Technology issues in the middle of no where here, and welcome to the new names I see in catching up on posts.

There has been much more sun than rain which has to be very good especially for here.

I tried to cook with seaweed and found its great in burgers but not so great in curry, where all the ingredients should have been tasty but erm wasn't. That's the fun in camping..:o::rotfl:

Paying for everything in cash to keep track.:money:

Making plans to visit again in foraging season for a week.:o

We have walked miles each day along estuary shoreline.:)

Feeling relaxed and fine to come home, have only today realised we have another week so wow that's a weird feeling.:j
  • 1) We took the boys to an aviation museum this morning, oh such joy, Zebra charmed the lovely volunteers and got to sit in a cockpit and twizzle all the buttons etc. and got gifted a small plane on the way out, Orley was wake and seemed fascinated by it all too.

    2) Lunch at Ikea where again both of them were on best form and Zebra ate all his lunch.

    3) Now snuggled up 4 in a row on the sofa watching Madagascar!

    4) Don't need to cook this evening so we're giving Zebra a giants picnic where everything must be able to be eaten in one bite.

    5) First rain for weeks is giving the garden a real good watering and filling up the water butts which were running on empty.

Thank you for the book suggestions house elf, I'll pass them on to my bookworm :)

    1. Went to see Under Milk Wood yesterday. Hmm. Definitely not my cup of tea, far too confusing, but well staged, well acted and Chap thinks I'm the best girlfriend EVER for taking him!! :):)

    2. As I bought the theatre tickets, Chap treated me to scrummy dinner :)

    3. My lovely younger children in class have all done brilliantly in their end of year spelling and maths tests. Felt mean making them do them, as I always spring tests as a nice surprise, lol, rather than having them panic that they're coming, and wow, didn't they do well :) Makes me feel like I might have taught them something after all!!!

    4. Went for a swim before school, which really helped wake me up :)

    5. Scrumptious dinner and plenty of leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.

    6. Colleague bought me a delicious salad for lunch when she popped out to local town.

    7. Chap went for an interview on Monday and got offered the job this evening!!! Really pleased for him as it'll be far more interesting than what he currently does, but slightly worried as it sounds like it's a pay cut....and he's not exactly rich....but the job satisfaction will hopefully be immense.

    * Drove to Lubbock again yesterday (3hrs one way) for DH's orthopedic surgeon appt. No op at this time :j but steroid shots in both knees. He feels great today. The lobster was no longer on the restaurant table. Well, we didn't actually check because unlike leather coats in Paris...lobster has an expiration date. Did you hear the one about the 20 lb live lobster in checked luggage?

    * Floors began being laid today. It got off to a slow start as my walls are not straight.

    * Chicken soup (with NM Hatch green chile of course) so my fridge is now leftover free. I can start stocking up for this long weekend's events.

*Quoye announced she expects Duke (DH) to take her fishing while she's here visiting. She loves to eat fish!
It's soooo hot that nothing is biting. Maybe very early morning fishing is the way to go.
We do have fresh caught fish in the freezer so Sat nite we will have it just for our precious girl.

    * Behzat C on Netflix. Only 85 more episodes to go. It keeps me out of trouble.
And I've been feeling like causing trouble lately!

*Bills paid and slogging my way through the last of the paperwork. Progress!
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

We have lashing rain.its not rained in ages so it's very good for the garden.

Work. Had a few odd moments, had a customer who looked like one of the surgeons that cared for OH , I probably should have said something but didn't and it seemed unlikely that he'd be in the shop at 6.30am but he was dressed in scrubs. Then another customer said he'd spoken to my husband yesterday and I'm assuming he meant the boss and I just quickly said he's not my husband ( meaning heaven forbid that HE was!) then realised I don't have one anymore and felt so sad. Then later whilst out with DD1 met the massage therapist from palliative care. It was a kind of I know your face moment and then we realised who each other was and she just gave me a huge hug.

It's a year ago today we had confirmation of diagnosis whilst we were on holiday in Tasmania. It's 17 weeks since he died and I'm just having a bad day but there were pleasures too.

Laughing out loud with DD1 whilst we had some lunch.

Bought some very pretty flowers. A mix of roses and gerbera, carnations, eucalypts and berries and all very delicate and wintery looking and some bright orange calendula that were very cheap and are very cheerful.

Being a listening ear to my friend from home.

Son doing an OH job....teasing $2 coins out of my sealed money pot with a knife! More patience than me and $188 ( gave him the random $1 coin that was in there for doing it! This will go towards my car rego bill which is due at end of July...reminder came in today .

As always my dog just knowing when to come and snuggle in ...and my children do too.

Picked a posy of camelias from the garden for my room. Pink, red and white.

Saw a glass water/ drink dispenser in window of salvos. Looks a bit vintage-y , missing a lid but looks perfect for our morning tea in a few weeks. Thinking mulled apple juice . It's having a good steep!

