ok
mental note to self (not that I am likely to remember at this stage)
DO NOT SPEND ALMOST AN HOUR constructing a (what you consider after several brandies) witty humourous post, that replies and acknowledges everyone that posted since your last post, and then CLOSE THE WRONG TAB with 2 posts left to reply to.
who would do such a dumb thing...
I had smileys, cakes, whistles and you have NO idea how many times I had stars... and blamed Sparrer!
Alas my work of art is forever lost in the ether on some nameless server... and I am left... ANNOYED I AM SO STUPID!!!
Alas, tis late, tis brandy...
Trust me, it was a good post you missed! Well I thought so at least!
1) a lie in!
2) a lie in!
3) when you havent had a day off in 6 weeks... a lie in!
4) the girls were appalled at the offering I gave them "normal hen food" not leftovers, boy did I know it! My girls are in no way spoilt you understand!
5) reading this thread, safe in the knowledge we are able to discuss, support, help, suggest, accept, not judge, be open minded, all with each other in mind. As so many have said (and as I have wimped out of) finding 5 is a tonic to so many things in itself, whoever started the original thread (apologies it is waaaay before my time) is a genious
enough brandy now
Gn guys and gals look forward to replying (and not losing the reply) to your antics tomorrow
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -
Happy Birthday Kittikins :T :bdaycake:_party__party__party_
It's okay Jex, I get blamed for most things so a bit more won't make a difference
CCP the picture on the tag is red orange but the bush is definitely deep red. If I knew how to upload/download? a photo I'd do so but being a bit of a dimbo it's beyond me!
my 5
1. Have definitely decided not to take DM on holiday any more. I've done so for the past few years but it always worries me enormously as she drinks approx 1/2 a bottle of brandy a day, more on holiday (and gets rude & unpleasant when drunk), and although we pay in turn for her drink and my tea, expects me to go to the bar every time. I've been in recovery for 5 years and it stresses me out as well as empties my purse. Instead I've spoken to my DC and they're happy for me to take the DGC away for a week in Summer, a holiday camp or similar in the Lancs area. It may not be very MS but will save a fortune in sanity! Don't get me wrong, I don't ever object to anyone enjoying a drink, my DC and friends do, and I know she's 88 but time to put my foot down and enjoy the DGC...after all they won't want to go away with Grandma much longer. Having made the decision I feel a like boulder was lifted off my shoulder
2. nsd
3. Have at last chosen the shed I want and it's going to cost a little less than I've saved so any spare cash will pay for the base and perhaps some trellis and a climber
4. Made a casserole in the sc with pork chops and extra leeks and potatoes, so I have leek and potato soup for the next couple of days
5. Making lists of coupon sites etc for our OS holiday :j
Night night, sweet dreams

Happy birthday, Kittikins! :j Have a great day!
My 5 for yesterday:
1. Having a lovely birthday and feeling on top of the world all day.
2. Yummy roast meal with good friends in the pub in the evening.
3. Short day at work.
4. Fudge Foster Cat being fine after her trip to the vet.
5. Finding out that Gizmo Foster Cat may be coming back to me - he is a high octane puss who is a bit of a hooligan and his current owners don't seem to be coping.
Have a great day, everyone!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Happy birthday, Kittikins! I'd send you a cyber-cake but I can't find one, so how about a flower instead?
sparrer - your holiday plans sound like exactly the right decision to me - if it leaves you stressed and miserable, it's not much of a holiday, is it? I'm sure you'll have a lovely time with your DGC.
savingforoz - I'm sorry to hear Gizmo's new home hasn't worked out as planned, but it sounds like you'll be pleased to have him back for a while. He sounds like quite a character!
Have a lovely day, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Kittikins! I hope you have a lovely day
Alot of birthdays this week! It's DMs birthday which she is celebrating in Marrakesh with DF, I've just had a text from DM asking what the french is for stomach pain and dodgy stomach so I think poor DF is suffering
My 5 for today are:
-Put the left over from my daily budget back into my bank account to stop me from spending it!
-Washing on the line in the b-e-a-utiful sunshine
-plan canapes for DM birthday party on Saturday
-Sort out budget (didnt get a chance last night!)
-tidy up (flat looks a little like a bomb has hit it!)
Hope everyone has a lovely day x[STRIKE]Saving for a deposit on a flat[/STRIKE]

Morning all, hope you are all well today.
