4 Cleaned kitchen and started on washing (not done any for 3 days)
5 Made the kids t-rex's for tea. mash potato for the t-rex, sausage for the teeth, spines, arms and feet and baked beans for the grass. They loved it!0 -
Glad you had a nice birthday Tealady

2) cuddles from dd this morning
3) colleagues invited me into their meeting just to grab a free lunch
4) seeing work colleagues I don't get to see that often
5) M&S roast lamb from the Easter family dine in
6) nuttybabe's t-rex!
7) dd singing Hannah Montana to her ipod (she really should be asleep now, I should be mad but keep having the odd awww! moment, let's see if it lasts until 10pm again tonight)

Evening all,
Hope you are well...
Tealady - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Hope you are having a great day
Newlywed - Sorry to hear about the job... but so glad you have been offered another interview. Put it down to good experience and you being one interview closer to the job of your dreams that pays you a lot more than £13k!
I've had a good day on balance - rewrote our procurement policy and had a go a drafting a supplier diversity policy. I really am making it up as I go along... hope no-one notices!
1) Yummy samples of a new breakfast biscuit called Bellevita (or something like that) - highly calorific but yummy none the less.
2) Went for a wander at lunch time with the bosses PA and another colleague which was nice. It gave the bosses PA an opporunity to rant which is probably good for her as she is always so polite, diplomatic and restrained in the office.
3) Left work on time - can I get a whoop whoop? anyone?
4) Been on a baking frenzy tonight - big batch of beef pasties (which are so yummy even if they look a bit of a mess), biscuits from the dough in the freezer, a victoria sponge cake and a tart.
5) tidying out my car... it has been disgraceful over the last 6 months and I want to take it to the charity car wash on Saturday so it can't have junk everywhere...
Have a great evening
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hellllloooooo!
My OS pleasures for today:
1) Visit to Navy Careers office to see the chaps there and discuss work stuff - always nice to see them, and get a decent cup of coffee!
2) Yummy lunch of left over picnic tea bits from last night...mmmm!
3) Told by boss man that I will be attending a conference instead of him, which I am super happy about because I really wanted to go!
4) Took Bodie pup for his first walk today - he is pretty sleepy now!
5) Had a look at flylady thread and did my first job on list - hurrah!
Hope you all have a great Friday tomorrow - I am very pleased it's the weekend and looking forward to OH being home and not away with the marines (also means I don't have to clean all his kit as he won't be using it!)Clearing debt to save for a simple wedding.Starting 2016 With debt of £77000 -

Happy Birthday Tealady!
My 5 for today:
1. Went to Aldi and bought 2 cheap clematis plants so that i can grow them over the horrible back garden fence that unfortunately is not going to be replaced for a very long time. Hopefully it will work and look a heck of a lot better than it currently does.
2. Just fished out easiyo maker out of the back of the cupboard so i will make some yoghurt shortly, i have a sachet left that needs using up, (mum gave me the sachet or i would make it from scratch!).
3. Visited my folks and had a cup of tea with them.
4. Received a great cookbook today 'More with Less' by Doris Longacre. It is second hand (or maybe 50th hand by the grubbiness/tattiness of it - but hey, it was cheap!)...i have had a flick through and i'm getting quite excite about some of the recipes.
5. Made a nice easy tea, i had a couple of large baguettes so i turned them into panninis and we had them with baked beans. Terribly simple and yet, really filling and enjoyable.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
Evening, everyone. Been a while... I'm back though now. I'm not sure what's happened over the last month or so - I'm still doing the whole OS-thing but I've been unable to get motivated for much else. I'm really sorry
Anyway, here are my five for today:
1) The pink and white blossoms everywhere. It's really pretty and lifts the mood.
2) Getting a bit of rain this afternoon. I stepped outside after work with a few raindrops falling on me. The air smelled wonderful.
3) Coming up with a new recipe to try in the slow cooker - sweet potato with passata and red pepper to make pasta sauce (or to boost existing bolognese/chilli/etc with extra nutrients). I'll do that in the morning.
4) Re-re-discovering my OSiness.
5) Getting home and taking my hair down. Bliss.
Nothing new with me, really. I've had a cough off and on for about a month and I've started doing Pilates daily to try and future-proof my joints a bit. Take care, everyone, and have a nice evening.
Kitchenbunny xx

