    Evening all,

Hope you are all well and enjoyed the sunshine... sadly I was couped up in a hotel meeting room all day at a conference so didn't get a chance to revel in it again. The conference was just a talking shop as usual - we all know the issues facing the food supply chain and talking about them won't help... what we need is concrete actions but no-one seems to be prepared to take the plunge and address the real issue - that of over population and the fact that global population is going to reach 9b in the next 40 years! Grrr... sorry rant over!

    1) Lovely lunch at the conference

    2) NSD

    3) Nice wine at the after conference drinks combined with a very interesting conversation.

    4) Spent the jounrey back on the train devising a list of things that I want to get done before the long weekend is over... it is a long list which sadly comprises mostly of chores. But at least it will help me get focussed.

    5) Banana bread for breakfast... YUM!

Night night... don't let the bed bugs bite

    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Hi all :)

    1. Brother surprised me by sending me a birthday present, he never remembers, and it's lovely 'moulting hound' smellies, lucky me :)

    2. Work friend left me a squashy nana on my desk, she likes 'em green, I like 'em squashy, yum yum.

    3. YS bread for DD's sandwiches

    4. DD managed to eat two tiny pieces of celery in her salad this evening, what with that and a little piece of lettuce, I was very pleased with her!

    5. We did some gardening this afternoon and made the most of the good weather, as apparently it's getting cold again in the next couple of days *sigh*

Definitely going to have an early night tonight, sleep well all

    Evening!
So glad the thanks thing was brought up, I have been meaning to ask this for weeks! What is it for (other than the obvious thanking someone for a nice or helpful post!) Please dont think I am rude if I was meant to thank people and didnt, I just didnt realise what it was all about!!!! Or if its about anyting other than the above!

on to item 2 on the agenda!

Sparrer, glad you found a good spot to take the gks too, sounds great, morcombe has loads of lovely beaches I hear (and the icecream vans to go with it :D:D:D)

Emilyka, good job on the bulk cook and the money into the bank! This whole bulk cooking thing is such a revelation, no idea why I never did it before! One mess, a million dinners! = WIN!

SAvingforOz I think I spotted a typo in your number 2, surely its only 3 years since you left school !;)

Molly - Awesome news on DHs job :T:T:T and all the extras it means for you :) well done!

Trinny, loved your number 5 - proper OS Money saving :money:!

CCP, I now need to read their manifesto! 99p coin is genious!

Nutty so glad to hear yu are feeling a bit better, now dont you go spending that £4.80 all at once you hear!

Girly - I cant believe your strawberries are budding, mine arent even breaking the surface, and I WAS patient, and DID put the pack in the freezer before I planted them!

LAdyhawk, you rant all you want :) I agree ! And as for the schedule you have devised, the sooner you have one, the sooner you can get behind it is my motto!

Kitti, hope you had a lovely birthday, and tell your DD she is a good girl for eating those yummy things :T

Moving to Item 3 on the agenda:

    1) sorting out some of our disused plates and cutlery for Gosia, and she was just overjoyed, she couldnt stop grinning! She has 12 of each knife fork spoon and soup spoons, and 6 of each side plates, soup bowls, plates, pasta bowls, cereal bowls, and a toast rack! Dug out the old toaster and a "thing" to put her utensils in! She was just so happy, it was wonderful :)

    2) Gosia is moving in a week on monday, and that will be my first day off, so I am going to help her, cant wait :D

    3) The girls running over to / flying into the fence, as I went out the front of the inn to see the newly jetwashed patio, despite me being miles away they must have heard / spotted me - its nice to be wanted! However, they were less impressed when I wouldnt let them out to scrat as it was chucking it down, I got a telling off!

    4) made some twinks - say no more!

    5) made the smoked salmon dill and cream cheese raviolis with the leftover pasta in the end, and I might well get into this pasta thing - it will overtake my pastry obsession hopefully as its quicker!

Ok so if there is no other buisness, I declare the meeting over, see you all tomorrow!

