    mila - this is Spits:
Old Spitalfields Antique & Vintage Flea Market

    @OldSpitalfieldsVintageFleaMarket

Now, better than fish, offer this to OH...please:

    1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYKSMK7o4M8
Oh wow, what a kapo! What a haka! Watching again, with only &'s ears to hear and no distractions. Yes, yes, yes! Special pressie for you, mrs lw:http://www.nzherald.co.nz/build-your-ultimate-kiwi-rugby-player-interactive/
    -and 'entirely typical' time here:
    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2017/jun/25/rieko-ioane-new-zealand-lions-fan-room

    2. Four car booties stitched up ce jour, 'cos Armed Forces Day service was late arvo. Meant no a.m. rushing back. Burwash Manor was interesting, Lainey, &'s 1st time. Sumbarguns? - many)))

    3. Long supper and chat with enzed friends not long finished in garden room. & had left ''interesting'' mix mijoting o/n. Jacket taties in when & was. All was delicious by Hurrchrrs time [ and hasn't irritating Tom cocked up big time with Justin?]. Emporium premium minced piggy rtc, Puy lentils, 2 weary pommes fine-chopped, 2 onions+4 carrots ditto, bay leaf, golden marjoram, thyme, red sorrel[usual allsorts gather up while wandering down back], dash of Worcester, other can't-remember-precisely use-ups....came out divinely. Big casserole dish, all gone, with just enough left to make next Spits munch for &, now in freezer.

    3. Some more pruning. Various & trees and bushes have just gone mad in last few weeks. There comes a point when public space skirting round and ducking v.low to head down/around back is become eye-gouging obstacle course. Ceanothus and walnut took the big hits. Luckily, enzed J said 'Not that branch! Look!' and walnut i-spy began. 5 spotted so far. &'s first crop! from a sprouted French noix, back from another aeon of &life. So exciting! But upright headway can now mostly be made between squat and garden room.

    4. 6-1, bop....enzed friends are also followers+keen sailors. Can we finish job tomorrow? Light airs forecast)))))

    5. Will try for the 6th time shortly to book Bastille Day ditch leap. Usual connectivity cauchemars. Can't be long away, much to do. 12>18 juillet will suffice for now and will see 'family', sans maman pour la première fois....

The Eiffel Tower was high enough to last me a lifetime, BoP, but I bet the view was good from there!

    Pleasures for today:

    1) I am now 42. Woken with a cup of tea made by bigger son and a card from smaller son with "Old Git" on it!

    2) Hens well and picked lots of raspberries plus salad on the allotment.

    3) By chance, village had organised a party in the village hall! So 8 of us swelled the numbers and it did for an extended birthday party. I took raspberry Eton Mess. There was a bouncy castle, bowling and a table tennis table so we stayed all afternoon.

    4) Brother of Frith got inspired by looking at my plaster removing works so is going to help me put insulating layer (where enough space) or insulated plaster board up.

    5) Bigger son is at a party until tomorrow and smaller son has been playing football online with his school friends.

    Happy birthday for tomorrow, CCP!

Agree re: le Tour Eiffel, too. Have barely travelled in America, nowhere near NY and The Lady.

    Morning All,

Thanks for the photos BoP. Reminded me of last years hols. Wasn't brave enough to go up Statue of Liberty, but love the High Line. You would like our hotel. The Jane was an old Seamans Mission and all the rooms are tiny and have bunks! OH was not impressed as he had to have the top bunk!

& Thanks for explaining Spits. One of my fav places to wander around in London. I do love a rummage!

    Weekend......

    Saturday
    1. Bacon and cheese quoissants for breakfast.
    2. Trip to town. Free tea and cake in JL.
    3. Coffee in hipster cafe which roasts its own coffee.
    4. Special offer microwave curry meals from MrT. Fed 5 for £12.50 instead of takeaway.
    5. Half price tickets to Odeon to see Wonderwoman. OH enjoyed it more than me.

    Sunday.
    1. Snorker butties for breakfast.
    2. Watching DH2 Wakeboarding.
    3. Waities for offers and reduced stuff.
    4. Bit more of the garden beaten into shape.
    5. Invited to dinner at friends house. Nice catchup. Played crazy card game. Much hilarity!!!

Training day today, as Eid and we would not have many students, so will be chasing my colleagues for documents way past their deadlines! How to make yourself popular :(

Mila whilst you wonder what a knickerbocker glory is I'm wondering what a green chile cheeseburger soup is?

Well it's Monday evening here...thought the oven would be ready and I hadn't switched it on right so shall type this whilst I wait for it to heat.

Having steak pie for tea , with roast potatoes ( at sons request) , sprouts ( at mine) carrots and peas. Meat was as usual RTC and slow cooked.

It's been a cold day , yesterday was also a cold day but a dry and blustery wind made for 3 loads of washing dried. Today's was still rather damp but has been ironed and will dry on airer overnight.

