    Today:

    1) Spent an hour tidying in the garden. Cold and blustery but felt good to be out.
    2) Saw a beautiful male pheasant walking past my lounge window.
    3) Late afternoon decided to curl up in front of the fire and watch Mamma Mia again. As on my own decided to watch the sing along version. The cat voted with its feet though when I started to sing along so I had to stop as I wanted her company. :o
    4) Mr Muppet has just arrived home with a couple of bars of chocolate for later.
    5) Going to watch Holby City and enjoy my bar. Why I am watching a hospital programme at the moment I am not sure but I do like Holby City.
Thank you for this site :jNow OH and I are both retired, MSE is a Godsend

    Good evening everyone.

Bitsy You are quite right about the smiley site that we all use with gay abandon cheerleader3.gif Diva must be getting fed up of it now :rotfl:

Ollie Linky if you need it :D

    My five for today are:

    1. MIL is going into her lovely residential home tomorrow. She's very excited & SIL & I are spending the day getting her room sorted with fresh bedding etc. DH & DNephew took the furniture that she's taking up today so the room will have a look of home for her. We're also taking her 2 recliner chairs so she can have one in the bedroom & one in the lounge. Apparently it's very bad form, and creates lots of muttering, if you sit in someone else favoured chair jumping0044.gif

    2. A friend request on Facebook from someone I'd love to chat more to.

    3. My Mum & Dad came down this morning so Dad could have his hair clippered by me and between us we finished the crossword. Very enjoyable.

    4. Lovely autumn morning with lots of sun despite raining all afternoon.

    5. Looking forward to a hot bubble bath soon & an evening cross stitching & watching tv.

I hope that everyone is ok and big HSarmhugs_9780.giffor anyone who needs them xxx

Hope your MIl settles in well.
Hoping you get through the next week Muppet. xxx

    My five for today...

    1. Lazy morning but still managed to achieve some office work and housework.
    2. Clearing out the hanging baskets and feeding the contents to the hens.
    3. HM banana and pecan muffin with good coffee after lunch.
    4. OH coming home early and cleaning out the fire for me.
    5. Being told by the teacher at parents' evening that our girls are an absolute credit to us. :D (hope she wasn't talking to the woman behind me. :rotfl:)

    Evening all!

Muppet - am lovin' the cat walking out on your performance. It clearly had no taste ;)

    Mine for today are:

H has had a migraine all day and felt sick so he fancied some chicken fingers and lucky us there is an extra one in the box :D

Had a free day's paid holiday as my minded child was dropped off and picked up by her dad today.

Picked up a family calendar (one of those with a column for each member and their appointments) from Card Factory and it was 99p!!! I believe the one we are currently using cost circa £8!!!!!

Had a quick but pleasant run round park with DS and DD this morning (it was just too cold in the wind and shade but they had a little bit of fun on the swings etc).

My leek and potato soup that I cooked in SC yesterday. It is fab :D

Just had a "conversation" by text with a good friend who's decided to separate from her husband. Whilst that in itself isn't good news it was nice to know she's not hiding away completely.

    That's about all I think.

  • Not very exciting as ive been working hard hard hard this week -

    1. Written an extra report at work so overtime payment for wedding fund
    2. HM Thai Butternut squash soup for lunch
    3. Singing loudly to Blondie in the car on way to work
    4. Glass of home brew cider
    5. Spoke to my Mam and she is letting me help and bake for the mammoth task that is Xmas day tea (normally wouldnt let me interfere)

Got loads of food/tobacco / Rizlas/ in so hopefully no trips to Mr T's/cash machine before the weekend at the very least!

    My five for Tuesday:

    1. Well it was windy and sunny again and we escaped the rain so got another couple of loads of washing done and dried. :j

    2. Arrival of this week's veggiebox and a big bag of clementines which are fabulous.

    3. Stopping off at our regular garden centre to get a gift voucher as a prezzie. (I've only just found out that gardening gift tokens exist.) We searched for this year's new Xmas tree decoration (our tree gets a new something added each Christmas) and we all giggled so much at some of extraordinary stuff on sale. After a very long hunt we found something small and 'ordinary'!

    4. Watching the Enid Blyton play on iplayer.

    5. Hearing from my dad that my mum has spent lots of time over the last two days wrapped in the fleece blanket I gave her.

    Enjoy your evenings everyone.

    Hello

I hope you have all had good days! Today I have:

    1. Enjoyed dinner with DD
    2. Cleaned the kitchen
    3. Just about to bake brownies (yum!)
    4. Going to run a nice hot bubbly bath
    5. Watching some wonderfully bad TV

Just realised I write pretty much the same things everyday! Now does that mean that I have lots of little pleasures each day or that I need a change of routine???

  • 1) Found a home-made frozen meal in the bottom of the freezer yesterday, so that was today's lunch at work.
    2) Chocolate trifle for pud this evening. I had some stale cake so this was a good way of using up. Has anyone got any other ideas for my cake? I'd like a truffle recipe, if possible.
    3) A huge box of chocolates someone brought in to work, which went down very quickly.
    4) Sci-fi and Fantasy Book Club last night. It's always interesting to see this set of people and they've kindly voted to read my suggested book this time. The last one was full of incredibly dated attitudes towards women so we have a strong female lead in this book, even if she is an elf.
    5) Doing a swap with a friend at work - my marmalade for her chutney.

    Hi All

Not had a good day today, there are so many bugs going around that most of the kids friends are ill, ds1 keeps saying he doesnt want to sleep in his bed (only had it a few months and it costs a fortune so I didnt want to get it to start with) and dd today said she wants to live with her teacher and she hates me, later found out it was because I dont cook food she likes, but still quite upsetting. I also think she might be coming down with something.

    anyway mine for today:

1 Got up to a clean and tidy living room and kitchen

2 As I had no extra cleaning to do in morning it meant I had time to leave my kitchen clean with sink shined!!! So nice to come home to that!

3 Left for school early after all kids ate their breakfast without having to be reminded to eat!!!

4 Chatting to my mate up the school about how happy she is that her family are visiting her this week, every time she talks about them she nearly cries as she is so happy, which really makes me feel so so so happy for her

5 A lovely tea using last nights chicken leftovers (just a shame dd wouldnt even try it!!)

I am hoping for a good day tomorrow and that dd isnt going to get one of the bugs all her friends have (one of which being swine flu) and that she loves me again!!
