Evening all! My 5 for today:
1. Yummy lunch with a friend at Wetherspoons.
2. Cinema afterwards with the same friend. We saw "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". It was very good although definitely not for anyone with a squeamish disposition!
3. Doing a Reverbe in the cinema and bagging 20p from the floor.
4. Getting some good whoopsies in Sainsburys, including a 20p bag of stirfry, which I've just had for a very yummy tea. There's enough left for tomorrow as well. Also got a pack of grapes for 30p and melon slices for 20p.
5. Having enough points on my Boots Advantage card to get some skin toner free.
6. My friend giving me helpful advice over lunch about buying a netbook and what to look for.
7. Unleashing my inner domestic goddess and making a batch of herby rolls and some yoghurt.
8. Actually making it to the gym - I'm not so good at this at the weekends.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Evening everyone
CCP - ah right i see. that does sound interesting. i would love to have the time to do stuff like that. maybe when the kids are older!!
Mine for today
1 A lie in. :j
2 My rocket is growing really well on the windowsill.
3 Having a proper talk with dh about the credit cards. i think the penny has finally dropped! Feel a bit happier about dh not spending on them anymore!!!
4 Roast chicken for tea. All the kids ate in double quick time even dd who ate all 3 carrots  and all her broccoli. I even got asked if there were any more roasties!! Luckily i made too much yorkshire pudding mix so we had 1 huge one and 4 medium ones so that kept them all quiet!!
5 ds1 has decided he will be feeding little rabbit foo foo from now on. so one less job for me!! :rotfl:
Have a good evening all.0 -
Evening all,
Hope you are not too damp with all this rain!
I've had a nice day - went into London to meet my 3 DB's and 2 SIL's for my oldest DB's belated birthday lunch. We went ten pin bowling which was fun - and I didn't embarress myself too much. My poor middle brother came last... though that was because he has arthritis in his right wrist so was having to bowl left handed... not very successfully! Poor guy - he is only 35 and really struggling.
1) Getting up early to make banana muffins and scones for my oldest brother - both turned out really nicely.
2) Finishing my book from the library - I had read it before but had forgotten the story.
3) Spending the afternoon with the siblings - we're not a close family so it is nice when we are all together.
4) Really yummy lunch after bowling - not very MSE!
5) No work tomorrow!! YEEEHA!!
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
1. Can't remember if I posted this the other day, but I dyed my hair using the cheapest Wilk0's dye rather than my usual Dav!na advertised one, saving nearly £5 in the process, and it is brilliant, a much better shade for me and it covered all the grey just like the posh stuff.
2. DD and I had nice cuddles and lots and lots of silly songs this afternoon
3. I have now worked out how to put songs on my ip0dand have also put DD's favourite bubble wrap popping game on it. She's so funny, she knows how to use the machine far better than I.....and she's just 5. I feel like a dinosaur!
4. We popped to our local big Mr T's and bought a docking station/DAB/FM radio thingy - I had a £4 off £30 spend, and used some Klubcard vouchers so it was free. Yippee!!
5. Hmmm, can't think of a 5th one, but I'm feeling fine, just wish the rain would go away! Maybe tomorrow....but if not, we will go for a swim and maybe bowling.0 -
1. PP is back with us!
2.DH lighting the living room fire them looking round and saying "it looks just like one of those pictures in a house magazine in here".
3. Excellent dinner with the family
4.Having a lazy read-the paper Sunday
5. The cherry trees are in bloom"The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0 -
Hi,
Busy Sunday! I have been up since 5am making use of the Economy 7 to do the piles of washing that I haven't done this week cos of the dreaded OFSTED visit! However, the novelty of using my HM 'Gloop' laundry liquid has not worn off yet, so that seemed to make it better!:rotfl:
Lots of pleasures today.
1. Gloop
2. International Dance Festival in B'ham this week. DS2 has done a hip hop class today, and we watched a fantastic outside dance performance this evening. It's times like this I love living in a big city.
3. DH has spent most of the day building DD's new wardrobes. It will be nice not to have the flatpacks taking up space in the hallway.
4. One of our M&S chickens for tea. Mmmmmm. We even have leftovers.
5. We were a bit cold after the dance performance so stopped off at McDonalds for hot chocolate for the grownups and icecream sundaes for the children. Used my McDonalds monopoly stickers, so got them all for free!
6. DS2 cleaned the hamster cage. Probably the one and only time he will willingly help, but making the most of it while it lasts;)
Hope the weather brightns up tomorrow. Planning to visit National Trust property. Have a lovely Bank hol. HE x0 -
5 for today:
1) Went swimming this morning with my sister.
2) Went on the annual "Pound the Bounds" walk. It is the second largest parish in England so we just did the Treasure Hunt bit and a diversion so covered about 4 miles. Boys were quite good, not too much complaining until the very end!
3) Had a quick tidy up this afternoon and did the bathroom.
4) School friend came for tea.
5) Tea was good. Made salmon cakes (mashed potato and tinned salmon) and had them with carrots and leeks.
6) Going to go to bed in a mo and listen to the Archers on iplayer. Went to bed yesterday at about midnight and got woken up by thunder - at 00.58! Very hard to get back to sleep afterwards.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and enjoys the bank holidays.

Hi all,
Here are mine from today:
1) Spent the day (and yesterday) with my lovely mum.
2) Saw my sister too. It was nice to have a family get together (only my lot, my mum and Dsis and Dbil) before Dsis has further checks at the hospital on tuesday.
3) A NSD
4) A yummy roast dinner that I didn't cook.
5) Looking forward to getting into bed with a new library book.
Hope everyone has a great bank holiday Monday.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

It's been a long, wet and tedious day but let's see if I can find five...
1. Mixed a cheap packet of bran flakes and a packet of fruit'n'fibre together, it still has plenty of fruit, coconut, nuts etc per serving and saved about £1 overall.
2. A cheeky one because I posted it elsewhere (as one of you will know), I discovered this morning that the spaghetti server, which I've had for years and never use, makes a brilliant back scratcher! So not a wasted purchase after all and confirms that I really don't need a man - well not a live-in one, anyway
3. During my last big shop in Mr A I bought a ginormous bag of pasta twists, I think it was about £3. I cooked a big bowlful today, used a little for lunch and let the rest cool before freezing. I always cook pasta in the mw in a polythene bowl with a kettle of boiling water as it only takes about 3 minutes, and it always separates beautifully after freezing
4. Read through all the boards especially the holiday vouchers/freebies/nearly freebie ones, and entered several competitions. I must make an effort to do this more, someone has to be lucky so why not? We'll see
5. After all that money saving, which I hadn't even realised I'd done, I watched Mermaids with Bob Hoskins, Cher and Winona Ryder, three of my fav actors.
Strange how on a boring day I can think of 5 straight away, on a productive day I have to rack my brain to think of them
Night night, sleep tight

Good morning!
Mine for yesterday -
1) Went to the Hampshire Country Fair which was wet and soggy but a great day out.
2) Entered Bodie into the best puppy class in the fun dog show - AND HE WON!!!!! (very proud mum)
3) Our friends met us there, nice to catch up with them.
4) Had a chat with some expert gundog trainer people who really liked Bodie and siad he was very well behaved for such a young pup, and what a credit to us he was.
5) Out for dinner (not very OS) but to a pub we'd not been to before and took Bodie with us who just lay down and snored all through our meal!
