) ready for tonight. Love doing little things during the day like this so I have one less thing to think of while getting ready!
2. OH cooked great nosh last night - spinach creamy stuff with burgers and sauted taters. He used to chef so he picked up some handy skills I can now enjoy!
3. It's Friday! Woooooo!
4. Had a chilled drive in - sometimes do some stressed behaviour when I drive for some reason. This morning I was relatively relaxed and found a parking spot right outside the office. Jammy!
5. Was very pleased Labour didn't wint the GE - Brown in particular needs to leave Britain alone for a while! Made myself laugh earlier when considering the fact that I would rather Richard Branson was PM than any of the others!
6. Going to meet a wee kitty kat tonight as OHs sister is down and has brought her cats along for the ride. I get more excited about meeting new animal babies than human ones - I've got three new mini humans to meet now and the total is ever expanding due to my friends getting hitched and popping! It's lovely really, I just feel animals are easier to relate to!
7. It was a really nice sunny day yesterday afternoon. Got to stare up through some sun-laced green leaves while stopped by the level crossing. Was really pretty and I was glad I got the chance to look at the beautiful view through my sunroof
8. DF dug over the veg plot so I shall be having a lookie and sticking some bits in the ground. DM also got in the gardening vibe too by buying a wee plastic green house so I can transfer my little lettuce seedlings into bigger pots. I have to be very careful though as I've not done it before and they are ever so tiny!
9. My garlic sprouts I plugged in with the lettuces seem to have been busy! I wasn't sure I'd get anything from them as they were just old bulbs I found in the veg box
10. It's nearly two so that means... two hours to go and it's the weekendWee!
Have a lovely afternoon all :beer:0 -
1. seeing my lovely garden with its forget-me-nots and hedges
2.cuddling the cat
3 blackbird singing "rain"
4 log fire lit as its chilly
5 pan of soup cooking for dinner later"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
Ya'll must get fed up with me posting long posts then adding to them!
I would have put this in with my other post, but I'm so excitedWhat a dweeb! I just claimed my first £10 voucher for survey doing! Wee! Decided to go for a Tesco voucher as I can get more for my money there. Thanks to MSE for making me aware of this!
