    Evening all...

    Happy birthday Kittikins!:bdaycake:
Nuttybabe - having a day off the housework sounds like a great plan. I hope that you cheer up soon.

So Newlywed - how did the interview go?

Good day today - I plugged in my iPod at work and managed to crack on with loads of stuff.

    1) Collected my shirt from the fabulous fancy dress place - I had burnt it on the iron and they were just going to turn the collar but it actually looked really nice without one. All for £2!!!

    2) Listening to music for most of the day while I got on with my work.

    3) A wander into town with my lovely colleague at lunch time. We popped into Asda and I managed to only spend £4 and got quite a haul of whoopsies.

    4) Look my own lunch in - a little HM beef pasty, with salad followed by HM nana bread.

    5) Yummy supper from the fridge... stew/bolognaise with pasta and sweet corn. If I have space I might squeeze in some apple crumble or banana bread.

Am going to a conference tomorrow on the future of food... I hope it's interesting!

Hope you all have a great evening

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Evening all -

    Mine for today are

    1) Bodie pup had his first night in the kitchen away from us and was fine - so I had a lovely long sleep for the first time in weeks!
    2) Lovely sunny day!
    3) Colleague bought me a '99' ice cream at lunch time - and surprisingly it was only £1, they seem to be closer to £2 in most places..
    4) Just toast for tea as OH out
    5) Had a letter saying I had won £10 - from one of those free scratchcards you find in magazines. I had sent off for a code as I was determined not to phone their premium rate number and was sent the validation code, which i returned and have now got £10 - hurrah!

    Hello everyone :):)

    1. Have had a lovely birthday and I've had so many lovely messages both from you lovely people and other chums on MSE, thank you everyone :)

    2. Woke up very early, played with my new toy of the ip0D from the $ky offer, no idea what I'm doing but it's fun seeing what icons do!

    3. My parents called at the crack of dawn from their holiday to sing Happy Birthday :)

    4. DD had made me a lovely card and I had lots more throughout the day, some real corkers :)

    5. I made carrot cake for the first time ever and it was divine, everyone really loved it, thanks to someone on here who posted the recipe, yum yum xx

    6. Child benefit came in and it seems to be 30p more a week now, every penny counts eh:)

    7. Was given some lovely presents from my friends and am feeling treasured!

    8. Have resisted the lure of getting a takeaway tonight and am going to have some yummy stir fry in a minute.

    Mine for today:

    1. Loads of running around today (via car). Took mum to town as she needed to return something to M & S. She bought me lunch in the store and i enjoyed our spending time together.

    2. Went to take something down to the doctors for Dad.

    3. Collected DS when he got back from his school trip to Drayton Manor, it was nice to spend some time with him, especially so, as we didn't argue.

    4. DD and me had WORDS! And to apologise she offered to do some gardening for me that i couldn't do myself. Apology was accepted immediately!

    5. Homemade veg (and pulses) soup for tea, served with nut roast rissoles and vegetarian chickeny (kind of) roast rissoles. And it went down well.

Evening all, will try not to close the wrong tab tonight :S but it saved you all the epic post!
Happy birthday Kitti!!! Look I can do Cake! :bdaycake:glad you had a nice day, and 30p a week does add up - to £15 a year, thats a well nice treat added to the list :)

Sparrer thank you for the extra smiley advice! I blame you in a nice way!
    :starmod::starmod::starmod: :D

Oz, so glad you had a great bday, and had a good day :) glad you like your knew foster pud tat, and sad that hooli cats new place may not be to his tastes. Good you understand him :) unlike dogs, cats decide whether they want to live with you or not, my rescues decided we were acceptable some 10 years ago thank goodness :) :j:j

Emi, well done on putting temptation out of your way!:staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Mollie, amongst all your fab pleasures, I hope the meeting went well and you have news for us soon :)

Tealady - Im like you, thought it was only me that beleives there is always crappy stuff on or near my bday too - lets hope this year breaks the mold :) What are you planning to do on the day? time for big pamper me thinks :D

CCP - GJ on the broom plant (now I know what one is :D:D:D)

Nutty Im sorry you still feel glum :( I hate when I feel grumpy and tetchy for no obvious reason, but im sure it will pass, and you have a tomato plant too big to stay inside! Not one of mine has grown (well one did, but is now RIP!) Im not cut out to do this growing thing, my enthusiasm is waning (perhaps if I did not ignore the packet instructions it would have helped, but I was impatient!)