Hoovered & dusted and looking a bit tidier.

    Have a good day :)
  • 5 Well as you knows that BoP can cook and does his own sauce of parsley, recipe see BoP rantings passim, now my local emporium has come up with more genius ways of extracting money from muppets. Food boxes, where they deliver to you on Thursday, a two curse or three coarse meal. How much! £29!! Or £39 Not on your Nellie. For poached eggs in tom sauce I think not! BoP would want a decent Fillet Steak, grilled toms with decent flavourings, mushrooms. And decent three quarts of proper wobbleade. If I paid £39, I would expect decent service as well! Enough said, but as you lot knows as well, do all our educationalists today want the children to be desk cattle until they are 22? Strained to passing an exam, but the creativity squashed to answer the question on Billy Shakespear, rather that attend the theatre and enjoy the performance? BoP as gotten as right one on about this. But in all, have we forgotten to teach how to cook? Rant Rant Rant!
The box contains a Red Onion, garlic clove, carrot, celery stick, baby potatoes (cattle feed?), tin of chopped toms, veg paste (What?), beans, Orzo pasta (SpagYETTI) Baby kale (What?) rocket pesto. Bean casserole!!! £24!!!! Muppets Avoid!!!
BoP Special Fried rice, as done in the Pan by BoP on Tuesday Night.
1 Egg, whisked with milk. 20P
    King Prawns £3.20
Long grain rice 25 pence, from packet
    Mushroom 10 pence
    Bit of onion 5 pence
Soy Sauce, a meal in itself, but BoP wolfed this down with four day old curry! Cost £5!!!! Cooking time, the same! Enjoyment better and pennies in the pocket of BoP! See below about lack of wobbleade chits!
    Rant over!

4 Anyway, me and BoPsie went and spread all of our pennies into the wobbleade emporium last night. Well day of pay is inn the morning so! On the way there, we saw those who are going to continue their schooling until 21 arrive at the local hotel opposite. Now when I thirst went to college aged 14. We had no does like that, we had proper rock. I remember inn December 78 going to the refectory and seeing Eddie & The Hot Rods. Pure magic, and the night was a riot. On the Monday afterwards we all had to write an apology to the principal as to why it was so good that evening! As we were then first year apprentices, after 4 2 plus years at college, of curse , some though we were a tad old enough to attend! Well after scribbling our thoughts on one side of A4, we were told by our course leader how fortunate that we did not attend as we were all under 18 at the time and the second year apprentices had some people expelled from college for the matter! We continued and I can still remember Jimmy Lang with his furled lip explaining how lucky we were, knowing we had all got tickets! That is how to do it, and not be saddled passing some ticket exam to extend another three years at Uni with years of debt!

    Rave on!

3 So today we has no pennies as we were inn the wobbleade emporium last night ! And no ready left over food either. Wobbleade chits will be accepted at any cost! Still we will be delving innto sardines on toast tonight with fresh garden salad! Proper food and not as rip of as that cook box mentioned above! Other foods are available!

2 On and On and On. It is pure drivel this day from BoP! BoPsie has sent BoP a request for a night inn town tomorrow with the red paint. Gorilla has been suggested and the late Big Warster train readied to take us home! Tomorrow is a double yippee day. Pay and POETS Day! That Big Warster train is going to be …

    Marmalade Sandwiches everyone!
  • 1) Woke up early and got up to clear the ironing and make Bolognese sauce for supper as I knew we were out all day, managed this before anyone else was awake!

    2) Playing at making a tent with the spare bed quilt with that Zebra this morning, so much hilarity and then making a big pile of pillows, cushions and quilts on the landing for him to jump into, Oh my!

    3) Lovely day our at an open air museum with DD and the boys, so much to see, so much to do, lovely.

    4) Zebra in a tudor kitchen watching some ladies cook yeasted buns on a griddle over an open fire was offered some to try and saved his charm offensive for them by saying it was delicious and nicer than his sandwich bread.

    5) Tea by the bucket when we got home, Oh YES!!!

    1. NSD

    2. DD and I went for a lovely swim after school.

    3. Found out who my new class is going to be next year. Some lovelies, some I'm less enthusiastic about, but a smaller class, and we'll have a blast!

    4. Payday tomorrow, and my payslip is showing payment of expenses I claimed, every little helps....

    5. Heard from the mortgage adviser that I can afford the grand total of less than a quarter of a house around here, if I try to buy anything that's not shared ownership (I can't get a mortgage for a shared ownership house, crazy eh, as the mortgage companies say that paying rent on the bit I don't own makes it unaffordable on my salary, despite it all coming to less than renting?!?) . Ho hum....

    6. Had a fab teaching day today, the class were all on fire! Makes life so much sweeter.

    7. Lots of hugs with DD.

    8. My friend with the harem (newly dating after coming out of a v-e-r-y long relationship) is having a whale of a time!! :)
