No searing pain yet from remaining bit of wisdom tooth though I have just read that severe bruxism (like wot I have) kills your ground down tooth in the end so perhaps that's why it doesn't hurt. Anti grind guard in situ as I type.

    Pleasures for today (Sunday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Spent an hour or so on the allotment, weeded, planted more salad leaves, picked lots of raspberries. Hens very jolly and enjoyed drinking water straight from the end of the hose.

    3) Salad leaves for lunch with anchovies. Raspberries and Gk yoghurt for pudding.

    4) Did various jobs and dusted the lounge. Everything will remain a bit dusty while we have one unplastered wall.

    5) Cauliflower and macaroni cheese for tea.

    6) Just picked bigger son and his bike up from nearest town and a fire engine and lots of happy, waving fire men in the street - presumably a false alarm.

P.S. Frith - my coolbox end fit in the 12v charger hole. Haven't tested it properly though, am saving that for when we go to Welsh Wales :) Sorry yours didn't, I thought they were just standard size?!? :(

    Morning Folks,

Lovely day yesterday. Did not have to think to hard about pleasures :j

    1. Trip to NEC for sewing show with two lovely people. Lots of conversation, laughter and inspiration for projects we will never have the time to do!!!!

    2. Made a decoupage heart, tried out some Japanese embroidery, watched a talk about Kimonos.

    3. Lunch at Wetherspoons.

    4. Paid £2 for parking, as we parked at Resortsworld. Spent £20 on some 'ill fitting ' clothing at Next. Got parking ticket validated. DF will return 'ill fitting' clothing for a refund today!!!!

    5. Cranberry pork in the slow cooker when I got home. DH and I sat outside in evening sunshine for roast dinner and Eton mess for pud. :)

DS 2 gone off on his field trip. We really only see him twice a day at breakfast and dinner! The rest of the time he spends in his room Effing and Jeffing at the computer! I will miss him.:(

    Pleasures for Sunday,

Up with the larks on a glorious summer morning, out with the dogs relishing peace and quiet.

Watching the swifts circling the cottage, stunt flying at its best.

Nicely warm but not steaming, had a roast dinner for first time in a while.

    Much snoozing on sofa.

A quiet, gentle day at home, perfick.

It's been so, so cold today! Very brrrrr.

    Work and paid :)

A customer gave me another 3 lemons of the Lyell variety.

Was bright and sunny to start though blooming freezing and my washing was almost dry as there was such a good wind and then the rain came!
( but still need to go and remake my bed ...sigh!)

Had nice lunch with the kids , it's school holidays and was just nice to sit together and laugh. Often they are in and out with classes and work. We had pumpkin soup and crusty French bread & sausage rolls.

    Chat with friend .

Had a letter saying our private health insurance is finished, sent to me instead of OH. The pleasure is another thing done.

Saw some purple irises hiding in a corner of the garden. Maybe Spring is just round the corner ( about another 8 weeks!)

    Have a good day
  • 5 I suppose that most of you were expecting a shower when BoP fitted the crapper at the weekend. Well, all I can say is BoPsie, who selected the seat, has been on her throne and to her, it is glistening and perfect. What used to be my man cave has been taken over! The fish that hangs on the window sill is back inn place. This weekend the carpet and shelves will be done! You will be flush when it is finished. I want my man cave back.

4 After all that, BoP did tea of fresh haddock, non-Icelandic, homemade sauce of parsley, with fresh crimped parsley as well. Minted buttered new tatties, Compote of Garden infused with mushy peas. Proper food! Strawberries and vienetta was also wolfed down!

Compote of Garden infused with mushy peas in not available in any emporium. Recipe is handed down by generations and is not available! Mushy Peas did not come from the greasy spoon caf! in Guiseley! Just remember if you use the greasy spoon caf! inn Guiseley, the Pontooners’ at the Theatre of Fish have a ditty about how the haddock is processed for them. See note five above for some of the context!

3 After that, I am back at the mill, with the water racing around here. Best shirt and tie on, with a proper Windsor knot as well! Had to come inn via the motorway as council decided to dig up the short cut. They are probably putting in stupid gate things to prevent the traffic flowing, at the same time, waiting, after years of doing up the Frenchay junction, now it is time to do the bridge! Still the extra lane they put in is still blocked off Chaos awaits the people! But, at least the residents can be assured of being jammed in their homes for another year! Further west, the bus lane in Sadley Broke And after being inn the emporium w8rs yesterday, free paper and with voucher, money stays inn pocket of BoP, we snatched the cakes of Jaffa from the shelf again, and a cake. Well I has too say, the cake was fantastic. Well worth a rub of the tum!

2 Night the beach ready body of BoP will be doing double somersaults in the gym. Impressive maybe, but after the fitting of the crapper, I am up to anything!

The days are drawing in now!
  • 1) Being back at home after a super weekend away, home is nice too!

    2) The train today was a 'proper' train with 3 carriages and padded seats, so much more comfortable than my last two journeys back!

    3) He Who Knows has steam mopped all the hard floors whilst I've been away, he's a good boy!

    4) Meeting a lovely lady on the train, we had a good old chat and put both our worlds to rights, very nice too.

    5) Going up to the polytunnel to pick as I got home, my relaxy place after the hustle and bustle of the train, Ive it in there.

    1. Sunshine!

    2. NSD :)

    3. Tickets for Les Mis arrived and will be put safely away....

    4. Fresh sheets on the bed

    5. The prospect of a very early night once DD goes to bed. We both overslept and I've been feeling decidedly odd all day. The pleasure will be hopefully feeling back to my usual self by the morning!

    Pleasures for today (Monday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Spent some time on the allotment. Picked raspberries, salad and strawberries.

    3) Bigger son had his enrolment afternoon at college.

    4) I spent the afternoon waiting for bigger son and looking round the charity shops.

    5) We had a cup of tea and a scone in the cathedral.

    6) A rubbish day for smaller son. He took his shoes off to play football at breaktime (swapping to his boots). Left his shoes near his bag on the field and someone flushed one of them down the toilet. :-O A weird email from school to inform me and then the line "if he wears trainers rather than shoes tomorrow, he will be in isolation" !!!!!! Well, his shoe is out on the step drying so I should think he will not be wearing it tomorrow. He most certainly will not be going into isolation for it...

He did calm down as the evening went on and I have been story telling for an hour or so.