Whoa! Excuse me Jex here's some AOB ;)...........

    my 5
    1. The dripping tap had turned into a slow stream by this morning. I phoned the HA and they sent someone straight away as I explained I'd filled my water butt from it, and it was costing me to heat water which was dripping away. They were really nice as was the plumber who came.
    2. Said plumber is going to request I have lever taps as my right hand has arthritis in thumb and wrist (no-one has told it I'm too young for that yet), luckily I'm left handed :D
    3. My sunshine garden, so called as everything I've planted in the back garden is yellow and white, is looking lovely, this is its first year when everything is in bloom all together. Even the white lilac tree is has 11 huge blossoms, albeit not quite out yet, and it's only 5 feet tall :)
    4. I know there are still a couple of days to go but there's still £120 left in my April budget :j! It would be sods law though that something breaks down tomorrow, now I've said that
    5. Beautiful sunshine until teatime then the garden got watered by the rain, so I didn't have to use my drippy tap water and the butt is still full :D

    Night night, sleep tight

    Morning

Couldn't post yesterday as the home laptop has decided to die:mad:. I'm using OH's this morning. At least I know what to spend birthday money on now plus I have some money in the sealed pot.

    Mine for yesterday:
    1. Back to OS everyone left the house with a packed lunch and either ate breakfast at home or took it with them.
    2. Load of washing on the line to dry
    3. Lift into work off a friend that was passing plus walked home so no bus fares yesterday
    4. Sorting out a misunderstanding with OH which has left me quite upset.
    5. OH being quite attentive all day and phoning several times, this never usually happens. Will make the most of it:rotfl:

Hugs to all who need them plus those that just want one

    I think I love Jexygirl....:D...but sadly that wasn't a typo!

Happy birthday, Tealady! Hope I've got that right - today is your
    birthday, isn't it?

    My 5 for yesterday:

    1. Yummy curry with good friends.
    2. Not having to pay for my curry as my friends decided it should be a birthday treat.
    3. Getting 2 unexpected emails from my friend in Miami.
    4. My daft birthday present from one of my friends - a mouse mat with Captain Kirk on it. I made the mistake of telling her once that when I was a hormonally challenged teenager, I had a crush on Captain Kirk  (I know!! I know!!). It's been a source of much teasing ever since. Mind you, she can't talk - she had a crush on Magnum P.I.!!
    5. Good day at work, being out of the office for most of the morning.

    Have a good day, everyone!
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
  • Morning all.
I don't know where the sun has gone, but its really grey here this morning :(.

Here are my pleasures for yesterday:

    - Washed loads of towels and dried them on the washing line. As well as my all my bedding, which dried so quickly I could put it straight back on the bed.
    - Sleeping in clean bedding, I love that feeling of clean sheets :).
    - Trying another new recipe for tea. It was nice, but I have some ideas to tweak it for next time.
    - The bolier repair man came back and fixed the thermostat. Although I hope that I don't have to use it until next winter, its nice to know it's working again.
    - Continuing with my spring clean of the house, by getting rid of old catalogues that have been piling up in my cupboard.

Jex :rotfl:Your agenda really made me giggle at my desk.... probably because I'm currently writing up the worlds worst type of minutes.... audit commitee

Happy Birthday tealady I hope you had a great day :bdaycake:

Lovely hearing about everyones fruit and veggies in the garden, my little allotment is coming on well. Created a website a little while ago because DG is interested in gardening but lives 400 miles from me, I must update the website (cue my 5 for the day!)

-If the weather holds out take some photos of the allotment and upload them on the website (not OS I know, I'll call this one a new styleeee :p)
-OH out for the evening so a what's-hiding-at-the-back-of-the-fridge omlette for me (he's a meat and two man so I'll be saving tonight :D)
-Again due to OH being out tonight curl up on the sofa and watch Fame!
-Tidy up (made a right mess bulk cooking last night, OH thinks it's amazing how many pans one person can use, I told him he should try cooking for me or zip his trap! :rotfl:)
-Water the plants (unless Mr Weatherman does it for me!)

Hope everyones having a good day, it's nearly the weekend hoorah!! :j