Girly - as always I love your number 2 you luckygirl :) even sticly toffee pud cant overshadow it :)

Lady, sounds like loads of pleasures, a great "new top" productive work day, but good whoopsie hall owns all of them in my book!

Nyks! good on bodie pup, already an independant brave boy! And 99! I havent had one of those foryears! did you get a flake in it?????

Katho - sorry you and DD had words, but it all worked out in the end :D everythign for a reason :)

Jenny, I like your take on the 5 pleasures in your day being 5 things to be happy about, and you sure have a nice 5 :) would love the homemade butterscotch recipe! I make toffee sauce (well a very basic one!) but the butterscotch with it is a great option!

    ok lemme think!

    1) making breakie for the girls! As many know, I dont eat brekkie, but spend time making porridge and bulking it out with cornflakes, branflakes, alpen and ofc a little cold water so they dont burn their tummies!
    2) cleaning the girls out whilst they scratted outside the pen - trust me, its so much easier to let them out when I clean them out, I hate being supervised! I also spread LOADs of sawdust all over the run, took 7 bags to do half of it, but they love it! And when we called them to come back, they all filed back into the run it was so funny!
    3) made some things I never did before. 2 of the live in guys fancied lasagne for dinner and I had some steak off cuts that I minced, but didnt have pasta sheets so I made some, and it worked out well I think - least the 8 portion bowl barely did 5 (and one eats like a sparrow!) as everyone wanted 2nds! Also experimented with ravioli fillings with the leftovers. Haggis ravioli is yum! Brie and cranberry worked ok, but the winner was smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill! (all using edges and leftovers! so very OS!)
    4) Gosia took her BF to see the house they have been offered, and he likes it and agreed to move in. Im so pleased for her, so now we are planning a "hamper" with the regulars, as a moving in pressie, and we are co ordinating! everyone loves her to bits and rightly so, and all want to do something, so we decided that rather than individual pressies, we woudl contribute to a hamper, a couple of tins when you go shopping type of thing to give them a food head start as the place has no white goods and no carpets atm! (we are going to go scrub the floor boards and use our machine to wax the floors for now). I know she will love the hamper, and I am planning making a card as again thats her style :) Will miss her not living in, but its good for her :) its what she needs and the little house is in a lovely place, if a little far away!

I struggled to think of 4 :S not that things are bad, but its the relentless work and sleep thing atm, just getting on with it i guess, so I suppose that 4 is more than I would normally have appreciated :) thank goodness for you guys and this thread.
    Love and huggles to all

Thanks for your kind words CCP and Tealady, it's all turning out better than I hoped as you'll see below

    My 5
    1. Found a nice holiday park in Morecambe and will book a caravan there for Aug for me and the 4DGC. Not quite as expensive as I thought it would be so I can save a bit towards treats and days out.
    2. Told DM I didn't think I could afford to go on holiday with her for various reasons. She said she didn't want to anyway! This after me poring over the laptop for weeks trying to find somewhere she'd like but everywhere had something she disapproved of .. However it's definitely going to be MS as ref Pleasure 1
    3. Postie brought me a beautiful card from DF in Beijing :), am thrilled he made the huge effort to do this
    4. nsd - 16 this month!
    5. Have a very drippy kitchen tap so phoned the HA and they won't send anyone til next Tues . So thanks to an idea on another forum I put the w/u bowl under it and am using it to water the garden.

Night night (((hugs))) to everyone who needs them , and even those who don't! Sweet dreams

I get that too. I think it's a new feature they've added in the latest upgrade, so you can 'unthank' someone if you change your mind later. It seems a bit of an odd idea to me, but I suppose they wouldn't have introduced this unless people wanted it - personally I'm just ignoring it. :)

    HTH. :)
Back after a very long break!
