  • 5 Mila minds BoP of working away and saying to the marsupial that we had LobStir for lunch on some days. Poor thing got excited, but our LobStir was just the hit dog sausages, tin of toms, haricot beans LOBbed into a pan and STIRred! Got to say, he was not impressed!

4 Had finger kebabs last night with Wobbleades. At last the kiwi boat got beaten. Then watched a film hidden on the river plate web, called The Lightkeepers! But of a jolly and far better than watching c list none entities trying to prance in a dance hall!

3 Undercoated the downstairs crapper and it looks good. The John will be reinstalled soon, at the moment it's the hedge or upstairs!

2 Day I has no idea what is fir tea. There is brewed curry from Fryday, or fish or could be a Snorker fest! Apple pie is being made as the butter finished on 23rd. 23rd May!

It is important to get out there ...

Today's first pleasure - just checked my Euromillions ticket (bought on a whim...) and made a grand winning profit of.....wait for it.....20p!!! :) It's going in the future dreams pot anyway, every little helps and all that ;):)
  • Saturday pleasures

    1. snorkers for breakfast
    2. pulled out all the furniture in the kitchen and cleaned, hoovered & scrubbed / bleached floors. Now all signs of mice gone, made sure all poison removed and packed away. Not sure what will happen if we get mice again as we won't be able to put poison down if we have 4-legged friend by then.
    3. naughty KFC for dinner haven't had one for months :p
    4. someone is interested in item I put on gum tree - hopefully they will take it as space needed
    5. watched hoarding programme, which is not a pleasure - some of these americans are extreme ! However the pleasure is knowing I am not that bad and the house is steadily emptying of clutter and I am inspired to get rid of more

Quick everyone, Skints got the snorkers on and KKs going to get the liquid refreshments, Happy days all

And I's just done the patchwork quilt steal mince pie for dinner. Patchwork as the hand rubbed pastry was a bit ruff. More later as it will taste superb!

Joked at lunchtime that I'd been busy retro-writing the syndicate agreement so that everyone in the family could share my wealth, and planning what to do with my considerable winnings!! :)

    1. In laws gave me a heap more fresh fruit and veg they had in the house, just before I dropped them at the airport. I do sometimes wonder if they haven't yet realised they're no longer feeding 2 hungry teenagers and all their friends. The food waste is frightening. In any case, this morning I transformed 2 basil plants into homemade pesto, and a bunch of rhubarb filled 6 or so jars with compote (made in breadmaker...easy peasy). I also chopped all the overripe fruit and froze it in portions for smoothies. Yay for prepping!
    2. Cleaned the oven, and it looks GLORIOUS
    3. Last couple of chapters of my current book to go, I'll enjoy them with a cuppa and some value ginger biscuits, which happen to be vegan.
    4. Tomorrow we're applying for remortgage. We should be able to get a rate of 1.8% fixed for 5 years. This will save is over £220 per month!
    5. Put a washing line up in the garden today. The fancy pants retractable one broke so I returned it and got a £1.40 line from wilkos. Lovely to have clothes swinging in the breeze.
    6. OH cycled 6 miles to his parents house to water their garden and feed their cat, so I didn't have to use diesel.
    7. OH then painted our fence. We're nearly there now. I think in one sunny day, the both of us can finish it off.

That's a hefty amount to save monthly! Will you put it toward your principal?

I must report that last night DH took two bites of fish and threw it in the trash! Awful man! I would have eaten it.

So that's what it looks like up there. The Lady was closed after Hurricane Sandy when we were there. Next time....
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

The first part to the plinth us easy, then spiral staircase to the neck. Then it gets narrow and sways a bit.then it gets very tight. And you've made it. Take time to rest, as the platform moves about. Well worth it, but book well in advance!

I'm feeling queasy at the thought young BoP and I don't think my stair-induced panic attacks would go down well, lol....wish I could do things like that still!

Ok, apart from celebrating the joyous event of my 20p lottery win, what else have I been up to today?

    1. NSD - in fact you could say I saved £5 as DD decided to not help with the decluttering of the pig sty I affectionately call I bedroom....but...

    2. as she made the most amazing choc chip cookies and zebra cake (marble cake to others), I can let her off!

    3. Sunshine!

    4. Only had a little bit of correcting/updating to do on my reports after they'd had their HT comments added, phew!

    5. Have arranged for daddykins to take DD to school tomorrow so I can go for an early morning dip in the pool. Yay!!!
