A few for today.
Work ( boo hiss on a Tuesday but another day another dollar)
Caught up on some telly.
Washings out and almost dry. Just need to iron now.
Picked some pretty camellias.
Enjoyed some toasted croissants ( very RTC in freezer) with strawberry jam.
Having chicken(RTC) and pasta for tea.0 -
Some pleasures for Monday,
Good nights sleep so felt refreshed all day.
Went to BuryStEd to pick up a few bits, used a voucher :money: and a kind soul gave me their car park ticket with two hours left on it
Sat in the garden reading for a while but the thunderbugs drove me in.
Our evening stroll tipped my daily steps over 10k.
Baby rabbits eating the clover in our lawn.0 -
Morning all.
1. Returning home from holiday to cool fresh weather.
2. Fire on, after a tad too much of No 1 !
3. All washing and half of ironing done.
4. Cats both so happy to see me despite being spoilt by friend.
5. Toast and peanut butter with a cup of tea.0 -
Peanut Butter? Now you don’t need BoP to go off on one again do you! But peanut butter. Now that is like baby food, it comes out the same way as it goes in, but is like the difference between a fine needle file and a Bastard file. It is smooth or crunchy. Either way, it is still carp. Father BoP loved it. He could not eat too much of the rotten stuff. He was not a man who steel, as he hated Marmite. He used to fall ill just looking at the yellow cap. So now you know why BoP turned out good and father BoP was reduced to thinking that anything crunchy came in a jar of sunpat! Not proper food, avoid!
5 Back at the mill again this morning. On the way here the motorway of smart was blocked by the highwaymen, who at times need to stop the traffic from flowing to keep themsens gainfully employed. So two lanes turn into three, suddenly the new lane is coned off by them just around the corner! Instead of closing the whole lane, they create chaos. Smart motorway, avoid!
4 On that, the cakes of Jaffa were taken at elevenses with proper tea. Tum was rubbed. Bit fed up as I was slightly greedy this morning and wolfed down my cheese early! That will be none left for lunch. Oh well.
3 So that only leaves the pork pie and salad for lunch! Proper food and not the carp from the supermarket. Actually I was in emporium of S yesterday to pick up some nuts, and we have only 58 points there this year! Hardly worth going to! Avoid.
2 Was watching the Dr Bronowski last eve on another essay. How much that has disappeared these days and we tend to repeat what has happened in the essay already. Start, how much we repeat, again I watched the Dr last eve, Brownoski on another story. An essay! I like a good essay or lesson and that seems missing in our lives today. Instead we are fed by the media a diet of tripe. Snippet here!

Get wound up and ready.
2. Two Ladies who Lunch did so, fully caferouged in town of gown hier, way more than 3hrs, then CSd, then JLd for & to acquire proper ironing board cover with giftcard goodwill. Change from years of curtain bits, blanket bits, fit4purpose remnants, as used over decades.
V.few real £s used for big spend-up day.
MrT vouchers saw to £60 of good munch. Little Pot of Snails onwards, all was tippytop. Recognised and welcomed by same Euro-friend lass for several years now, always good for business, apart from it being entirely pleasant.
Quite a few No More Books acquired by & [ including a 1st edn h/b+uncut d/j of Tim Winton's 'Dirt Music!! Glorious find! ], by old Uni friend. Also, CS-spotted by us both simultaneously - a big old gold hanging thingy metal &! £3 paid with alacrity. Exchange the ironing board cover. What happened there? Huge and torpedo-shaped, no relation to given measurements or diagram.
3. Enzed friends working away on Boxer van early today. Trial w/e to old UK friend this Fri. As & brekkied, J came in for sth and exclaimed....'Oooh, there's a frog!' She froze, unwilling to disturb him/her/ from another of &'s little waters, inset for them especially. He stayed. & insisted J just walk on normally. All is well. J v.pleased to see him/her.
4. J already assembling &gifty blanket. She has worked all the crochet square colours with meaning, which & sensed and sees. It's a truly lovely, if unnecessary, Thankyou.
5. Back field harvest can't be far off. Golden rippling vastness of wheat. It's a natural Time to Stand and Stare

No Queenstown bungees will swing it, bop.....or will they? Can't see even-handed jurisdiction anywhere in any decisions this week. Nor can Alma cohort.

Now now BOP. As a child brought up on the stuff I now prefer whole earth. I can and do eat off the spoon!
Marmite and butter mixed up and spread on toast is a Sunday treat. No snorkers for me. Pork pie? do you remember Petitts butchers?0 -
1) Kind neighbour has just delivered me a lovely big bowl of ripe red currants as she has more she needs, I traded her some cucumbers and more to come as they grow for her grandchildren in return.
2) He Who Knows has had a very nice days fishing, he deserves it!
3) Salmon for supper tonight.....I really like salmon!
4) It's warm enough here this afternoon to need the fan on, super stuff!
5) We've had confirmation that we have a table booked for lunch tomorrow at my favourite vegan restaurant in the old water mill, Yum!0 -
A strange day today.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Toast and marmite for breakfast.
3) Hens OK and picked raspberries and salad leaves.
4) Made salad for lunch for me and ham and salad sandwiches for bigger son.
5) Went to the nurse after lunch for the ear pain and swollen glands I have had for 2 weeks. Feels like mumps. Turns out it is not an ear infection but a throat infection. Not so worried about that, it can heal on its own.
6) Met my school friend for a cup of tea.
7) Off to bigger son's new college for a parent evening thing. Asked lots of questions. All seems very organised.
8) Phoned brother of Frith earlier to discuss his Wimbledon trip arrangements. Text the B and B man, I suggested. Cue much muttering from brother about "Where was his phone?" and "WHY isn't it in my pocket".
Then... "Ah, I know where my phone is, I'm using it to talk to you" ! :-D0 -
Morning Folks,
Beautiful morning. Was sitting in the garden listening to the birds, watching the Swifts up high, but no internet in the garden this morning, so had to come inside for a quick catch up.
Yesterday
1. Happy that a parent came in and asked my help, but then spent most of the day sorting the query.
2. Nice chat with colleague at end of the day.
3. Independence Day in America. Opportunity to wear my American flag scarf, bought in the White House Gift Shop!
4. Celebrated Independence Day with 50% off burgers at Eds Diner.
5. Watched Independence Day when we got home. Love Will Smith!
Enjoy the sunshine0 -
A quick post as still enjoying my holidasy.
1. Feeling relaxed and DH is learning to relax to. He has never been good at it.
2. Found some lovely cushion covers for a garden seat. Have been looking for ages and found some that are perfect. DS2 is going to pay me for them for my birthday present.
3. Spending less money on food than I thought we would. DH has been happy to eat n as we are in an apartment more than he usually is. I enjoy cooking when it doesn't matter when we eat and lots of fresh fish.
4. More wine tasting and more wine bought to take home.
5. Swimming in the sea and outdoor pool which I love.0