Ello, ello, ello, what 'ave we 'ere then... (yep, got me fingers on me bracers, and doing the knee bends whilst typing - get that for multi tasking!)
Sparrer sorry to have missed your AoB! Great news on the april budget, 2 hours 45 mins to go (its 9.15 as I write!) then you will be home and dry on the saving! (excuse the pun on the repaired tap :rotfl:)
Tealady HIPPY 21st *(with some experience!) BUFFDAY! Sounds like you had a lovely day :T:T:T
SavingforOz... all I can say is CAPTAIN KIRK???:rotfl::eek::rotfl::eek:
Mollie, what was the new recipe? you cant leave it at that!
Emilyka if you want to share, I would love to see the website of the allotment as Im sure would others, let us have the link if you dont mind that is
Bunnytoo, in Ollies absence I would love to take the rhubarb cake recipe off your hands ! (Ok even if she wasnt Awol I would still love it as I have 6lb of rhubarb, and my first attempt at crumble a few weeks back, erm, resulted in a really yum rhubarb crumble icecream - ofc the intention all along!)
ESMF - thats a true OS pleasure, grabbing time for a bathI mean that so sincerely, sometimes its the smallest of things that make the biggest difference to us.
Margaret54, Sausage rolls and chips! I'd forgotten that! Where as most women love chocolate, I have no sweet tooth, mines savoury! Even when I was nursing, patients would bring in tins of sweets and biccies as a thankyou, all I wanted was someone to bring sausage rolls! But Id forgotten about them as meal with chips and beans in our house, a proper treat! I am so having that for dinner tomorrow, I have some frozen ones (dont shoot me, Gosia bought them for me as she knows I adore them!)
Wogglemaker, you make me out of breath just reading what you did, never mind doing it all !. What a productive day. Megga whoopsies and a massive batch cook, awesome :T:T:T
Newlywed, we did miss you, but I was sure you had mentioned a wedding, so assumed. Glad you had a lovely time, and great news on the job front. And well done for telling them you expected more pay, alot of companies would respect that very much.
CCP - I think your colleagues are very mean! But sausages and bubble and squeak are yum!:D:D Have you tried any veggie sausages? When I diet, I follow WW and find the quorn ones and the WW ones, tho not exactly your lincolnshire sausage, but makes me feel like I had something I wanted! ( note the "when" as in repeated! )
Nutty, I see a potential new thread here ! *Cue big movie music and voice over* "we've had Sharks, we've had T rex, TUNE IN NEXT WEEK TO SEE THE NEXT INSTALLMENT" *cue dramatic music* I propose some sort of outer space theme next! planets, stars, spacemen... and a picture! anyone else want to jump in with ideas? I think its fab that you do that. :T:T:T I wanna come to tea at yours!
Girly, yet another lovely set of pleasuresDid hanna montana last till 10 in the end?
Ladyhawk WHOOP WHOOP on number 3:T:D:T:D:T
Nyksig - I see what you did there, excuses to go talk "shop" when all you wanted was a decent free coffee - "High five"bless little bodie too
Zarazara, lots of lovely pleasures, I agree about the rain, but it makes everythign sparkleNature spring cleaning.
Katholicos - I could never understand these people that "read" cookery books, (but then i could burn water! _ I still can :rotfl:) Now, I cant understand why not everyones internet bookmarks are recipe pages, and why they dont head straight for the book section in charity shops BEFORE looking at the other stuff! And OMG, Delicious magazine is due any day! Let us know what you try from your new book, sounds intriguing!
Kitchenbunny - great to see you backbig hugs that you have had a bit of a rough time, but good that you are popping in when you can
I did pilates, I went because my friend said it was easy... HOW WRONG CAN YOU BE! (she was a gym fiend and went 4 times a week on top of pilates! I should have known!)
I loved it though. Im not an aerobics grapevine girl (apart from the fact when they say "thats the warm up done" and Im on the floor collapsed needing a cig and feeling like the end is nigh as my heart is going to pump out of my chest!) Its just not my thing! But I found pilates fun and relaxing at the same time.
doo bee do bee dooooo... I know you thought Frank popped in there for a second I sound so like him...
I doo be doo be did...
1) due to an oversight, realised today, that for the party we have booked on Saturday, I had no sticky toffee pudding, no sticky toffee sauce, no apple crumble, and no trifles made... Situation rectified! made all apart from the trifle which I will do on the day! ALso means that I have spare sticky toffees and crumbles for the dessert board after Saturday! (the recipe makes 40 and I needed 5... have been putting off making it but its done now! Same with apple crumbles - I make it all the time, but havent in the last few days typically!)
2) also made more pasta ready to be filled tomorrow.
3) also made some pastry ready to be pied / parcelled / whatever tomorrow!
4) also made some beetroot icecream, will let you know if it sets tomorrow!
5) also made some choc brownies with a recipe that I got from MSE some time ago, to go with the beetroot icecream if it sets tomorrow!
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, your only a day awaaaaaay....
Ok at least I have red hair like annie, more resemblance than to frank (I hope!)
gn y'all
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -
Having a bit of a rubbish time at the moment. But not as bad as some of my friends - 2 have had other people drive into their cars and 1 has had a baby in hospital for a few days (OK now). My sister has had a bad back for YEARS and was told it was a 3 month wait to see the consultant. She had the X ray done then the MRI done last week and all of a sudden she has been given an appointment to see the consultant next Tuesday. Now she is worrying to death that someone has looked at the MRI scan and something is so terribly wrong they need to see her instantly.
Anyway, I am determined to find 5 for today even if they're a bit dull!
1) Had a free day so the spring clean continued! Did all my room today including washing down the skirting boards (ornate things with lots of grooves to trap the dust) and the floorboards. Also did 2 loads of washing and an hour of ironing...
2) Had an appointment card arrive in the post to talk to the speech therapist after she has assessed little son (3 hours of assessment) next week. She is the first of the team who have to give him the final yes or no for autism. He has to see this lady, the occupational therapist (in a fortnight), a child psych and an educational psych plus his ordinary paediatrician. Glad this is all underway. Quite hard work for a speech therapist as he has selective mutism!
3) Have a lovely full fridge and food cupboard thanks to Mr Tesco delivery yesterday. I had been scrimping and saving and running the stocks low. We had a roast chicken last night so I had some of that cold with avocado to make a sandwich for lunch.
4) It rained. It hasn't rained here for over a fortnight so I had been nipping out to water some of the plants. Everything is a lot less dusty now. Lets hope it remembers to STOP raining at some point, we've had enough now!
5) Played with the Playmobile with little son for quite a while.
6) Sister came round this evening with an Indian take away.