Nice to be home after my mini break-ette. DD2 looked stunning. I enjoyed my very early morning swim and enjoyed breakfast.

    Lovely welcome from my doggy.

Nice chat with friend from home and then my sister.

Had to take DD2 to work at silly o'clock yesterday morning. Then had to pick her up...my husband did it with a lot more grace than I do! However had filled car with petrol the night before , it's cheaper than its been for a while. Our trains were off this weekend and replacement buses were on...they take blooming ages!

Had made a lasagne which we had with salad as a late lunch. Had meat in slow cooker for tonight's pie.

Today I had work wh h I enjoyed and was paid so hurrah for that!

Had a text from Canadian friend who I was supposed to meet tomorrow , could I do lunch ( yes) and could we walk round local businesses to ask for donations for school fundraiser ( yes) , had a good catch up and she paid for lunch ( which mine was only toast and peanut butter) and then we marched up and down our small town chatting and laughing which was nice. Local businesses were all very promising! I do like our little town.

We had been in bakers shop that DD2 had previously worked in, the owner could be rather unkind to her mostly young staff. We had been in asking her for donation which she'd agreed to and then about an hour later as we were finishing up met her on the street and she said oh you're DD2 mum aren't you? Yes. How are you? How are things? Chit chat and then I had said it's almost 4 months since OH died and then she said oh, well times a great healer isn't it? Yes, everything is fine now! I wish people would think before they open their mouths!
I have moved my blog on to Facebook if anyone wants to read just PM me and will let you know about it.

    Have a lovely Monday :)

Lovely pics BOP I don't do heights as have insane desire to jump off and see what would happen!! perhaps in previous life Lainey was a bird :)
Many happy returns for yesterday Frith.
Have not been to Burwash Manor for many a year & thank you for reminder.

    Some pleasures for the weekend,

Lots of bee activity in garden, we have a Red-tailed nest in our lawn, carder bees on the hedge flowers and many garden ones loving the two big honeysuckles, good to see.

Watched and enjoyed the royal race meet, good to see horsey town stables hold up their end, the strings go right through the town on way up to gallops so we could see such winners and not know.

Late trip into said town on sat was rewarded with many YS bargains from Mr Sparks including taste test winning pizza.

very clever acquaintance of mine who works with metal was at local Anglo Saxon village do, gratifying to see many youngsters showing interest in his brand of alchemy. He made me a cauldron on stand using two of darling Bill's shoes, prized possession.

Caught up with latest episode of The Loch, good stuff!
  • Elf. Snorkers. Good for you!

5 What a pie that is that BoP hand rubbed yesterday. Full of goodness and was only missing the beans of haricot! Cannot believe the pan gravy, new tatties and a whole cauliflower was wolfed down with the said! Strawberries and vienetta was also taken. Good proper foods!

4 Again watched the kiwi in their boat. No one going to up-end them at all! Well is it lucky that when their canoe was upended, the racing the next day was called off. Guess we will be all going to Auckland in 2021 then. I suppose & is happy! Just hope the big cat roars this weekend!

3 Back at the mill! Another week and another month off to the pension, unless robber brown gets in again! Bails of cotton were strewn over the weekend and it appears that we had a good IT notwork last week, but the softies have been playing! If it works, they can downgrade it without bother!

2 Nite will be second helping of the pie, but with peas from the garden as BoP was a tad too greedy with the cauliflower yesterday. Now it is nearly bout time for BoP to do Cauliflower cheese! You think you cannot do that with broad beans! As we are talking proper food again, just checked on next year’s Rhubarb! It looks good. Oh, and on food, Raffles had a bloodbath of Saturday. Five confirmed kills!

Oh, and after being inn w8rs yesterday, I managed to remove from the shelf, some stem ginger shortbreads. They did not travel very well, so please be careful if you eat them!

Crumbs, that’s all that is left!

Hello all - I am back from Glastonbury and it was faaaabuuuullllouus!!

Glastonbury-heavy pleasures of the last few days

    1. No mud!! :j A little rain friday and saturday but it made no difference to the parched ground. Goodness but it's easier with no mud.
    2. The sun went - never thought that would be a pleasure but carting our stuff in with 30+ degree heat was no fun. the closest I have come to fainting for many years... But i didn't
    3. So many brilliant acts - but the pinnacle for me was The Killers. You know that thing about "sing like no one can hear you and dance like no-one is watching"? Yeah, that :j:T
    4. As always the wonderful food - it's a food festival as much as a music festival. I tend to go veggie, mainly cos i am a bit unoriginal in my own veggie cooking so i have chance to experience different stuff. It's the same price throughout pretty much, so it's definitely taste driven
    5. Up early this morning and home by 11 - definitely a pleasure as the carparks are currently in chaos. A lovely bath when I got in.

    and a pleasure for today..

    1. DD got a 2:1 :T so proud of her.

    And a pleasure for tomorrow

    1. I am going to Botswana for 3 weeks :j (Real life? who needs it :rotfl:)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