I am on tenterhooks here as DH's work are having a big meeting today regarding the companies future. It could mean big changes for DH - more responsibility and a huge boost for his career.
Anyway, here are mine for yesterday:
- My lettuce seads are sprouting already.
- Dr's appointment and blood tests. Not normally a pleasure, but Doctor told me that it looks like my tablets are working and my blood test results are going in the right direction.
- Tried new recipe for tea and it was a huge hit with DH and me.
- Sticking to my diet for another day.
- Early night with my book.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Afternoon
Sorry I have ben missing for a couple of days but got myself into a state about nothing. It is my 40th birthday on Thusday, i'm not bothered about the 40 but over the years not very nice things tend to happen either near oo on my birthday so I get a bit stressed in the lead up waiting for something to happen. Silly I know but just need to get on with it and not be so silly.
Savingforoz and Kittikins - Happy Birthday:bdaycake:
Jexy - Hope you get the problems with the pub sorted.
Molliethewestie - Good luck to your DH on the job front
Newlywed - Hope the interview went well
Sparrer - Your holiday plans sound great and its good that you have decided not to do something that stresses you so much
Caterina - Enjoy your trip to Italy
Anyway my pleasures for the last couple of days in no particular order
1. After our not too good chinese takeaway last week I cooked chinese at home using up lots of bits from the freezer and store cupboard. Everyone really enjoyed it and said it was much better than the one we had through the week:D
2. Seeing my brother and neice running in the London Marathon. We thought we had missed them and were about to go home when I spotted the back of my brothers head. Funny how you can know someone so well that you just know its them in a huge crowd. My niece came through about 20 mins after him so got to see them both. So proud of them as neither of them found it easy but were determined to do it and both ran in memory of our oldest brother who died of cancer 2 years ago.
3. OH taking me shopping in Kingston for some of my birthday presents plus bought me lunch. Chinese again but the restaurant is too good not to go to:drool:
4. OH getting some private work. Would like to set up on his own but with the things are slow to pick up at the moment but had two jobs this week so things are going in the right direction.
5. Increased the amount we overpay our mortgage each month as the account the money comes out of can cope with the extra coming out of it:T
6. Bought DD some new Pj's in Primark which were a bargain and she loves plus got myself a few new t-shirts at £2 each.
7. Reading all the lovely posts on here and looking for the positives rather than the negatives in life.
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Evening all. Here's my pleasures for today, done in a bit of a hurry as my dinner's nearly cooked:
1) Nice and warm all day - I even made it out at lunchtime without a jacket!
2) Found a little broom plant for 75p on Wilkinson's RTC shelf. It's lost its label so I don't now what colour the flowers will be, but for 75p I'm not really that fussed.
3) My DM has arranged to come over for a visit on Tuesday. It's a pity she's got her heart set on visiting a village I'm not particularly fond of, but there's a nice jeweller's there so I might be able to console myself with a new pair of earrings.
4) Got a freebie mini shower gel in the post which I'd forgotten I'd even sent off for.
5) Putting the breadmaker on when I got home. I've had my BM for nearly a year but I still haven't got over the thrill of having a machine which magically produces loaves of bread - Harry Potter's got nothing on this!
Have a lovely evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
hiya all
still down in the dumps!! still dont know why!!!! but the choc last night helped a bit!!
Mine for today
1 A huge slice of cinnamon bread for breafast. Was too small for 2 breakfasts so had to have it all!!!
2 Had a day off of house work! Just couldnt get motivated to do anything so decided on a housework holiday!!!
3 My tomato plant is now too big for my windowsill so have him positioned so that he can still grow and get light. I think I may start taking him outside in the day and bringing him in at night (and yes i know I am calling him a him rather than an it but its Tommy the tomato plant!!!)
4 Today i baked bread, apple braid, apple and mincemeat braid, double choc chip cookies, twinks and chocolate fudge cake. think that was all. and of course i had to try everything and it all tasted very nice indeed!
5 my gloop! dh doesnt like me using it and the other day he dropped tomato sauce from a pizza down his work shirt so i used an old vanish spray i had just to make sure it came out clean so i wouldnt have to put up with the told you so's! well it didnt come out. so i rubbed a bit of neat gloop on the stain and washed it again and it came out. So if i get a tough stain all i have to do it put a bit of neat gloop on it to get rid! Excellent!!
Have a good evening all.0
