Morning
Mine for Sunday/Monday
Sunday
1. Cup of tea in bed made by DD
2. Taking DD to Grand Designs Live (she loves this type of thing) and the tickets were free:money:
3. Using the family railcard for train tickets so not too expensive. I love my family railcard, it saves me a fortune every year:money:
4. Lots of free food and drink samples so didn't have to buy drinks or food at show
5. Only spend was some munchy seeds which are difficult to get in sachets and both DD and OH love them
6. Quick visit to little Mr.T on way home so picked up some YS bargains.
7. Quick dinner of Chicken and Pasta resisted temptation on takeaway
Monday
1. Lovely lie in and cuddles with DD and OH.
2. Tea in bed, made by DD
3. Sausage sandwiches for brunch
4. Went to Mr.T for weekly shop and came in on budget which was a suprise as haven't done a large shop for weeks so needed to stock up on store cupboard basics. Plus bought a really nice Sirloin joint for £4 which should have been £16. Now in freezer for a special dinner
5. Homemade fish and chips for dinner. Much nicer and cheaper than the takeaway ones. For 3 of us only cost about £3.5 all in plus enough fish left for tomorrow.
Hugs to all who need them. Must start getting ready for work now.0 -
:hello: Welcome!! That all sounds rather blissful! Looking forward to hearing more OS pleasures from the country!!
Thanks! It's not completely the country but we're at the foot of the Peak District so have hills all around, a brook behind our house (with a local heron!) and despite being on a fairly main road it's still so much quieter than where we used to live. Lots of local independent shops as well which is lovely (although there is a still a Tesco for great whoopsies and BOGOFS)
Just had a boiled egg for breakfast from OH's friend's farm, so that's number 1 of my OS pleasures today!
Others will include:
2) Go to the cinema for free (Hot Tub Time Machine preview)
3) Take some HM bread to have with lunch
4) Whoopsied Moroccan couscous from Mr T for lunch too
5) Reserve some more books at the library
See you all tomorrow! xMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Aaah Sparrer, so pleased you like my local news
I remember a little while back, someone mentioned the area in Norfolk that my grandparents moved to where I had lots of lovely holidays, and without this thread I'd not have had cause to think of the beach and paddling no matter what the weather....I'll keep 'em coming
I write down lots of local events in my diary as options for us to visit each weekend, and thank my lucky stars that I'm not with the exOH any more as he was such an energy sapper, we'd do nothing if it was the 3 of us rather than the 2 of us! I have a lot of places around the world I want to revisit with DD, and really explore as she is so positive, enthusiastic and energetic and even a rainy day is fun with her
(I say all this as she's sat on the other sofa glued to kid's tv, and resisting all attempts to prise her rump off it and get brekkie, lol)
Have a great day everyone, the sunshine is back here, yippee!!!0 -
Hello! Bees and New Bees!
Hope you are all swell! Been a while since my last list of pleasures due to forum errors, and so without further ado, here are my pleasures for today!
1. driving to work this morning was very pretty with the sunshine and green fields and wee birdies flying about. Said hi to a pheasant too.
2. Cleaned my car interior over the weekend and it was really nice to get in it this morning!
3. Spent the bank holiday at my place with DF and OH continuing the barn building. Tis nearly done.
4. Fixed OHs jeans - rips and holes - and he thought I was clever :rotfl:
5. Went to a salon with DM and I had a facial (using the voucher she'd got me for Xmas) and found a few charity shop bargains (nice new red sweater and a cool jacket that I'll dye a funky colour). We also had St@rb@cks for lunch (naughty and yummy).
6. Got many compliments for lunches I cooked for the workers over the weekend. lovely.
7. Went out for dinner Sat eve with OH, DM and DF. Steak and Ale pie, anyone? Mmm.
8. Hearing the birdies singing (cuckoos, blackbirds, thrushes, wrens, robins...) in our garden.
9. OH explained how big my lovely new bedroom will be :T and how he intends to move in there with me!
10. Finally being able to get back on here and post with all you lovely people. Been absolutely poo not being able to! So viva la Pleasures!
Thanks for reading, have a lovely sunny day!! :snow_grin0 -

Todays are:
1/. Getting up early enough to exfoliate, mositurise AND have breakfast before the school run
2/. Having a break from the school run this afternoon as older kids are all on play dates (planned that well eh) and DH is picking them all up on his way home from work
3/. My sister is coming over for tea tonight
4/. The babies have both gone down for their naps at the same time, so I have an hour or so to do my own thing (ok, jobs but still it makes life easier)
5/. The girls are coming over tonight for wine, nibbles and a good old chin wag once LO's are in bed
Wow, that's five already and it's only 11 o'clock!

Still catching up from the weekend, but welcome to all the new people .
Here are my OS pleasures for the last 2 days:
Sunday
- DH cooking an "alternative" sunday lunch. Rather than have a usual roast beef dinner we sometimes choose a theme, like American deep south or Italian and do a 3 course meal in that theme, the only "rule" is that it must contain all new recipes that we haven't cooked before. This weeks theme was indoor BBQ (It would have been outdoor had the weather been better!) It was lovely.
- Finishing my book, Alexander McCall Smith's - The Sunday Philosophy Club, I enjoyed it very much.
- DD's bath. She loves the bath it was a joy to watch her splashing about and giggling.
- Glass of wine in the evening, a rare treat.
- Putting my feet up nearly all day.
Monday
- Day trip to Clevedon. We took the dog for a long walk along the seafront and she loved climbing over the rocks. On the whole it was a lovely day, but we did get caught in a hail storm on our way back and had to run for shelter!
- We had a drive through Portishead on the way back and we have decided to go there on our next day trip.
- Popped into Tesco to get something quick and easy for tea. I bought a £9 meal deal and managed to save over £10 on full price :money:
- Started a new book that has been sat on my shelf for years unread, as it didn't "grab" me. I am really enjoying it, I wish I had read it long ago now!
- Another glass of wine in the evening!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Good afternoon all,
I was MIA this weekend due to a very busy bank holiday and haven’t posted yet so below are my OS pleasures for the weekend:
-3 lots of washing
-Made canap!s for DMs birthday- thanks to very helpful Old-stylers- which went down incredibly well
-Didn’t spend any money on any non-essentials (i.e alcohol, coffees etc) this weekend (a rarity for a bank holiday!)
-Started a spending diary- stapling receipts to a notebook- very eye opening:eek:!!
- Had what will hopefully be my last ever cigarette yesterday evening, fingers crossed but so far don’t feel too cantankerous and am not really craving
Hope everyone is well and had a great bank holiday[STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]
